Very historical place the first gurudwara which one encounters while travelling from machiwara sahib is katlgarh sahib its the place where guru Gobind Singh Ji elder two sons were martyred. Just few away is the garhi where they all had stayed now at present it is gurudwara called garhi sahib. I had recently shown the movie char sahibzade to my kids so to keep the history momentum on we visited the place. One can also appreciate the mountains from garhi sahib. Even enjoyed the road trip along neelon river its so green and peaceful. Along this road lots of vendors sell organic honey (thats what they claim, but not tested) there is a fort before reaching the Chamkaur sahib but we were not able to locate it . Worth taking kids to this place to get to see the place which gave Us so much of history.

I feel blessed to visit this historical place.

Gurudwara Katalgarh Sahib also known as Gurudwara Shahidganj. Occupies a unique place among all the Gurudwaras located at Chamkaur Sahib. It is built at the site where Baba Ajit Singh and Baba Jhujhar Singh, elder sons of Guru along with his 37 followers fell fighting against the Mughal Army.

Chamkaur Sahib is a Sub Divisional town in the district of Rupnagar in the Indian State of Punjab. It is famous for the First Battle of Chamkaur (1702) and the Second Battle of Chamkaur (1704)fought between the Mughals and Guru Gobind Singh.

The two Sahibzadas and 37 Sikhs,attained martyrdom in the battle. Here stands a pillar,on which the words breathing the spirit of determination in the battle field are inscribed.

Their heroic deeds aganist tyranny,are remembered every year by grateful devotees. They assemble in thousands at Chamkaur Sahib to attend the Shahidi Jormela in the memory of the two Sahibzadas.There are five historical Gurdwaras at Chamkaur. Gurdwara Garhi Sahib, stands at a place, where once stood a haveli of one Chaudhri Garibu. This was converted into a fortress by Guruji to face the larger Mughal hostile force.
