Loved the ambience of the cafe, the open sea view added to the overall flavour of the cafe. The staff is courteous and prompt. The Beef Sizzler is an absolute must try. The Grilled Prawn and Nutella Shake were a delight. And the cola float was on point. Overall an easy recommendation.

Mash Resto cafe is the place to go to if you want food that disappoints.The food is edible but that’s where the niceties stop. It’s nothing out of the world. I’ve had better homemade burgers than The burger i had here.For the ambience they get a star.The overall experience was okay as the restaurant was overflowing.Regardless, I think Mash Resto Cafe should be your last option if you wanna eat in the Besant Nagar area.

The mushy sizzler is always good! Service left s lot to be desired though! The weiner schnitzel was crispy but not worth. The Alfredo pasta was creamy and excellently cooked! The choco mudpie is definitely the best dessert I have had here!

MASH is a small eatery on Besant Nagar, famous for its beach view. It has both indoor and outdoor seating. We unfortunately went when it was a little too hot in the morning, and the place was empty. Still, we decided to sit outside merely for the view, and placed our food. I had a banana shake and a cottage cheese burger. Both were super filling, and tasted great. The burger was served with fries, and the patty was well cooked and had the right amount of spices. It was a little annoying how the staff took forever to serve us, despite us being the only people there! But yes, the delicious food made up for it, and they were decently priced too. They have a wide range of sandwiches, pastas and burgers that you can pick from , apart from their endless list of starters and desserts. Hop in for a meal with the perfect view !

I had smoked paneer mushroom patty with steamed rice and boiled veggies with gravy. With smashed potatoes added. Its a sizzler. I was good.

Excellent food! The quantity is very good there. In the recent times I have visited many cafes and the quantity of the food according to their prices was not satisfying, Mash was very very satisfying. Anybody who visits should definitely try the white sauce pasta! Its pure bliss!

Nice ambience. The staff are polite. It went during a less crowded time (lunch). It is a really cool spot to hangout with people in the evening as it is beach facing and they switch on the fancy lights (hehehe). The food I tried, overall good:Texas burger: I think they bake their own buns: soft, chewy and I would recommend trying it. The burger patty was dry but in this particular burger was bearable. Came with a side salad and some fries, both are good.Veg wrap: I likes it as I like fresh veggies in my wrap. Although, a little patty would not hurt. I loved their special sauce that went perfect with fries.Garlic bread: This was one of those crispy rusk like breads. I personally like them.Sizzling brownie: You can never go wrong with this. I was not sure if they used brownie as the bread was white in color but overall the excess chocolate made up for it I guess.

This place got one of the best steak in chennai. Such good tender meat. Do try the mix meat sizzler and double marinated steak if you a hardcore meat lover.Also this place is opens by 7am for weekend breakfasts. One of the best places to have some really tasty breakfast by the beach on a Saturday/Sunday morning. The food is freshly prepared and tasty.

This place used to be better. Now the taste is ok. Ambience is very bad. No AC. Taste of pasta is terrible. Sizzlers are good and burgers also. Can go here in the nights to chill when its a bit chillier. Otherwise cant sit there.

Ambience: Ambience was nice, they have a beautiful outdoor seating area which looks over the beach, but it would most ideally used around dinner time and on a cool night in Chennai, for lunch that looked unbearable- hence opted for the indoor A/c seating. Place was cool and small, and very simple.What We Ordered:Weinerschnitzel and Coke FloatPasta Boulette and a Mint Lemon CoolerWeiner schnitzel, this was my first time having it and Im not a seasoned beef eater- but the meat was exquisitely tender. My only issue was that I felt it was fried a little too long? Id have preferred it a little lighter brown (not that it tasted burnt) Also it was a little on the oily side too. The Schnitzel (such a funny name :P) came with a dollop of coleslaw which was nice, but could do with a few more veggies -consisted of cabbage and carrot as far as I noticed. Mayo dip was good, might be better garlicky, and schintzel good have been seasoned better. But all in all, I cleaned it all up and I was thoroughly satisfied.Coke Float: This was a let down, coke was flat and not very cold. And the ice cream ceased to exist as it had melted away into a pool of coke vanilla froth. The ice cream tasted milky when it had melted and therefore ruined the whole coke float making it taste odd. Was excited to try this one, but I was let down .Pasta Boulette-: Star of the Day, my significant other loved this. Shes a pasta lover and told me the pasta was Perfect and I had to agree it was great, with cut up veggies parboiled and the sauce perfectly seasoned, it was a treat to eat. The meatballs where a perfect mix of spicy, tender and meaty. This was a hit out of the park. Excellent.Mint lime Cooler- was great, and really helped me wash down my Schnitzel (lol) it was great, not too sour not too sweet.As we were about to wrap up, another couple had come in and ordered a sizzler. The one drawback of this place - if opting for the air-conditioning, is that if someone orders a sizzler , be absolutely prepared with a gas mask, unless youd like to be hacking and coughing uncontrollably for the rest of your meal. Being a small room, the smoke doesnt easily dissipate and lingers.All on all great place, VFM pricing. Will definitely be back

