Visited this place for lunch. We ordered a lot of dishes to share between 2 people. The Whipped Avocado and Silk Route Momos were amazing; highly recommend you order this! The Charred Cherry Tomatoes were a bit spicy (for me only; I cannot handle spiciness but my friend liked it a lot) but I enjoyed the side sourdough a lot. The Dahl was absolutely fantastic and we were so full we had to pack this up because it is a big-ish dish like it says on the menu. My Fruity Green drink isn’t something I would drink daily but the blend was surprisingly good. Staff were friendly and nice. The location is good and just a few minutes walk up the slope from Central Station Would definitely come again for the food!Ordered:Whipped AvocadoSilk Route MomosCharred Cherry TomatoesDahlRed VeraFruity Green

Interesting vegetarian restaurant! Good value for money!Momos - looks like Chinese steamed dumplings but with spinach and cheese fillings. Texture of the dumpling wrapper is excellent - perfect thickness and chewy.Kelp noodles - served cold. Refreshing dish for summer time!Stuffed courgette - courgette baked with tomato and cheese.Cauliflower - love the idea of putting cumin seeds with potatoesMushroom curryNaanOverall, all dishes I tried today were nice. But would be awesome if there could be more variations in terms of flavours. For instance, for mains, both the cauliflower sauce and mushroom curry used coconut cream/milk(?). The texture and taste were pretty similar.

I had a great time here with my boyfriend as they were kind enough to take a few very good photos for us with our mostly gluten free and vegan afternoon tea set. The only bad thing is that this restaurant is actually attached to a hotel, so it appears to have seating upstairs when it actually doesn’t. Another group asked about sitting upstairs as well and were unable to do so. The café is quite small but has well-designed menus, and interesting foods to try.

Located opposite to the Centrium in Central, VEDA is a fancy restaurant that serves international vegetarian food. I have always wanted to give it a try, and restaurant week provided a handy reason to visit it with my cousin right before my yoga classes in Centrium. We decided to get one each of the starters, mains and desserts to share, so that we got to try the most on the menu. These Kathmandu Momos are hot steamed dumplings filled with classic spinach and ricotta filling, served with smoked chili and tomato achaar. Great veggie dumplings that set the standard of the meal high!We played a bit with the Street Side Pani Puri, which are crispy hollow shells, and we were told to fill the shells with spiced potato chaat and mint coriander water on the sides. Quite a bit of work there, fun and delicious though. A novel dish!As for the mains, the first one we eyed was this VEDA’s “Misoy” Ramen. The ramen was very al dente, toppings were a bit ordinary though…Second main was this Baked Aloo Gobi, a huge baked cauliflower with a curry and lentil sauce with crispy potatoes. We really liked the curry as it had a strong coconut flavor. Yum! Potatoes were great too! The cauliflower and lentils were very filling.Desserts were very delightful. This Fig Cheesecake was a slice of cashew cheesecake, garnished with fresh figs and flowers, drizzled in homemade caramel sauce. Forkful after forkful, until we finished the whole piece! The Negroni Pie was a bit magical to us. It’s a balanced and rich combination of white chocolate and orange mousse coated in Negroni glaze and topped with crispy meringue. We adored the citrus flavor, and the Negroni gave our taste buds a novel sensation!Seeing that VEDA serves legit Aussie coffee, I couldn’t help but get myself a cup of Flat White, and it’s a great one!!! Definitely coming back for the coffee, if not the food!

The food was good, especially the Whipped Avocado and the roasted cauliflower were amazing! Service was as good and seem to need more training. The space is extremely small and narrow, so you kinda feel on top if each other. The place is extremely hot and when we asked they said there’s nothing they can do. After some complaining and on our own suggestion they brought us a fan. The water in the bathroom, both flash and basin, were working on and off it seems so my friend had an interesting experience when she visited the toilets and nearly threw up. Towards the end of the evening, the lights kept turning off for 5mins! Perhaps it’s better to order at home, cause even though the food was good, the overall experience was bad.

I’m not a big fan of vegan... I’ve tried some of the best vegan restaurants in the world and it’s just too bland for me.I came across this place on Deliveroo and the presentation tempted me to order... even though I know that the favor may not be for me. I order the western sampler and it wasn’t bad. the package and presentation was equally good to maintain the same standard that you would get, if you dined in. My favorite was the dessert... that was perfection.

The food was extremely bland, I didn’t feel like I was having anything close to Indian food, when I ordered a Naan , they brought in a ready to eat Pita bread instead? And expected me to accept it as though it were naan. Pani puri was served with only spicy water and no tamarind water , which is supposed to the main element in a Pani Puri. (Wasn’t even available)As the food was really bland, I asked for some spicy chutney or sauce of some sort, and was served with Chinese chilly sauce and Tabasco ....a bit of a joke really

The hummus was good, but everything else was below average.1) took 30+ minutes (and well after we finished all the other food) to bring one main dish (Curry)2) Curry came with no rice (why??), and Veda charged $40+ for a small bowl of plain white rice.3) because of delay, we requested the Curry for takeaway. Another 15 minutes later, we got the take away bag.... And they forgot our $40+ dollar rice!!!

We had a lovely waitress. The decor is beautiful. The happy hour special makes it worth it to order cocktails, otherwise it would just be too expensive. The cauliflower half main course is a sufficient portion to share and tasted good with the naan. The Okra curry was a huge disappointment. I would say it is quite pricey and I wont return in a hurry. Good but not great.

