Loved it because my daughter loved it. Small place and needs better management like most places in India. But a good outing place for kids once in a while. My daughter loved the slides, swings and see-saw! The animals add to the fun.

Nice place... For family enjoyment.. Its a Green Zone area.. Like zoo ( less collection animals)... There is also kids play ground available.. But overall good👍👍.

It is like a zoo and not like a national park. You can enjoy with your child. I visited the park on Sunday and it was very crowded.

Its no more maintained properly. Very few animals are there. It has big children playground which is the busiest area here. Young children will enjoy it. Better to bring your food and water and enjoy picnic here. Thats what many people were doing when we visited.If you have visited Vandaloor Zoo,then you can give this place a pass. If youre looking a lesser known place to visit,then its okay.

Wonderful place to spend your time with family. You have good play area for the children and proper bathroom and drinking water facility. The animals are kept is good condition and maintained well. It has good parking facility and restaurant outside the park. The place is kept clean and very nice to see all the greenery at the heart of the city.

Good place for kids. Its better to visit these places than going costly places. After corona period your small visit of contribution could help the labours and animals.

Snake park has good variety. The main park called the childrens park has 3-4 deer varieties and turtles. Youll find some big birds which are worth the watch. Rest its good to sit with family and friends and children.Overall there are hardly any animals.Snacks and refreshments are available outside the entrance of childrens park.

Not 100% exciting as most of display animals are not real and only few animals are available and those few are okay to watch and enjoy.Well protected by the state government, the park is considered to be the eighth smallest National Park of India. Adjacent to the National Park is the exciting National Children’s Park attracting the younger lot. Another attraction of the National Park is the Snake Park.

Its better to go early in the morning or late afternoon cause the lighting affects the photos taken. Most of the reptiles were coiled inside their cages maybe due to heat. More monkeys were roaming outside than inside the cages. The childrens park has a separate entry fee compared to the snake park which is right outside it. I would suggest just go for the iguanas walk in right outside as the other animals count is more in vandalur zoo compared to this.

Mini zoo in heart of the city. Has quite a few animals that will excite children. My daughter was super excited on being here. About 120 to 150 mins are required to cover the place. Can plan to go around 4pm so that the humidity and heat is lower.

Heavy crowding on Saturday as I saw. As expected no social distancing. I even saw people inside the park with no mask. Its just that the children play area infrastructure in Chennai is not that good and hence everyone has to go to one big place. Id refrain from going to this place of I have an equally big play area near me.As always duck area smelled badly but otherwise other areas were nearly maintained. Runaway monkeys could be seen all over the park inside and in the parking lot and govt better look into it

Guindy park is open post pandemic for public. It is a nostalgic place for many 80s kids.. But the nostalgia is pretty much ruined the moment we reach the park now with our little ones. There are not enough animals in the park anymore... There is no clear information on whats there and whats not. But the crowds to this park remains the same no matter what, the enthusiasm still is the same. Monkeys are out of their cages and are in every other cage and roaming freely about which is an excitement for children nonetheless. The lone crocodile, the gigantic ostrich and Neelgais are the only exciting wow elements. The rest including 2 lone wolves and numerous small birds, peacocks and turtles are just there .. The children play area is fully functional, as usual adults hog the swings no matter and there is no oversight. The highlight for me this time is the Breast feeding room... That was very thoughtful, women friendly and good addition. So giving 3 stars for thoughtfulness but only 3 cos the animals are boring, overcrowding and the breastfeeding room is presently used by one male staff who hangs his clothes and leaves his tiffin box and the room needs better sanitising.

Best place to spend time with kids. Expect all Tuesday all days are open. You see beautiful peacocks and white peacocks. When i visited i was lucky to see peacock dancing.

A nice place to visit with kids and family. Due to Covid restrictions, the Kids play area is not usable as of now, but looks like they will allow anytime soon. Lots of animals and birds all over to visit and if they maintain well this Park could get even much much better in coming years!

This is one of the best zoological parks in India. Before planning a visit, make sure atleast 4-5 hours are kept aside to completely enjoy the full zoo since this is really vast. There is an entrance fee of Rs. 30 per head, Rs. 25 for still camera. Car parking fee is Rs. 20 and ample space is available for parking. Once inside, there are different options to roam around. One is to walk around the zoo which should be done at a slow and relaxed pace, since you have to walk a lot. Other option is to hire a bicycle, which they have many and costs just Rs.10 per hour and which I consider the best option, if you dont have small kids. Other alternative is to take an open electric van, which costs Rs. 30 per head. It will take you around the zoo in one hour. If you want to travel inside alone with your family, you can book the full electric van for Rs.330. Now regarding the inmates, the zoo has a very good collection of animals and birds.

