It was a neutral experience , but the fish they delivered was good , the wasabi was really as it should it be ! The fish seems to be coming from Kerala which is what we were told! Even though food was good the ambience seemed weird, that was what we were able to see , and the pricing seemed very nominal .

An authentic Japanese cuisine experience!! The food was just amazing and everything tasted soo yummy! We had the Shrimp tempura which was so soft and just melted on our mouth. The Beef teriyaki set was soo decadent and soft and juicy. The Katsu Don (rice topped with crispy pork) was just to die for!A definite 10/10 must visit place if you have a knack for japanese cuisine!!

Quaint little place. Amazing sushi and starters. Loved the pork katsu, and was amazing to have a nice beverage along with it. Reason for 4 stars is that it was quite hard to locate with minimal road facing signage and hoardings. Other than that, top notch!

Japanese comfort food in Chennai. We had the Ebi tempura maki, gyu don and Ramen. Left like in the streets of Japan. The place is renovated, clean, basic and nice. Food is totally homestyle. The wheat tea so very refreshing!

I would say best Japanese restauran in Chennai. It is a sort of a hole in the wall.It has been renowned for its authentic Japanese food and the owners quality control.In terms of its location, it might be little bit difficult to find it as it is deep inside of a old bldg.If you ask me where you can get quality sashimi, my answer would be this place for sure.

The food was pure Japanese and excellent quality. It also had vegetarian options so everyone can enjoy the fantastic food. When entering it doesn’t seem like much but don’t judge a book by its cover. The service was also very good and the people were kind. We received a welcome drink that might not be enjoyed by children but the adults might find it interesting. The decor and interior design made me feel like I was in Japan. Although the ambiance of the restaurant was only average. Overall I enjoyed my experience and food. Definitely recommended for the amazingly good Japanese Cuisine. Ambience is simple and clean, got both types of seating, some Japanese literature and TV shows is what you get.But the food is just too good, we had some prawn sushis, butter fries squid and skewered pork, all of which made us want to eat more at the same time not making your stomach bloated or uncomfortable..if you love Japanese cuisine, you got to try this place. Period.The management and staff is quite nice, knowledgeable about the menu (its a rarity) and welcoming.

Really good place to try authentic Japanese cuisine. Will definitely visit many more times. You get to experience the authentic Japanese style of eating with chopsticks as well as the way you are seated. But if you prefer only the taste and not the rest of the experience, you can opt to sit at a normal table and use normal cutlery.... But where is the fun in that! Go enjoy Japanese food, its brilliant.

The one stop place in Chennai to enjoy Japanese food. Ive tried almost every place in chennai that offers Japanse food (Had to find a new place to enjoy my sushi when they shut down Dahlia for an year). But, nothing has ever come close to the traditional Dahlia way. Starting from the hospitality you receive, the ambience of the place, to the food thats served to you... Aint no substitute for this. The moment you enter the restaurant, one would definitely forget the fact that they are still in Chennai. Ive been a regular visitor to this place and will definitely keep visiting it as long as I can.PS: I miss the tuna that you guys serve though. Hope someday you start serving tuna again!

Not quite filling the sizeable hole for good Japanese cuisine in Chennai, Dahlia is an inconspicuous little restaurant hidden in Kauvery Complex on Nungambakkam High Road. Run by a Japanese gentleman and catering to expats mainly, its a small, very clean well-run place. The ambience is worlds apart from the dusty, dark corridors of the complex- light, airy and simple but nice. The service is brisk and the wait for food short. The food itself is distinctly and authentically Japanese and they are kind enough to forgive people not quite adept at handling chopsticks as we were offered forks and spoons without having to ask. Chicken was a bit tough in the Teriyaki one time but otherwise it was all very tasty. Price was less than I expected it to be but not exactly cheap.
