SD college is quite good college in comparison to the other colleges in Chandigarh . But the college dont even have a proper ground. They are claiming that in College there are lot of different types of sports and games which is totally false. Other than of this the infrastructure and classes are quite impressive. But not the teachers . Here most of teachers are working as guest teachers and they dont have the proper skills. Here the worst course is Bsc. This college is mainly known for its commerce department. So I dont recommend you to join this college for bsc course ...

I do not have much knowledge about other departments, but I can say Department of bioinformatics is really good. All the faculty are really well educated and they provide valuable knowledge by conducting presentation, through laboratory work.they helps the student after the lecture as well and their teaching pattern is good and easy to understand. Teachers shares their experiences with the students to guide them in proper path for their career... Regular updates regarding any research, seminar, job in related field are pasted on notice board...one thing I want to mention there are some need of more computer teachers such as teacher for SQL, HTML.All rest of things are really superb..Thank you all the teachers for your teachings...Blessed to have really good teachers in my life....

GGDSD college is one of the finest colleges after panjab university.It is very famous for its commerce department but little do people know that other departments are really good too.I am a biotechnology student in the college.My experience so far has been really good.I was always enthusiastic to take admission in panjab university itself but i did not make to the cutoff by a very small percentage.I was not happy but i took admission here, but as it is said god does things for good.I feel it was the best decision of my life because i feel more personal attention in given to students here and the practical aspects of science are taken care of too!

I am student of M.sc bioinformatics. My overall college experience has been enjoyable. This is because, the staff are friendly, professional and understanding to any needs that you may have. The facilities within the college campus are good as you can use all of the buildings facilities.The professors are very friendly and knowledgeable they always appreciate students to interact with other.

The department of Biotechnology is well maintained with modernized infrastructure. Excellent demonstration & learning of techniques. All faculty members are extremely supportive especially my favorite teacher Neetu Thakur. She has rigorous knowledge, practical skills & hands on experience.

The college is overall famous for its commerce department as you need quite high percentage to enter in this college but once you enter the college the atmosphere of commerce and science department is far different.About Science department, as I was a Bioinformatics student so I will talk about pros and cons:Pros:1. the overall staff and teachers are quite motivating. I will not take names but there are few teachers who are worried about you and they try their best if you arent doing good. You can go anytime to them and can ask anything and they will help you.2. In projects, they focus to give you whatsoever research experience they have gained from their professors and even they try to give extra.3. If some conference, workshop is going on nearby and they are aware of, they try to motivate students to participate so that they can have an experience of sharing stage as well as sharing their idea, project in front of well experienced researchers. So that the students can have one to one interaction with scientists.4. Overall Syllabus and curriculum is quite good.5. I have never seen professors who want more than them (more than whatsoever they have achieved in life) for their students.Cons:There are cons of every institution.1. Attendance issue: On the first day, you will be told that 75% attendance is required but college doesnt follow this rule seriously and hence students dont attend classes as they think they will pay the fine at the end. This is the only issue which needs to be sorted by the authority.2. Students think attending classes is waste of time as they will study overnight and will get good marks at the end but overnight studies will just give you marks. I have seen my classmates getting failure marks in end semester exams because of their overconfidence attitude. MOREOVER, Later on in interviews, those marks arent gonna give you jobs, research experiences as you will not be able to answer at last.Suggestion:If you are taking admission in this course, then you have to take studies seriously. Dont forget to have fun as well. As you will be getting a lot of chances to show your talent in some dance activities, drama, poem recitation, singing, painting etc alot more.Sometimes your teachers are gonna scold you but remember they want your best. They will even take some steps to make you study because this stream demands time.Listen to them! Respect them! Take admission and make everyone proud.I will say it again, G.G.D.S.D. Bioinformatics department has one of the best teachers, but you will only get success if you will follow their leads. Stay in touch with your professors. They know your best. Very good college. Excellent for studies. It offers around 20 courses. Professors are well educated. It also has a huge ground to play but not more of the palying activities you will see. Most of the sports are outsourced and students are used to visit outside playgrounds for training.

They will give very low internal in comparison to other colleges. Even govt colleges have better teachers.Attendance= last month they will say come to college, extract huge fineInfrastructure = arts and commerce block has poor infrastructure. IT block has good infrastructureLibrary = outdated no book on GST and companies act 2013. Even income tax books are old. Library staff doesnt know place where books are kept.Canteen= good eating court but average foodConclusion = if you are commerce student never join. I repeat never never never join. Your percentage will fall by 25%. Staff arr poor.Worst college. Athoooooooo.....

