First of its kind in India, honest attempt to meet international standards. Kids would be very excited and its more than experience for adults as well with wide range of water species along with their description available on touchpads. Plan for three hours to do a relaxed exploration of each segment. Ice on the cake is camera is allowed so you can click some breathtaking photos as well. Marine staff also would be clicking pics at selected view points which can be availed as soft/hard copies for your souvenir collection!!!

We went over a weekend on 26th September. It was crowded than expected. Its a nice leisure place to go with family and kids. As it has opened after a long lock down only small maintenance issues was there, but still they have kept the place well maintained. They havent a descent cafeteria outside with required items to have during exit. They dont allow any eatables inside. They also have a feeding of fish at regular intervals. It is also displayed as a show.Entry fess is 600rs and I felt it can be kept at 400 or 500rs. This would have attracted little more crowd.

Didnt like it. I agree there are lots of Sea Animals but the space for keeping them is Small, not enough to keep the bunch of fishes in small aquarium. The two poor little Meer Cats are inside a very small compound, kindly free them. Better not to visit here instead enjoy the Rides in Universal Kingdom. But the Ganpati Dance inside the water was good, that pool too is having many many different fishes, String Ray etc.

For a Ticket value of Rs 600/- per head, it is worthy aquarium in Chennai at par with some of the good ones at Southeast asia. This has only the fishes of limited varieties as aquarium, with a tunnel arrangement as well. They can add more varieties like turtles, prawns, starfish, lobsters, seahorses, coral reef, crocodiles, etc. There are no shows, like dolphin show, Coral show, sea manatee show, Sea lion shows, etc. Do not expect any interactive shows. At the entrance itself they have a Virtual underwater show at an additional cost of Rs 150/head. This is a 15 minute show, worth for kids. We can feel the underwater experience virtually sitting in a chair. One can spend about two to 3 hours easily.Photography is allowed. So plan and go prepared. Some tanks has a tunnel entry, one can enter through it and stand in the middle of fish tank for a good photograph as if u are in water.Caution:Once you enter, you have to finish and then only can come out for lunch. So plan your timing accordingly.

Once you reach exit, you can go back to entry to revert for anything. I thought we would go for VR experience which was at the entrance, unfortunately due to this confusion, we couldnt experience that.Cafeteria inside marine kingdom is taking a long time for any order intake and delivery. It was well presented and they had a nice selection of marine life which my son enjoyed however80% of families/visitors were not wearing masks or maintaining social distancing. This was shocking as its an extremely closed space with no fresh air. Nobody was there to enforce that rules to avoid spread of COVID were being followed. Also, at the entrance the man in charge of checking temperature was only checking every third person and did not seem to care if you sanitised your hands upon entry. I left feeling uneasy that I may have been exposed to COVID and if I had known that rules were not enforced I would not have gone at all. Places like this should not be allowed to open if they cannot or will not enforce proper COVID protocol. The Tamil Nadu government should be made aware of this.

Good place to enjoy with your kids and family. VGP always surprises with their unique concepts to attract customers and this time they came up with something than no one could imagine. This large aquarium consists of 5 eco zones (rainforest, gorge, mangrove, coastal, deep ocean) and fishes that inhabits these zones. Apart from these, Sting ray captivity area and underwater tunnel followed by underwater suite would surprise you. Underwater suite with three large picture windows gives a wider view of the whole deep ocean aquarium area. They have around 200 fish and aquatic species in total including two cute meerkats.Pricing might be too expensive (600rs each & 500rs for children) but its definitely worth the pricing.

Great for children and adults alike! The lower corridors however are far too dark, signage for what type of fish, their habitat, characteristics partly not available or absent, therefore a missed educational opportunity. The biggest drawback: The management and staff are not enforcing the Mask mandate and once people enter they remove masks, which is a big danger. When we saw that, we exited immediately, but did bring it to the attention of the counterstaff on our way out.If you are charging for parking, why not provide a clean carpark, instead of a litter strewn one?

If you plan anyone to play in water then you consider this. If you looking for only rides , then Aqua ticket is not required. If you have ticket for Aqua, then only you can enter into that , which is inside the universal kingdom. Ex. Family ( Husband + wife ), eventhough wife not interest for water games , she needs ticket to enter into aqua.Dress: For Aqua (water games ), you need to rent costumes from there ( i.e. compulsory 30 rupees , there you need to pay the amount 300 rs, and once u return the rental costumes they refund 270 rs ). Take towels with you, else u can rent that also there. If wish get some moisturizers , else skin might dry a lot.Kids tickets : Check with the security for kids, whether need to take ticket or not before buying.Kids rides : Have few good numbers for kids rides. Surely kids from age 3, can go couple of rides. In Aqua, only in the sea waves its like beach, kids can enjoy and one more free fall ride, kids can go along with the parents.Food: 2 restaurants, and few ice creams, cool drinks, corn, veg puff/snacks shops there. You can try fried rice or dosa varieties. There is family dosa around 250 rs, which is 3 feet length.

I have visited this Marine Kingdom twice and it is probably the first to have underwater walkthrough aquarium in India. I have been always been a Scuba diving enthusiast. The moment I saw VGP offering Scuba dives, my long pending desire to swim with the sharks woke up instantly and seized the opportunity.I filled a routine health questionnaire and attended the detailed explanation by the diving instructor (I forgot his name). Although excited, I was a bit nervous of the sharks as this was my first dive inside an aquarium. But I was told it is totally safe and gave clear instructions on what to do and what not to. I did a trial dive followed by the full dive. The water used in the aquarium is sea water; it makes sense as they have sea species in the main aquarium. My heart was throbbing for a while with all Hollywood scary movie bits running in my mind. My instructor was very sensible and kept checking my wellness inside the water frequently. Once he was sure that I was comfortable and that I was able to signal him back, he reduced the frequency and took me closer to the fishes.I cannot name all the species I saw, but I could identify lemon sharks, black tip, sting rays, etc. The dive was for about 60 minutes in total and I thoroughly enjoyed it. There were different artificial landscapes inside the aquarium — including replicas of some temple in ruins, and a drowned ship in the seas which was totally unexpected. As I informed my family earlier to wait at the underground tunnel to see me while I dive, they were waiting near the aquarium panel. They waved at me in excitement, so I signaled my diver and he helped me kneel, and I was waving back, which only encouraged other people to wave back at me. I continued with the rest of my dive with some beautiful memories to cherish until my next escapade.Amusingly, I came to know that those who register for scuba need not purchase a separate ticket for the aquarium. The reason I quote amusing is that if I am already swimming with the fishes, why would I crave for watching them from outside the aquarium 😊I also noticed that the cost for the dive is still economical than other scuba dives I have done in rest of the world. According to me, we are getting a world class experience within an aquarium at a nominal cost. You need good reef or sometimes luck to swim closer with the fishes in open waters. But here, the landscapes are built, and you cannot get any closer than this to the sea species. So, the only regret I had during my entire visit was that I could not carry my GoPro with me for some catchy pictures. Happy diving!

In the event that you need to catch the whole data of the fish, one needs to trust that the screen will look back to same page. That is really killing time. The plants utilized for beautification inside and outside of the aquarium were counterfeit. Keeping up unique plants is exhorted as it gives lovely air for individuals who come to watch and furthermore for the fishes.Slight feel of energy is seen when we attempt to watch the fishes nearer because of the arrangement of the glass.
