COVID VACCINEA week back, I took appointment for my final covid vaccination in Nehru Hospital Extension. Being part of the PGI, I was not sure about the hygiene and management but hold on, the day I visited, I was spell bound by the level of infrastructure Nehru Hospital has, I mean, I can compare it directly to Fortis (a giant private sector hospital). The staff was very polite and the vaccine procedure was straight forward with NO HASSLE or WAITING!The vaccination ward was not crowded and I think this is a big positive as people should avoid crowded places.They provided extra mask before stepping in the vaccination area, proper sanitization with needle being destroyed after every use and doctor was constantly sanitizing hands. So if you are planning to take vaccination, A BIG YES! Go and get vaccinated. Posting some pictures for reference.

💉 VACCINATION EXPERIENCE:Top class experience during my visit for vaccination at the hospital. Beautiful, clean and hygienic property, inside and out. Token system inside with 0 contact digital hand sanitizers installed everywhere. Social distancing is very well followed everywhere.The whole process of vaccination after entering the building, takes less than 10 minutes on average. It took only 5 minutes for me from getting the token to getting the vaccine. That includes getting all the formalities of registration. They make you sit for 15-20 minutes for observation. Also give your 3-4 paracetamol tablets for incase you feel feverish later in the day.The staff is very nice and helpful. Always greeted with a smile and were taking good care of everyone present there.Just finding the building might be a little hard. Especially the vaccination division, since there arent adequate and large enough markings or boards on the road.

The Extension Block of Nehru Hospital has recently been built. This block has not been formally inaugurated though it is partly occupied. This Institute is waiting for the Union Minister of Health and Welfare to give the date for the inauguration of this block. The Institute has been in shortage of accomodation for the last many years particularly for radiotherapy, oncology, neurology , neurosurgery and ENT. This block shall fulfill this deficiency for the various departments for sometime.

A far more spacious and modern than the old hospital block.
