Before giving a review, I would heartily congratulate the authorities of blue cross who are serving the animals with care and love. This place is maintained very neatly and it is not only a shelter to puppies and kittens, but also they treat the pets we bring with utmost care. They also have a pet shop and animal dispensary, which sells vet medicines and products at a nominal and discounted price than the other vet shops. The doctors over there are also very patient in treating the animals and they also provide the best advice.

Your kindness towards them makes all the difference.

There is a change after the pandemic... They only take animals that are unwell or have an injury. They dont take abandon animals as they effect the health of those residing there already. But do donate for these animals whatever you can through food or finance cause there are so many cats and dogs that are in need. Very clean and well maintained place. It didnt smell at all when I visited this time. Kudos

Best place to adopt stray pups. But do check with the doctor or with other staffs there to know which pups are the new ones. Because the pups are all put together there is high chance of infections. DO DOUBLE CHECK THAT BEFORE ADOPTING. The doctor is very good and quickly narrows down to the problem.

This is a neat and clean place. It feels like a kindergarten inside. Except, instead of children laughing, you hear animals shouting. Adoptions, programs, rescues, vet, pet shop, recovery of injured animals, and donations happen here. You might wanna check their website and call the blue cross number once before going there, so that you know how to spend time there. Because nobody is permanently free, if you want to do something good, then utilize your time correctly here. I only did my part by adopting and treating particular cases in my locality, theres actually more like you could apply to become a volunteer here online. Good luck.

Worst service, telling us that if you leave your dog in blue cross, it will die within an hour. No use of having blue cross here. They dont respond properly, doctor injected a street dog, it died within 4hours. I dont know why people in blue cross not caring properly. Waste of giving donation to blue cross. Collecting crores as donation but not giving proper treatment to street dogs. Atleast provide a basic treatment for street dogs🙏. Dogs do have family, just because of street dogs u are not taking any attention. I raised an complaint for street dog leg broken, after 10 days calling me whether dog is alive, and telling me can you bring the dog to blue cross.

There was a street dog near my home at Mogappair which was in a very critical condition and blood bleeding on the right side of the neck and didnt stop and i have approached the blue cross located at Guindy, Chennai through call regarding this. After contacting, a woman who declined to tell her name, said how to register for an emergency rescue request. I have made the rescue request in blue cross using their link they sent me through whats app number and i have applied for a rescue request and the request code is RQ11953 and the request is made on 24th October 2020. They told me they will send an ambulance within 12 hours to rescue the dog and will give updates. The next day, I have checked the update using the rescue request number and it shown as rescue accepted and it shown as scheduled on 25th October 2020 at 07:13 AM i.e. Morning.I have made 8 calls but only 2 calls were attended by the same woman and she is asking me whether the dog is critical, and I gave all the info on 24th October and even in the description of the rescue request. I said send an ambulance its urgent and pleaded to them to come soon on 25th October 2020, but the ambulance didnt come. On 26th October 2020, i called morning and they said the details are with driver and even the driver called me and i said the location but the dog has disappeared. I searched for the dog and the dog is dead. then the ambulance came and they were telling me too sign the sheet while I was talking to them that why have you come now after the dog is dead when its body has no blood left to come out, they said okay now please sign the paper, or dont sign, not needed for us. the driver said that Blue cross office gave the paper to rescue today morning. and when i called again to blue cross and the same woman took the call, i said her the dog is dead and answer me for your negligence, she said they gave the sheet to rescue yesterday as the driver changed, it delayed and gave this answer carelessly and she says to give feedback no problem where nothing going to fix. In the sheet it was clearly written the rescue request print taken out on 24th October 2020.You people sent an ambulance 2 days after the day the dog was injured on 24th October 2020 because its emergency for the voiceless animal, Do you people even know what is meaning of emergency ??, you should have sent the ambulance within 24 hours, and i pleaded for ambulance in every call when the dog was struggling in pain and blood loss.Even the people in the area were feared that it brings infection as the wound is very very big, i was even unable to go to it because it keeps no running and i was able to aid it by using turmeric powder to stop the bleeding but the bleeding didnt stop and as per your rules, dogs should be aided by the rescue requester until the ambulance arrives. and alas, ambulance arrived to save the dog after it died with so much pain and blood loss even so many request to blue cross on call. You may say that its just a street dog, It saved many people from getting bit by other dogs by it guarded self from other dogs.I reported this to the blue cross on the first day the dog was injured, we were willing to bring the dog directly to blue cross but its bleeding and a foul smell came from the dog and yes the wound got infected, thats why i asked for ambulance. Please dont kill voiceless animals like this because of your negligence. You may faced many issues like this, issues shouldnt be created at first place.

