Temple is located at the top of the mountain, best natural scenarios while going top of mountain. Temple provides the bus service with low charges, which get to the temple. The temple is famous because of the Shiva and parvathi both on the single statue. One side of the statue is Shiva and another side is parvathi. People call it has the powerful god. There also many god present near to the arthanareeswarar. You have to pay a little for worshipping arthanareeswarar.

It has lot of sannadhis like, Bala Ganapathy, Balamurugar, Sri Arthnaeeswarar( Easwaran), Arthanareeswari, Natarajar, Somaskandhar, Lingodhbavar, Brihma, Navagraham, very powerful Bairavar sannadhi, Nalvar sannadhis too.In the same complex Arulmigu Santhidurgai amman sannadhi is also there. Raghukala pujai is done here on every Sunday during Raghu Kala period (4.30 to 6 Pm).Very clean n neat. Suggest to visit with family.

Culturally rich and a quiet place of worship. My family has been visiting for decades. Management does a really good job of preserving the tradition at the same time adapting to the niches of modern visitors. I get such positive vibes everytime I visit, one of my favorite places to go with my family!

Kanchi Kamakoti Paramacharya discovered this ancient idol of Arthanareeswarar in the temple tank when he was performing a morning puja at the abandoned temple tank here. Since then the temple was functioning in thatched sheds and the Kumbaabhegam took place in March 2004. This temple is also a “Kethu sthalam”.A life-size idol of Sri Ashtabhuja Shanthi Durga, said to be bigger than that of ancient Patteeswaram temple near Kumbakonam is installed in a separate shrine just at the rear of the Ardhanareeswarar temple. The well sculpted durga is a please to the eyes of the devotees and is well known as sarvabhishta pala nayaki.Must have darshan of this 5 tier Rajagopuram and ancient idols.

Good place. No place for parking we may use platform. Also normally closing time is 11am and leave days maximum 11.30am

Hindu Shiva temple. You can peacefully worship Lord Shiva. Very polite pandits. On the day of my visit the temple devotees offered prasadam which delighted me much. I always enjoy visiting Hindu temples.

Crowds on festive days cant avoid. Others days nice place to sit down and feel the divine vibes. Both yin yang merge beautifully full harmony. The Ashtanga Durgamba is awesome. Wheel chair access possible with manual help. Authorities are helpful. Car parking in by lanes. 2 wheelers ensure proper locking before parking.

Extremely upset about this review. The temple isn’t quite up to the usual standards . You tend to witness lots of rubble at the entrance followed by bad stench inside owing to sewage on either side. Requires some serious attention in terms of bringing the temple back to its good form. I hope the temple authorities take appropriate action.

Superb temple. This temple was consecrated with Arthanareeswari samedha Arthanareeswarar as its main deity. This arthanareeswarar was found in a pond nearby by our Maha Periyava in his early days of his yatra to Nangainallur. Again couple of months before, this temple was again consecrated after a decade by our Bala Periyava.Inside the temple, there is Durgai, a superb replica of Durgai of Patteeswaram near Kumbakonam of Tanjore dist, Tamil Nadu.U dont like to come out of temple after dharshan and such is the beauty and attraction ( ஈர்ப்பு in tamil) of deities of this temple.The temple is in Nanganallur, temple town of Chennai city, Tamil Nadu.

A temple where Lord Arthanareeswarar is the main deity. Lord Shiva shares 50 per cent of His body with Goddess Parvathi. Shiva Linga is also seen in front of the above deity. There is a separate Sannathi for Goddess Ashta Dasa Bhuja Durga. The deity is standing astonishingly to a height of 10 feet , with different weapons in Her 10 hands. A must see temple, very neatly maintained and situated in Nanganallur 4th Street in Chennai city.
