PLEASE DONT VISIT THIS PLACE. It was nice view to take photos..But police popout from anywhere and ask you to pay penalty for coming to prohibited location saying that there is barricade. BUT NO SIGN OF WARNING ANYWHERE. THIS PLACE FOR POLICE TO MAKE COLLECTION IN THE NAME OF PENALTY..

It was a damm good place to be with your friends and loved ones. Particular morning is the best time to visit there where you can see some sunrise parallel to fishermens been into their routine work. Also you can get nice photographs as it got perfect lighting

Very beautiful place.But at the same time very risky place to travel alone or for pairs. Lack of Backup, Safety.. Travelling with 4 or more will be self backup..

I love this place truly, madly, deeply. Best to watch sunrise/sunset from here. You have to be physically fit to get on to this bridge. The climb to this bridge is totally worth it. Get out of here before it gets dark. May not be safe at night.

Been here many years back . Nice place to hangout . But not a place to visit after evening. I dont know why but doesnt feel safe when its dark . There was a life boat of beached MT Parthiba cauvery under the bridge (somewhere in 2012 I think ). Was flying over Chennai and saw the bridge from flight . Thought to share it

The ambience is pleasant and the seatings makes a different view. Though it’s a buffet service, F&B team makes sure to serve all the dishes on your table. The staffs are very friendly and cooperative. I really appreciate Mr. Kolangiappar who suggests the combination of the dishes to taste and he makes sure to get the feedback too. His friendly move to all the customers is highly appreciated. The service is really rapid speed here. This is the reason why we are visiting this place very often.

Good place. Famous for haunted stories😂The way to go to it is not easy though. You have to pass through beach slums, walk for a kilometre. The adyar river water needs to be maintained better by the govt.

The view is scintillating. But not advisable for older people. Because one needs to climb up the bridge by the ledges. And it is not advisable to go that area after 6 pm. Police will be stationed there and they wont allow you. So by 6, you can visit there.

The Broken Bridge is behind the Theosophical Society of India in Adyar, adjacent to Besant Nagar Beach. A small pathway from Besant Nagar Beach leads to Broken Bridge through the Fishermen hamlets. This is a clean backwaters estuary. One can see the place where Adyar river meets the sea. During the day the water level rises below the Broken bridge and lots of fish flow into the backwaters. This helps the Fishermen to get their catch.The Fishermen know where the waters are deep or shallow. The number of white cranes seen there will make one understand the availability of fish. On Sunday morning the Fishermen sell their fresh catch on either side of Broken Bridge. One side leads to Besant Nagar and other side leads to Foreshore Estate. In both the places the business is brisk. The processed fish will be 7 days old. The fish here is caught and sold immediately. Instead of preferring to processed fish if you buy fish here, you will get fresh fish and also Fishermen will be benefitted.

Amazing place for a short adventure. Had been to this place twice and I completely loved it.Its a very calm, quiet and peaceful place. Have to take a detour off the Bessy beach and walk through some kuppams to reach the place. It is safe to take a walk after parking the vehicle at Bessy beach. Vehicles also can be taken until near the broken bridge.Climbing up to the end of the broken bridge was difficult Bec there is no much access and its a bit difficult for girls. The area is safe and serene. Good place to explore at different seasons. Morning sunrise and evening sunset is too beautiful. Very clean beach because of no much human activity.Good place for buddies, friends, and family too.

One of my favourite places where I used to sit alone and just love to staring/gazing/looking around the estuary.Best at monsoon season.Adyar estuarys beauty.And do not litter garbages/plastics.It is not the dumping yard, not only here wherever you go.

No stairs in the place. So you gotta be really careful about climbing up. 3 feet wide. Down is just sewage water which eventually meets the sea water. I really liked the place. Because when I went, it happened to be an excellent weather.

I felt its not much valuable to spend time there. At that time I visited it looks dry. But in rainy it may looks good.

Dont expect a huge structure of bridge. Visit before 4pm because it is a haunted place. 4min from bessy beach. It is better to go there as group of many. Can click good photos.

What was a small bridge across the Adyar estuary to connect Santhome with Elliots beach is now a popular hang out spot after a part of it collapsed in 1977.The place draws youngsters who come to admire its serene beauty. It is peaceful and quiet and offers a picturesque view of the estuary and the sea. But the place in general is very secluded and can be accessed from Elliots beach by a secluded road that runs behind the theosophical society. Hence it is not advisable to visit after dusk. Moreover there is a strong police presence in the area who do not allow visitors after dark.