In terms of faculty and education, its a great college. But i had another issue with this college. I studied b.voc food processing and preservation. And this was the biggest mistake of my life.Never study B.VOC in Panjab University and its affiliated colleges. This is a trap!! B.voc is not recognised by any institute. Students can not take further admissions into their related fields. Even the Amity University is not accepting b.voc to get into a master course.Dont take chance with your careers. If you are thinking to consider b.voc, dont ever do that with your life.Panjab Universitys affiliated college has b.voc degree but even the Registrar of Panjab University dont consider b.voc anything. He was like, what? B.voc? B.voc kya hota h?He didnt help in anything! He didnt even took any action. Our whole batch, juniors and seniors, all are in trouble because we are not getting admissions anywhere after b.voc from Panjab University!S.d college didnt help us in any way to resolve this issue.The teachers are not answerable to us now!

FAKE HYPED COLLEGE IN CHANDIGARH. I am a student belong to outside UT and doing B.sc. I have 90% + in college and applied for admission based on public reviews.Trust me it was THE BIGGEST MISTAKE of my life i have conducted.The majority teachers in science are on part-time/guest basis and they hardly care to take classes.On the name of practical ,assignments are seen but NO PRACTICAL AT ALL.It was a peak time i realized that i have committed a mistake since all the admissions were closed in other colleges and we have paid HUGE amount of money (+1L tuition+exam+hostel fee) .If you are thinking to choose elective in science then i request you DONT do that at all either BIOCHEM, BIOTECH OR MICROBIO none of them are worth it in comparison to other science colleges since the faculty dont create your interest at all and busy in politics.The teacher dont even cover syllabus and during exams we all have to struggle to just to get pass.The clerical staff is just so annoying and every review about clerical is true very very rude.NO feedback system about teacher ,if you speak to teacher that we are not getting the topic he/she cut marks in internals.I request you please think thrice before taking admission.Try govt colleges instead of this it will be worth it.The naac and all rating is fake and is soley due to commerce and vocational department.Money minded people,rich brats everywhere.

Well ,To be true the phrase Dur ke dhol suhaney perfectly implimented on this college.We applied in this college via DHE based on public reviews .Since our desirable science subject combination was availble in this college.The initial impressions was literally very poor by rude behavior of management and principal.Since it was admission time teachers have to be polite.Since the college started the political environment started affecting studies. Science dept. especially biochem and microbio are not worth to study here-This i can say based on past semesters experience .Money minded people that create fake hype of college is the reason makes this college the so called famous.Every student is frustrated from teachers behavior ,as teachers are also frustrated from management ,and students are final target ,and to counter the situation students have to join political parties and whole system messes up and this reason No science topper in bsc level. However commerce dept. is good,this is reason for commerce topper are from this college.Prefer PU main campus for sciences.I hope management will improve if they want a stable intake in science.Especially on faculty of mentioned science depts. They are not teaching students up to sufficient level and this i can say on basis of student situation and feedback .

You can find some foreign national studying here also. Hostel is also available. This college has opened new branch in village Kheri Gurna near Ambala city and banur amidst the fields. Those who didnt get admission here can try for admission in the rural campus. It is good collage as I have also completed my graduation from here

Its a just like an average college in case of studies cant say worth for merit holders in 12th.However due to more of student diversity it is famous among local citizens. Lots of activities keep on going side by side but it always affects the classes.Election time is just insane that makes the college more advertised.Famous for its commerce department Bcom, BBA ,UoFV (Canada )are really good as toppers are always from this college whereas science dept really lags behind commerce dept .Biotechnology, Bioinformatics have better facilities and faculty than Biochemistry,Zoology and botany .Among all biochemistry is worst of all with only one faculty and no practicals and classes at all. Management is rude and not listen to students( as our first experience was really bad) and some teachers dont cooperate with student at all due to which student feels frustrated and takes help of student union.However in case of college vibe it is totally filmy i.e the image of college is just like you see in movies(good crowd,politics,activities,ECA,sports,fun but less study).Hostels are good and you have to pay huge fee to avail. it.From the experience i can say that its a totally commerce college and not a science college.When student gets frustrated from management and teachers they have to approach and join union to get help.Money minded just like any other college.Only being in Chandigarh it is famous else it is average college in studies.
