Great place for kids interested in tropical plants and small creatures. Plenty of educational material around to read about the plants or the animals. In the main room, some of the larger birds are free to roam around amongst everyone. The place is not too big so younger kids shouldnt lose interest. Theres a nice small play area and outside seating area for kids to play and a cafe serving hot drinks and ready made snacks.

For what youre paying, this place is quite good. What I had in my head to what was actually there were two very different things.I was expecting a very small Eden project like building. However this was not the case, it was quite small maybe half a football pitch and more green housey. Great insight to animals from our planet and a variety of Endangered Species.

This is a great half day out choice. There are lots of interesting plants and animals to see.The social distancing measures are great but it does mean that you may have to wait to see some of the animals. My tips would be to make sure that you book and maybe come 30 to 45 minutes into your slot as the guests will be more dispersed at that point. Also, the sloth was right in the corner behind another exhibit when I went and I almost missed them. There was an attendant by them to direct you but if you havent seen them, just take another look for the sign and attendant. The gift shop has standard zoo items as well as some nice artsy pieces. If you or your children love animals or plants I would definitely recommend this experience

Nice little place. Lots of stuff inside but even with looking at everything and walking slowly we were finnished in an hour. One way system for covid worked well.

I have to say the staff were excellent, so kind and professional. There was ample parking upon arrival and the gentleman at the ticket desk was excellent and genuinely excited that it was our first time to visit. We love rainforests and I expect my daughter will study this at school at some point. The animals themselves looked happy and well cared for, this is what is most important to us. Staff were cleaning areas out as we walked around and interacting with the animals which was lovely to see. The tropical jungle was excellent with all variety of flora and fauna which is a passion of mine. The reason for 3 ⭐⭐⭐ stars is because the Butterfly Enclosure was closed and this was the main reason for visiting. I was going to email them before booking the ticket but the website specifically says watch butterflies roam in our tropical glass houses. We were disappointed and the website should really be updated or it should be made clear this section is closed. The gentleman at the ticket desk was so kind and explained this to us. I cant fault the customer service at all. There are outdoor park and cafe facilities which was nice and the garden was planted with some unusual plants. We will be back, you could make a morning or an afternoon of it, just hope next time the butterflies are available for us to admire.

Really lovely afternoon at the living rainforest, lots of animals and plants to see, no butterflies whilst we were there but guessing we were just not on the right day! Nice little cafe and a play area outside. Highly recommended getting annual membership as its not much more than a daily ticket especially if local. The only downside was that I was on my own with my baby and the toilets dont really accommodate this, I only have a small buggy but it wouldnt fit in the door of the ladies and the baby changing area didnt have a toilet...so I ended up having to dash in whilst baby stayed in the buggy outside but a minor complaint really.

Nice little place, lots of small enclosures with animals and a lot of different and fantastical foiliage all around. The rainforest area is a wonderful maze of paths around ponds and enclosures. It is hot and humid so wear light, breathable clothing. There is a quaint little shop, cafe and outdoor play area as well and the staff are really friendly too. The site is very accessible and other than one part path with stairs on (that you can simply roll around) its wheelchair friendly tooThe rainforest area took us about 45 mins in total but was wonderful. There are some birds free roaming all around which are quite placid and happy to pose for pics as long as you dont get too close. We went as soon as they opened in the morning and were in time for the toucan to be fed by the staff. Watching the keeper throw grapes to the toucan who caught them in its beak was an amazing sight.Great for a quick fun escape and ideal for kids.

Great little place to visit on a grey miserable day (and any other kind of day to be honest). Weve been here before a few years back and thought it was good, but small. This time around, with our 9 month old being carried around...It was perfect! Good selection of animals to gawp at. The team has done well with the social distancing, although I imagine it can be a bit challenging when busier (was super quiet when we went) would recommend it for a visit and with our annual pass I know we will be back over the next year as our daughter grows!

This is truly an amazing place to visit and the variety of plants & wildlife fascinating to walk amongst. The site is small in size but feels much larger once you immerse yourself in the indoor tropical environment. The work done here to highlight environmental concerns to wildlife and vegetation is commendable and a great place for all ages to visit. The admission fee covers unlimited return visits for a year, there is a decent cafe & shop, the staff are brilliant and a great educational experience. We visited mid week school term time, which is recommended to avoid car parking issues, better for photography, less noisy crowds and no seating problems in the cafe. Highly recommended to visit!

We visited yesterday on the way home to break up the journey. Our 5 month old baby was mesmerised by all the sounds and watching the birds run around. My partner and I managed to find the sloth and thought everything was well set up and we enjoyed ourself more than expected. We then had a lovely roll and hot drink from the coffee shop. It would be great if the place could continue to grow and get bigger and bigger.

A small attraction hidden in the Berkshire countryside but well worth visiting. Good Covid controls in place which didnt adversely impact the experience but felt safe. She made an appearance on my visit and she was both adorable and chilled out as she took a feed whilst hanging from the ceiling.

A pleasant and quite interesting place to visit but its not very big and is crowded at busy times because of the narrow pathways. Most of the plants have little or no information about them displayed, although there is generally detailed information about the animals. The map handed out when buying tickets is basic and could be a good way of providing more comprehensive information. The discount for seniors is derisory really, at just 75p. However, on the plus side all tickets are actually for a years pass which is good value if return visits are planned. Only one of the two admission desks was staffed when I visited which created a very long queue and wait to get in.The cafe is small and offers a limited range of simple hot and cold snacks and drinks. However plenty of space is allocated to the gift shop which has a large selection of toys, books and mementos etc.All the staff were very pleasant and helpful.

It took us about 20 minutes to walk around the whole thing so I really recommend you exploring it thoroughly and having activities and resources, to make it more interactive especially for the older kids. There are some resources on The Living Rainforest website or you could simply have the kids try to find something in the rainforest beginning with each letter in the alphabet - the person who fills out their alphabet the fastest wins. Also if you can find Cinnamon the sloth then youre in for a treat, she is fascinating!
