You can feel the space as you walk inside as tables neatly folded into the corner. Friendly staff to serve you and the full course meal that is worth the price. Now theyre just 1 star shy away if they ever serve Guinness on draft. But thats my opinion.Oh, and get the bread and butter along with the soup of the day. Its that essential!
The place is great and well located but we go there to watch the soccer, and they have no snacks at all which is ridiculous. Also the sound is not good but I guess it is fine for a normal occasion...Overall good service and variety of beers.
I had not been here since around 2014 so was curious how things had or had not changed. Great experience, excellent staff and beer selection. Happy hour prices for pints are very reasonable for HK. An actual pub in Hong Kong while many of us cant travel.
Very bad experience. I came here for a few drinks and lunch at lunchtime but the awful manageress would not let me in because I couldnt scan the QR code. No paper to sign. Furthermore, there is absolutely no information on The Globe website stating entry will be refused for anyone who cant properly scan the code. I will never attempt to return here!! I will refuse to go here if the group I am with suggest The Globe. I am finished with this place, a place I have been to many many times previously. For anyone who needs a drink without the hassle, try TAP in Mong Kok - very friendly and nice staff.
Must use LHS app. Feel being discriminated. Not allow to fill in form as an option. Menu changed. Less selection of beers, no more tartar and fish fingers. Super disappointed. Won’t go again.
Great British pub in the middle of Hong Kong! Good place to watch sports
Nice cosy place with a great choice of drinks and beers in particular. One of the rare places to find English good that never disappoints.Very good service with friendly staff.
We booked our Christmas Eve dinner here after reading good reviews and comparing prices. The meal was delicious and served quickly. The bar was a bit noisy but it’s a popular expat spot. The turkey was on the chewy side but no other criticisms. Looks like a good place for groups and there were families there too.
Great pies and fish and chips! The Scottish egg was good too!
One of the best places to sooth the crave for decent pub food!
Good spot for a microbrewery pint. Its not too expensive during happy hour (from 10 am to 8 pm) (we paid 60 HKD for a pint of local microbewery IPA) and if you visit during the day, the ambiance is cozy and laid back. The staff are pretty friendly as well. Cannot speak on behalf of the food (western style food) or the ambiance at night since we havent tried either. We have visited twice so far and will most likely return again before leaving Hong Kong.#hongkongbar #microbrewery #hongkong
I fully admit the rating Im giving the globe is partially my fault but its like getting to know someone --- how they handle a tough moment can define the how you feel about them, right?!?!My husband LOVES beer, who doesnt these days, weve tried to check out all the craft beer spots during our short visit. They have a large selection of beer, my husband likes IPAs, stouts and porters, they unfortunately only had one IPA available and it was one he already had. Luckily, it was a good one, Hazy-something...anyways, I had a raspberry, mint ginger drink which was delicious and refreshing. I really enjoyed my drink! Also to note, I didnt have the food so this is just a review about the drinks and my experience. So if my husband and I loved the drinks why the stars...well Im an animated talker + was trying to ask the bartender about if they sold a beer glass and I ended up knocking over my husbands full beer. I felt terrible. I apologized profusely and the bartender didnt really say anything --- he didnt even ask my husband if he wanted another beer. He just walked away. In the states, the bartender wouldve just brought my husband a new beer. Instead we waited for the bartender to come back + then had to order another one. He should have asked if he wanted another one or just brought him another one. Thats why its three stars and I fully admit its partially my fault.
Everyone mentions the pies. To be fair they are some of the best pies I’ve had in Hong Kong and will make you a bit home sick. For me the pastry suffered the same problem every pie does in hk. The pastry was too sweet. But, the sweetness wasn’t too obvious and it’s still enjoyable.Good selection of beers and very friendly and helpful staff.Fix the pastry and it would be 5 stars for sure.
Stopped for a drink fri evening but good service and atmosphere.
