The rice was perfect. The butter chicken was a work of art. The service was as if I were in the Burj AL Arab. Bottled water on the house. The chairs at the table are perfect. Not the kind that make you hurry up and eat and get out if there because the chair is uncomfortable. I was able to catch up on my Indian rap/pop stars at the bar. It should have cost 3 times the amount charged. The gentleman that took on the Parkers or maybe just me...was a gentle soul with a keen eye for what, if anything to make my time there was relaxing and calm. If you like Indian food, GO HERE.

Honestly, the food was flavorful and tasty, but I can’t really give this place a better rating. Sadly, the slow, inattentive service significantly outweighed the food. Considering there are many delicious Indian restaurants to choose from in the triangle, I would have expected this place to be worthy of the price and location.

Today we have tried multiple dishes here.1. Assorted veggie platter served with few pakora, aloo tikki and samosa. Pakoras are raw inside, aloo tikki is the worst aloo tikki I’ve ever had in my life. It’s not an aloo tikki its a panner tikki I haven’t tasted a bit aloo in it. Samosa tastes good.2. Aloo parata. The worst parata I have ever had tastes so bland all I have tasted is turmeric. No seasoning at all.3. Kheema parata same as above no seasonings at all tastes so bland.4. Fish fry- just ok.Overall experience was not at all good. We wish at least they’ll ask us how the food tastes. Very disappointed. Waste of money.

Mint is one of the best places on West Franklin street for Indian cuisine. We have been here before on several occasions both during a weekday or during weekend for buffet and Mint maintains a good standards when it comes to the quality of food they serve. Weekend buffets are more special with on the spot hot kadai for samosa chats or similar dishes and free champagne.Last but not least, the manager is AWESOME and he accommodates your requests; my wife doesnt eat meat certain days of the week and she felt like there were not many vegetarian curry/ saucey dish options for her on the buffet that day and the manager accommodated her by making a paneer dish for her. So nice of him... and we like it a lot for the ambience as well. We recommend this place for friends and family who would like to have a good Indian food on West Franklin or a place to go to from UNC.

Ordered the Tandoori Chicken for takeout. The chicken was juicy and the side of curry rice that I got was also okay. I hoped both would have more spices, but overall they were very mild. I expected their food to be very authentic Indian cuisines, but it didnt meet those expectations. Nonetheless, it is a solid Indian restaurant that I would go to if I really crave for Indian cuisine.

This used to be the best Indian restaurant in Chapel Hill or Carrboro, but the quality has really gone downhill. Maybe its just takeout, but the food we ordered tonight was barely edible (chicken tikka and paneer tikka). No spices, no option to order extra heat, very mild and flavorless. The rice pudding had no raisins, no cardamon - just bland and sweet. This is very disappointing and I hop ethey will take this opportunity to improve.

DELICIOUS food. We ate in the restaurant once, then ordered it as take-out during this time of social-distancing. While a little pricey (many options around $15-$17/plate, though some more expensive) there is enough food for several meals (it makes excellent left-overs and I ate about 3 meals out of my one order). Just remember, if you arent familiar with Indian food, the spicy is very spicy. But the mild is also very delicious for those who do not want spicy.

So many improvements for Mint 2019. Great lunch option which offers quick service with strong selection of the classics. Over the past six months the buffet has gotten fresher with many classic vegetarian options- hats off to the new chef and or management. The pakora option changes daily which is a treat! If you are into chicken expect at least four dishes to select from. my favorite are the daily chutney varieties. The mint and onion are made in house. Price is cheap for so much selection. I will say that the atmosphere is not ready for formal dinner- there are lots of boxes, overflow storage and general clutter all around the bar area. Franklin is really lucky to have Mint Indian Cuisine!