Great place to take photos. When you are there at Sun rise and sun set timings really youll have good experience.

Amazing place. But make sure you carry all your documents while travelling in your bike or car to this location. Early morning and Early evening is the best time to visit this place.

Nothing special. You take a sandy route to a bridge. Which is. Broken. Please ensure you have a vehicle while returning. Cabs cancel because of an absence of a metalled road. If youre flexible enough you can climb this bridge else just criticise the bridge from afar. The glittering sea on the other side was the only consolation for this sorry excuse of a tourist spot.

Its a good place to visit with friends just for boys but I would not recommend it for family.. Not good place to visit after 5pm and the road lead to broken bridge is too not good.. The view looks good from there but it would be much better if they maintained it well and u cannot walk straight to bridge as you have to climb with little help if you want to enjoy the view

Nice place to taken photos but u cant access the bridge easily . Because theres no stairs. Earlier soil is near the height of bridge.(old photos attached) Now soil is eroded by water.Now you need to jump 4 meter without any support. Better to avoid the place bcoz surrounding also not good.

We could hardly spent 5-10 minutes as we were late to the spot . But the place is so good that it could fill my mind . Ladies please dont go without any guys as the place is bit haunted and doesnt look that safe . Try to be there before 6:30pm. Police will ask us to leave by 6:30pm. To climb on to the bridge is bit difficult so for ladies. They might find it difficult to climb over it . Better dont bring aged persons who isnt healthy enough to climb over the bridge.

Little difficult to reach but worth... A small ride from beach... Walk through slum , Bad idea if you decide walk to this place, 2 wheeler would be better.. wow place.haunted place!!! They say! (People).As per their story, a woman was murdered here and has been haunting the place ever since then.The bridge was built in 1967, collapsed in 1977.

Broken bridge is no more accessible to the public. The structure is highly unstable. Despite the efforts of police, the notice board is never in place to inform the public. To further demotivate people stepping in the broken bridge, the portion connecting the bridge to the land is taken out. But, one can still climb the bridge. When we visited the place, the police patrolled and informed us. The ones who climbed the bridge were charged and fined. Kindly dont visit. Its prohibited for a cause.

Place was located in the Besant Nagar beach side. But nothing too look nice, then u want to climb bridge no step &its not a flate surface, if u visit once the place after then u never visit again.

Currently Police has restricted people visiting broken bridge. So it is advisable to avoid going there.

Beautiful view of the estuary during sunset! Nice place to take pets! Unfortunately it is very dirty.

Please dont visit this place. There is no sign of caution for this place. Once you reach, police will pop out of nowhere, take your phones and will ask you to visit the police station, where they will note down your basic details and charge you 300. If there is really any danger, please put a caution word to make the public aware. There are a few barricades at the entrance, but they are always open, it wont give you an idea whether to visit or not. Thats the point the police will make, there are barricades and all, but why not put a BOARD.

A decent place if you are looking for a quiet beach with few people and cleaner place.

This place is not for family. The bride is very toll to climb. Youll need some ones help to climb dont go alone like me. Its a very nice place. Stil this bridge is have cracks in remaking parts. You can see the view of river and sea junction. Very lonely place, mostly no one will be there.

After reading the reviews here, which were saying that the way to the place is not good,and is dangerous, I was genuinely scared. I even considered not wearing my watch,and to not take my phone with me lol. Tbh, the path wasnt what i imagined to be at all.Yes youve to pass through the kuppam(slum), which is a little dirty,but people there were just going about their business,and it wasnt all that bad(maybe cause i went there at 5pm,and idk how itll be after around 6pm). You could maybe drive there on a two wheeler,but a car wont go through that. Theres nothing much to see there, but the place is very calm and quiet, really perfect if you wanna have some alone time,or even have a beer or two and chill. It was pretty much deserted at even 5pm, so its not very safe for women to go there alone. Theres another way through the beach, but i suggest you not to take that, as people actually do their business on that side, and i had to unfortunately see some sights when i was coming back through that way.

Good place for sunset and sunrise. Bit hard to get to as you have to do a bit of rock climbing and to get of the bridge you have to do the parkour jump and pray that your knee caps dont buckle under the weight of the fall. ✌🏻

Dangerous spot but the view is just amaxing. A place to chill and have some peaceful conversation with friends. Beach side relaxing atmosphere, a few couples around sitting in bushes. Little further we have besant nagar beach where you can get some food and a chaotic atmosphere.