A very very bad experience with blue cross. I had a stray cat admitted there who got hurt. She was there for 3 months but still did not heal and later they gave her back to us (while there was still a big wound left to heal) saying they cannot keep her there any longer. No oral or IV antibiotics were given. So tell me how can she heal.Another stray cat was also admitted there died. They did not give her any oral antibiotics for the internal pus that had formed after a dog bite.I requested them to tell me what all medicines were being given to her during her stay there so that I could change and try other stronger medicines but there has been no proper response from them. All say different medicine names. They show as if they care for animals but an animal that has been with them for so long and hasnt healed, they show no concern towards it. They should be shut down or someone should audit there caring system...wish there was an option for minus stars.

It has always been doing yeoman work regarding poor abandoned strays, single handedly set up by the hon capt v sundarm with some like minded friends, treating their injuries, giving many of them a home, always courteous to the animal lovers, for time immemorial.but recently even before wuhan covid struck the world and india, the. Blue cross was having a hard time to house stray puppies,as they were never many takers to give these cute abandoned puppies a home, also trained and dedicated long term labour as salaries do not match the work load doctors included, even though finance and donations look like they are in the downside, but with so many young tech billionaires a concertrated effort ,can get a lot of money, but what about trained dedicated labour sticking to their job foor a long time, and equally dedicated young animal lovers overseeing the administration and the running of the organisation,as the good family of late capt sundarm are elderly and need the right support there are people, but will the blue cross find them, and delegate power and tasks to them also a decent remuneration. A small example they should catch the un neutered strays in the night,as it is difficult to catch them in the morning as they do not come out.but both the blue cross and corporation are not doing the sameThe only way to control and help the strays is mass neutering with a war like sustained push.with all the good work hope the good people of blue cross are listening, with every delay in implementing this the stray population explosion threat keeps increasing,as euthanizingmercy killing is a crime on humanity and not a feasible solution.blue cross are you listening.

I just asked them its fine even if its cured I will take the cat my self because it lives in my street. They just kept refusing to take it and kept telling me to give it an injection which for doc consultation was 200 . And leave it where I found it . Seriously I did not bring a Persian cat or something I brought a normal stary cat I see on regular basis and was feeding it during lockdown . Today after 2 days he just passed away . From a very personal experience, NEVER CALL THEM FOR EMERGENCIES. A dear stray dog of mine had been in an accident yesterday afternoon. I immediately finished the procedures for rescue. The status said that the rescue has been accepted and that the ambulance has been scheduled. I was waiting for their arrival till almost 9 in the night and I tried to save the dog who was crying in pain all night. Today when I woke up, he was dead. We live within their service limits and I did not expect such a poor response from such a huge organization. I highly depended on them and this was the experience that I had to face.Being such a reputed organization, we approach you because we trust you. This is not what we expect from an organization like yours. If I see an injured animal, my immediate response will be to call Bluecross. Many people rely on you for saving dogs and many other animals. If you take your leisure time, a lot of lives will be lost. Kindly make sure you give us any updates if you will be able to come or not. That way we can at least find any alternative sources. Your timely help can save a lots of animals if you are responsive. Please make sure no one goes through such an experience as mine. Thank you.

He also informed that if I am interested, can donate fund to Blue Cross...without hesitation donated Rs.1000.00. They gave receipt of course. After this took them to the care takers, who refused to take over the puppies stating that theyre grown ones....later the reception guy who interacted came and informed that the puppies cant be taken and asked us to take back...even after begging he refused...With no other go brought them back and left it back where they were.... we couldnt adopt any out of them because last year we adopted two stray dogs and cant have more at home...The point is, is blue cross only for few days puppies or kittens or what...!!! which case blue cross should declare that openly....why that the reception guy didnt see the puppies whether theyre grown up or not than sitting on the chair only to ask donations...!!! is there any hidden incentive to those office guys from blue cross or what...?Very cruel approach by the blue cross staff at Vellachery...pathetic....God save the puppies.