Got there at 2:00 on Sunday and had the buffet, which was $15. The food quality was average at best and there were not many items. Half of the items were running out. They had memosa drinks (using Sunny-D orange drink marked as orange juice and cheap champagne) - not sure how that fits with Indian cuisine. The service was good. Definitely not worth $15. Our waiter misunderstood that the two of us would share two entrees, so we had a wait of about 10 minutes for the second entree to arrive. We requested mild, #2 out of 5, which had just a hint of heat. I visited this lovely Indian restaurant for lunch with my workmates. The first aspect of the restaurant that i noticed was the buffet style layout. I was surprised that the decor (warm and comfortable) was accompanied by buffet style Indian cuisine. I am normally against buffet style so that is why I subtracted the one star. Other than that, the food was excellent. Being an Indian style restaurant they had great vegan options as well. Service was good and the staff was very nice. I asked one member of the kitchen, how he prepared one of their recipes and to my surprised he told me a lot. I was able to take out a large portion of food for me and my wife as well and she also loved their food. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the Chapel Hill area.

This is by far one of the best Indian restaurants Ive been to. Growing up in a similar household, Ive been exposed to these flavors my entire life, and no place can match the taste of Mint. Their dishes are always fresh, flavorful, and unique, and they provide great service as well. You can eat here in a restaurant style or buffet style, and both come with several options so you never miss out. The food in the buffet always tastes freshly made, and is warm, so its not just leftovers from the night before. The atmosphere is very quaint and I love the Hindi music ringing through the speakers. Eating at Mint is an experience, and a pleasure. Definitely recommend.

Pathetic service, be it greeting when I walked through the doors or the lack of an apology for billing incorrectly. I was billed an excess of $15, when confronted about it, dude just went over and printed a new bill with the same amount of gratuity (assuming a higher amount than I wished to give). Not an apology followed for this screw up, its almost as if he knew he had cheated us and hoped we didnt realize it. This place has gone the wrong way!! Weve been here a few times in the past and have really liked the food and the atmosphere. However, last night was a disaster. The dishes were cheaply made, almost tasteless. Veg Korma was made with frozen succotash mix, grilled chicken was not cooked all the way through, we received a single bowl of cheap, tasteless mango pudding for dessert though we ordered a $50 dinner for two.To end the experience, the waiter burped at the table and loudly threw all the silverware into a bowl oblivious that we were still right there. One restaurant that well never return to.

My food was okay, though it was definitely over-priced for the quality. The wait staff, however, was awful. After my initial order was made I never saw my waiter again. I even told him we wanted to order drinks, and would do so next time he returned. My order was wrong when it first came out, and the waiter never coming back made it hard to get it fixed. I ended up asking someone bussing tables, who then referred me to the hostess. Overall it was awful. There are plenty of better places for Indian food. I recommend The Viceroy in Durham or Vimalas, across the street from Mint

My wife, 5 yr old daughter and I went to this restaurant as we heard good things about it. We went for dinner and sat down. What happened next was absolutely ridiculous. A waiter of indian descent gives us water than looks at my 5 yr old and says your too young for glasses; I am 34 and dont have to wear glasses. I looked at my wife and was about to say something not too nice in retort to this but I partly think the waiter didnt realize what an a$$ he sounded like. But we cannot forgive such rudeness so our family walked out. So my recommendation, if you want your family to be insulted by the poor service, please feel free to go to Mint. The appetizers were great - assorted pakoras. The rest?? Not good. The Goat Biriyani was terrible. It was like someone dumped a flavorless sauce in some rice, added the worst quality goat they could find, stirred it up, squished it in a bowl, then turned it up side down on a plate. I ordered it medium heat, and it wasn’t even mild. The goat was laughable. I could barely eat it. It was all tendons and gristle. Barely any meat. I’ve had many, many goat dishes at Indian restaurants all over the Triangle, and this was by far the worst!! The naan was obviously store bought/frozen because it was perfectly round and tasted artificial. I just moved back to Chapel Hill. This place used to be awesome! The original owners must have sold it, because it’s not even close to what it used to be. What a disappointment!