Great Govt maintained Park for both children & adults. Well maintained with clean restrooms inside the park as well as out side the park near parking area. Huge parking area is a plus. Lots of eateries that cater to every age & segment. Walkers & Photographers would love to walk in the well-laid pathways.Great place for a 1/2-day family trip or morning or evening walk within the heart of city, near IIT-M. Nearby Snake park is a huge attraction to all children.Every Tuesday is a holiday for almost all parks in Chennai including the Chetpet Eco Park and Vandaloor Zoo Park.

You are not allowed to visit national park. Instead, there are two parks including snake park and childrens park. Ticket price is rs 20/person. Total rs 40 for two parks. Childrens park have birds. Snake park has snake, crocodile and a snake museum. You can avoid this place from your chennai city tour plan as there are not much to watch in this place.

This is a great place for kids and families. Government has taken a lot of steps to renovate and improve public experience. Thanks to all the measures taken. The staff are also very friendly. Good measures are taken to disinfect people entering the premises. There are two parks inside for kids to play. There are close to 15 enclosures for wild animals which include crocodile, turtles, snakes, spotted deer, sambar deer, barking deer, three types of primate species, Emu, ostrich , casowary, owl, peacock, love birds, parrots and many more. The greenery inside the park is so pleasing and gives a total peace of mind. A must visit place for everyone.

In the year 1994, I went to Guindy National Park for the first time.Ok, as we all hope, the first time encounter is often the greatest experience. And it came to be just as I had imagined.Childrens Park and Snake Park have been combined to form Guindy National Park.Snake park is a place where you can just see reptiles.A childrens park is similar to a miniature zoo. Children will enjoy themselves at the park, which includes animals such as black buck, spotted deer, hyena, jackal, grey pelican, cockatiel, parrot, mongoose, crocodile, rhesus monkey, common langur, among others.Ive been to this park nearly five times, the last time in August of 2012, and there have been no changes to the park since then. Its the same old, same old!

Visiting this place after nearly 10 years (last visit during school trip), I felt this place has lost its charm. Not a lot of animals are put on show, the food stalls outside were worst. The ticket costs 20₹ per head and on top of that, they charge an additional 15₹ for each camera mobile a.k.a. smartphone which everybody has nowadays. The only nice this I saw during my visit was this beautiful white peacock.

Located in the middle of the city, Guindy National Park and Snake Park is a place to visit by every nature enthusiast. Its rich fauna and lush green landscapes attract many visitors each day.When here you can see spotted deer, jackals, blackbucks, tortoise, cobra, pythons and avian fauna such as quail, partridge, fly catcher and buzzards. Poor maintenance, Rest rooms are maintained in very pathetic condition. Snacks shops also poorly maintained. But snacks rates are high. Rest rooms are payable. But very worst. Governmrnt What is doing, we Dont know. We are citizens, we should not ask any questions. But we have to pay. We have to obey the government rules. God only can save us.

Snake Park - Learnt a lot....about the different kinds of snakes.

It is not like 20 years before. Very limited animals only there. Big kids area. Toy train also not there. They can put small toy train for kids and also no shops are inside the park. You have to come out from park to buy icecream or anything. Water is available and taste of the water is good.Government can initiate to put toy train inside the park and they can put governments Avin shop and can sell products like icecream, milk, coffee etc.Park is clean. Outside food allowed into the park.

Those aquatic birds in cage were hungry and waiting at the slab where fish will be thrown ,we went first to the park at 10 a.m.and waited there to see the feeding of birds but no food came,asking about the food to the staff he said fish is not fed to birds in proper time and only less amount of fish is sown and hence insufficient to all birds ,the fish supplier comes in his own time from morning to evening and some days no supply comes and birds are very much hungry and restless -he said and requested not to say his name anywhere,the government is sending lots of funds and what a matter a woman can come every day with fresh catched fish and get checked by the zoo incharge ,atleast sea is just 2 kilometres from the park and a staff can buy fresh fish from net every morning ,when bought in plenty and reqular fish cost very less,wantedly you people are doing or you people are fools and uneducated,concern department must take care and the incharge must be severely punished

Its a good place for visitors but probably not for animal lovers. There were bigger playgrounds for kids to play than the animal enclosures. As a visitor i felt as if animals were jailed in small enclosures. I dont know why. Though animal feeding was prohibited but still i saw 2-3 visitors feeding biscuits though i liked the old trees that imparted green beauty to the park plus the butterfly 🦋 area which was open but still had good population of butterflies