Good food for vegetarian (a few vegan and gluten free options). Not so suitable for Jain or Buddhist avoiding garlic and onions.A much healthier version of indian and fusion cuisine. Food does take longer for lunch set. A la carte was faster. Dont come in a hurry. The space is tinny though. Sitting space around tables are tight. Not really good for bigger people or for man or pregnant ladies.Best table is the sofa corner table at the corner.Clean and modern toilet. This is not accessible friendly as only stairs are accessible to this place.

Having heard incredible things about this restaurant (and being that there arent that many vegeterian-centric places in Hong Kong to choose from), I was really looking forward to having my first meal there this evening with a couple of friends. We made a booking for 3 at half 8 this evening. We showed up around 10 minutes before and waited at the bar. We were told that our table wasnt ready yet but we were welcome to order some drinks while we waited. 10 minutes passed by and not once were we ever updated about our table. Many customers walked in and were almost immediately served but we had to keep waiting without a clue as to what was going on. We asked a total of three times about our reserved table and not once did we ever get a definite response. We understood it was during a very busy time, but we felt like we were completely ignored and disregarded. After asking them for the final time, the hostess of the restaurant hesitantly responded and proceeded to seat us in a corner table. We each ordered the vegan menu and really enjoyed the food and drinks. The decor and ambiance of the restaurant was commendable but the bumpy beginning of the evening really dampened our moods and made it difficult for us to fully enjoy what they had to offer - ESPECIALLY with the prices they were charging.

We went for the Veda x Alibi competition. Cool concept, but poorly executed. Truly style over substance for most items on the menu. Tasting menu sized portions without anywhere near the level of flavour; Momos were dry chewy al dente, noodle/spaghetti was just an assault of salty soy sauce, both cauliflower dishes were watery and flavorless (including the aloo gobi! hard to make a flavorless curry...), truffles very dry. The sushi and Alibi dumplings were stand out however and much more impressive.Staff generally very friendly, but too many and uncoordinated. Bringing second courses before clearing the first, or pointing and grunting at the cutlery to get us to pass it to them.Nice decor, and everything looked fantastic but veggies have so much to give in terms of flavour and for 500 a head expect wayyyyy more (750 if you had chosen wine pairing). Left hungry and disappointed.

Atmosphere:1. Seating is very tight - which I understand is expected for HK... but the table itself is so small that you can only have 2 dishes on the table at a given time. With 4 people sitting at the table (2 small tables combined), the 2 dishes and the individual serving plates/cups are all touching. It was quite crowded and difficult to eat. It was not a comfortable or enjoyable atmosphere.2. Food - I personally dont mind vegan/vegetarian food. Frequently visited Home Cafe, Treehouse, Mana Cafe, and other healthy restaurants which I have really enjoyed. The food at Veda was very mediocre.3. Service - the worst. When we received the bill from the waitress, we said that we did not receive one of the (six/seven) dishes. The manager then came and told us she herself served the dish. All 4 of us said that it must have been a different table because we definitely were not served. She insisted (one more time) and then caved and walked away. When we got the bill and signed our statements, we noticed that the dish was still on there. We called the manager, who said thats odd - I removed it myself. Clearly, you did not remove it yourself because the bill was still wrong. This entire settling the bill ordeal took 20-25 minutes from the time we asked for the bill. Please hire a better manager.

Having read all the reviews thus far, we decided to give this place a go.It was easy enough to understand what all the fuss was about. It really is deserving of all the acclaim. The staff are top professionals with a friendly and efficient manner. The food and drink combination works really well. This is fine dining that captures the essence of south Indian cuisine very well. The Aloo Gobi speaks for itself. The artichoke hummus with corn relish was the most astonishingly original dish of the evening. The Zaatar roasted carrot with kale was up there too.As there were 3 of us dining we deliberately left enough space for the Cashew fig cheesecake, WOW!The drinks menu is concise, not overly sizable and well curated.I was keen to try their New South Wales gin, I wasnt disappointed. My partner chose the Kombucha Spritz, a winner!Look forward to returning.

We had a wonderful time chilling here on a Saturday evening. We did have some unexpected problem near the end of our visit. They charged us extra for each naan bread whenever we wanted a refill without letting us know there is an extra fee.The waiter was nice and said he will discuss with the manager lady. But came back twice saying that he can only take off one order. Finally, I had to request to see the manager and discuss this issue with her.Later , things cleared up and they waived the extra naan bread orders. And by the end, the manager lady came again and assured us that they might need to change things up again as to what to do about notifying customers of extra charge. But overall was still a good experience.

Mediocre food, terrible service, unfortunate- and giving a bad rep for vegan dining.Seating is tight, tables are small and you cannot have more than 2 dishes at a time on the tablePani puri- not memorable, small portionMomo’s - better at local momo spotsCashew pizza - a burn flatbread with cashew butter and a tiny burnt piece of halloumiAloo ghobi- not bad and a decent portionGnocchi- also not bad, probably the best dish of what we orderedWe ordered a hummus that never came and when we explained this to the server at the end of the dinner, we were told that we were wrong, and that the dish was personally served by her to our table. We then politely told her maybe she served the wrong table and she insisted she served us and then said very rudely, “sure” and walked away. Worst attitude. When the revised bill came back, the hummus was still on there, and we told them again to please remove it.Overall a really bad experience and I would not recommend this place to anyone.

VEDA, located in Ovolo Hotels in Central, is one of the few hotel restaurants in Hong Kong that specializes in vegetarian food. Recently, in conjunction with the hotel groups Year of Vegan event, it has launched a new vegetarian menu! I took part in the media tasting a few days earlier and tried several dishes on the left. It was a pleasant surprise and a good meal. It was totally different from the vegetarian dishes that I usually eat in Hong Kong.
