After crossing the river ganga during his exile lord ram spent his first night at this place and then headed towards Bharadwaj ashram at Prayag the very next day.There was a huge pond at this very place in which lord Ram cleansed himself in the morning. This pond is known as RAM JUITHA.

Lord Shri Ram slept the night under the banyan tree of the same Gau Baran forest (later the Charva forest).And in this pond, taking water with mother Sita and Lakshman, gave him the good fortune to be called Ram Jutha Kund.