Mash is a small, but nice little beach facing restaurant in Beasant Nagar or Bessy as it is popularly known. It serves continental food at affordable prices.The ambience is relaxing with warm lights all over the place and being on the first floor, you will get a good view of the beach.Coming to the food, they server very good pasta, pancakes and seafood.The sauce made for pasta is very tasty and heavy, which means it fills your stomach well. The pancakes are well cooked, soft and fluffy. The seafood is something you must try. Do not miss out the Kalamari and shrimp.On the whole, it is a good experience for your taste buds and the same can be said for your wallet. I hope you enjoy your visit to MASH.

Amazing continental food but the service is very slow. The place is usually full and u might have to wait. But the wait is worth.

I heard a lot about this restaurant. I was super excited to visit this place which is located just by the beach. We ordered cheese steak and cheese cutlets, and honestly it was one of the most disturbing dishes I’ve ever tasted. It was so bland and the taste, oh god i cant even express my hate in these mere words.

This beautiful cafe faces the calm and serene bessy beach. Its wooden decors and bright lights will definitely attract you to visit this small yet warm restaurant. You can either side inside the air conditioned rooms or outside facing the sea and listening to some light music. I went for an meeting here and had chicken and mayo sandwich, cuppa mushroom soup, muchachinu and sulaimani ! Soup was thick and a bit salty, and the sandwiches looked delicious. So I and my 2 friends went here after checking on Zomato. Our requirements were, Veg+NonVeg, less than 1k for 2ppl rate, open in the afternoon and beach facing. Took a Uber and reached.We ordered toast and Classic Omelette (after breakfast hours), they provided. BBQ Chicken Wings as starters. Both were on point. If you like Omelettes, try it here. The chicken wings were tangy and enjoyable, but thin layers of meat on the bone will be irritating.For the main course, Vietnamese Basa Fish, Chicken Cordon BLEU, Sizzling Cheese Steak.I had the fish. If u like fish and love it when it melts I your mouth, try it here. The proportion is enough to fill one stomach. With rice and vegetables sides it is heavenly. A much recommend.The Chicken Cordon was a trip down memory lane when initially KFC came to town, the juicy chicken they served. The Cordons were like that. I personally found the side dips to an of combination, but my friend who ordered it loved itThe worst for last, the Sizzling Cheese Steak. Everybody likes cheese. But this preparation was bad. The mashed potatoes, rice and vegetable sides were amazing. They were coked perfectly and went well with each other. But the Cheese Patty were horrible. If u like mashed potatoes with fired rice, order this and eat only that.Another super recommendation is the cold Ice Tea. U will love it in the heat of Chennai as much as the taste.

Food was tasting yummy. Chicken wings are simply the best here. Dishes were fairly priced, infact I felt the cost of food is comparitively less. Not sure why but they dint accept zomato gold (1+1 food) on burgers and wraps. Excluding those 2 sections options on which zomato gold is applicable are less.

Prior booking is compulsory, good food, good price, and has a view of the beach as well. Would recommend for non vegetarians.

This is a nice looking place near the beach to go. It looks really amazing at night and also they have burgurs, pastas, sandwiches, Sizzlers etc. The rates are high obviously due to its prime location. Taste was good. The cafe is upstairs with both outdoor and indoor seating.

Only restaurant near the Elliots beach which opens early morning(8am) and the food is great but a bit expensive.

Ordered a TEX Beef burger and the patty was spoilt and smelled bad. When asked about it thr waiter denied it was spoilt and said that its because of the climate!Fries were not of good quality and didnt taste all that good. The ketchup too, had a funny taste to it. Lemonade , which we ordered was also average.When we were there around 8 PM on a Sunday night, there was no supervisor or manager in the floor until we left much later and only the cooks / waiters. So, clearly, quality had gone for a toss. Would not recommend the place as for the price they charge, its a total rip-off.

I went here yesterday for my birthday with my friends and I came back very disappointed..Total waste of money..Barbeque chicken wings was nothing but chicken coated with ketchup and it costed 220rs..The pizza and pasta was ok and we dint even get plates for a long time..They gave small plates in which we couldnt even eat properly and for that price its not worth it..Id never go back here..It isnt how it looks the food as well as the place..There is no ac and the place is too small

The bun used in burger was bought from nearby tea shop. Kindly dont visit the restaurant if u are sane. It was the worst restaurant that I have ever been to.

We went to the new premises of the cafe for the first time nd had a very terrible experience. The service was very very slow. Even after several reminders to the waiter there was no improvement. So we left after cancelling the two items including starters. And the three items they gave was not freshly prepared.

Just dropped in for a quick snack. Their golden fried calamari was mediocre at best and their hot chocolate was very disappointing.

Really small place. Quality of food was terrible and most items tasted below average. Please go elsewhere
