Good temple and boys have to remove their shirt and banians if they wish to worship near. All the vessels used here are copper and they are using traditional methodology to prepare the food even they use woods to cook the food.Saturday is the special day and evening is the peak time.

This temple is a closely held temple. Sri hayavadhana Perumal ( means horse faced deity) is sitting with Lakshmi on his lap. My experience with this temple is not very encouraging. Some devotees and priests claim supremacy over others and have a look in their eyes as why this fellow is here? My interpretation may be wrong. But certainly I was not comfortable at my visit and from that I stand outside and see the idol of hayavadhana and proceed further. After all god is everywhere and he doesnt have any discrimination and if he has then he cannot be god.

Nanganallur is almost a small kumbakonam... like the place for many temple.This temple was very good. Its famous for academic exam prayers. You find a lot of rush during the school exam times mostly during the 10th and 12th class public exams.Parking your car is always a challenge. Temple is located on a narrow main road.You can also plan for the famous Hanuman temple which is close by and also Lord Ragavendra temple.

A very calm place in Nanganallur for the Lord associated with learning and knowledge. Almost every evening, there are devotional recitals by a group of regulars who chant the Hayagriva Namavali among other Slokas. The temple has other sannathis too, Goddess Andal, Yoga Narasimmar, Chakrathazhwar among others. We reached at 8.15am when the alanakara was just starting, needed to wait for 20min for the aarthi to complete for all dieties inside. Immediately they make you sit in a line and distribute the prasadam for the day, it is advisable to carry a container or carry bag. After this is done in about 15-20 min they perform archana for which you have to take receipt, and give thirtha, all this would take about 1 hour. You can also register for shravana by paying Rs. 300.00, in the name of your kids who are studying. The temple would be sending prasadam every month for the whole year. So by the time we came out it was 9.35am. If you intend to stay through the whole process it would take an hour. One thing you need to be ready is to follow the rules, stand where they tell you to, sit when and where they tell you!
