The only good place to get Dosa batter in Chandigarh. Batter is good, not as good as compared to what you get down south but it wont disappoint you. Idly batter is below average. Not a big fan of their chutneys, way too expensive and not really great tasting. Overall, not a bad place for South Indian stuff.

I have visited there couple of times. Last time happened to see an unfortunate incident, a customer returning dosa batter telling that it is spoiled. She was unhappy about its smell. It is not even her mistake, because fermented dough smell like that. At my home in kerala we keep on using dosa dough for 1 wewk in air tight containers kept in refrigerator. So dont worry about that. 😃

Probably the only store in tricity that specialises in south indian and bengali groceries. The owners and staff are very helpfull and polite.

A karyana store, often confused with New singla store, both are selling most of the South Indian goods mostly belongs to Kerala, Tamilnadu and Karnataka, the goods from Andhra and Telangana are rarely found. But really a great relief to South Indian population lives in Chandigarh. The surrounding area is the place of food stalls where some of the South Indian foods are being served in evenings.

The quality of food isnt very good. Its something like going for a cheap food with cosy seating. I would rather prefer the street food available in next market block about 200metres from Karthik. Karthik has degraded its quality over the time.
