Awesome place for tourists . Has numerous windmills since its a windmill project farm. Visit during monsoons to enjoy the lush green plateau and bloom. If you are a photographer or nature lover , you much much more there to explore.
AWESOME.This is the first time I have seen windmills , from this close. And those wings, those are just H--U--G--E..... From far away, it looks as if the blades are moving so lethargically, but up front and close, I DARE not say so. Also the sound when these blades do the rounds, is just unimaginable. From Kaas, Chalkewadi is approximately 45 kilometers. The road is scenic, and as the air was cool, it was a fun drive. The venue is not a tourist place, hence no arrangement of food etc available. But if you carry food (and make sure that you pick up all your stuff), one can seat at the shadows of the windmills and have a wonderful memorable snack time. Please do not dirty the area, this is still pristine.
Awesome place... especially in rainy season
A short and quick ride of hardly 120kms from pune, this place is amazing to sip a cup of coffee with your friends(thermos accompanied though :P)
Must visit if you love windmills
Lovley place in satara
The view is amazing.
If you visit during rainy season the visibility is just some feet and the foggy 🌫 weather makes the experience very wonderful. It’s also very 🌬 windy. The super big wind mills are a great view.
Cool breezy place, atmosphere makes you feel calm & peaceful. Completely silent & unnoticeable place. No traffic, no overcrowding, takes an hour & a half from NH-4 to reach by car. Note : no access to hotels, restaurants, dhabas, garages, petrol pumps. Make sure all these things in Satara city before heading towards this area. Overall road is good👍. Just loved this place!
In love with chalkewadi weather 😍
Though I visited this is place in heavy rainy season, the dense Fog and running clouds makes it feel like a paradise. You cant see windmills but can hear the sounds. The best time to visit is between 2nd week of September to the end of November.
Nice place to visit for all (kids to senior citizens). Many species of flowers can be seen here which are on Kaas plateau without any entry fee. Many numbers of windmills can be seen around this area.Best to visit in September.Road to go at this spot is bad for about 2Km patch.
Amazing place to enjoy view. Worth of visit.
Loved the place. Ideal for pre-wedding shoots and landscape photography.

Tourists rush to Thosagar to see the white waterfall sliding from the deep green. Thoseghar village is ten kilometers from Sajjangad Ghat. Red soil, dense bushes and grasslands create the feeling of being in Konkan despite being so close to Satara. There is a waterfall three kilometers further from Thosighar village. The joy of watching the water fall six hundred feet in the rainy season is indescribable. A special platform has been created for the waterfall, and two waterfalls, small and large, can be seen here. Of course, approaching a small waterfall is dangerous, and tourists need to take care of themselves. The area has been closed by railing. The distance from Satara to Thosagar is 5 km.There is a chalkwadi plateau about four kilometers further from Thosagar. Considering that the winds are flowing at a very high speed here, about 5 windmills have been set up. Many flowering plants flourish on this plateau in the rainy season. Some of these plants are also territorial.