Very good beer selection and they regularly change the lunch menu options
Amazing selection of beer, cider, etc. The manager (I think he was the manager) was incredibly knowledgeable and offered spot on recommendations. A friend tried the mixed drink he recommended and loved it. He also recommended a cider that I quite enjoyed. Great pub to hang out in. The only thing that couldve been better was the vibe. Perhaps some music or something to give the place some more energy.
Good food. Good selection of beers.
The Globe is a gastropub on Graham Street in Central District. This is a nice place for a round of drinks, traditional British food and a football match. Seating area is larger than most pubs in Hong Kong. There is an island bar with stool seating on all sides as well as a fair sized seating area with long communal and traditional tables. There are two tellies showing football matches and an overall enjoyable atmosphere. They offer a fair range of draught and bottled imports, including some fancy and high end varieties like Belgian Gouden Carolus Reserve and Westvleteren, considered by some to the be best (or at least rarest) beer in the world.During our last dinner at The Globe, we had the fish and chips. The fish was fresh, battered and fried well. Plenty of crunch to complement the softness of the fillet. Salad and chips fine and the side of beans ok. Overall, a pretty good fish and chips by our local standards. We also tried a traditional steak and onion pie. Pie crust was fine, steak and filling flavour ok, nothing special nor bad. Salad and side of peas were ok as well. This serving was less enjoyed than the fish and chips but not bad.Overall, The Globe is a pretty good casual pub to make way to when you fancy a nice range of beers and decent British pub grub.
Top pub. One of the closest to a proper British pub you get in Hong Kong
Great food and beers but only accepts LHS app check-ins so 👋
Great service, vast selection of beers, lovely vibe when its busy and every other Tuesday a really good pub quiz is hosted here (check their Facebook or call for their pub quiz schedule).Pilsner Urquell and Budvar used to be available at the same time, but Budvar drew the short straw and was unfortunately removed since July 2018. Ended up drinking pints and pints of Oharas as I didnt like pilsner urquell. Was extremely chuffed when Budvar finally replaced pilsner urquell couple weeks ago. At odd times they do serve a can/draught Kozel dark and I hope itll stay longer! (Lived in Czech Republic for quite some time)
Excellent beer selection. English pub style
Good beers, good pies. Whats not to like.
Cracking roast. Nice gin.
Pat and Paso are legends. Youll never meet a more professional, and at the same time welcoming staff. If you can write about the staff and not even mention the food and the beer, you know it is beyond good.
Noisy, atmospheric pub in Central, Hong Kong. Late for Sunday lunch, so roasts, apart from the vegetarian option were sold out, but what we did have (sausages and mash, burger and fish burger) came out smartly and were full of flavour. Worth booking for Sunday lunch. Good option for something close to town with good service.
Always a winner. Pies are fantastic, service great, wide selection of beers and ales. Management and staff always do their best for youCant fault it
Great atmosphere and phenomenal selection of drinks from draught and bottled beers, wines to liquor. They also have happy hour specials during the weekend, which is rare for Hong Kong. Try a local Hong Kong brew or a small batch distillery gin at The Globe. Its a great place to catch up with friends or have dinner with your family as well.I ordered a gin and tonic with fishers gin and it was refreshing. I would suggest for them to not put too much ice next time.
Huge list of beers from around the world. . The food is a very good gastropub. IMHO they serve the best pie, chips and gravy in Hong Kong. Really delicious freshly cooked chunky chips not stringy fries. The service here is also excellent with very attentive staff. Can get busy so book a table or call ahead if you plan to eat there.
My favourite pub in Hong Kong. Fantastic beer selection and really, really good food menu. Classic pies and decent British grub. A guaranteed fix for that homesick craving.
The best British pub in HK. Delicious pies and a great beer selection
Good beer selection. Food was below average. Its been a while since I have been to the globe. previously its been a great location for a few beers and maybe some food. I remember having a pie before which was goodThis time, the beer as usual was good, plenty to choose from and fast flowing. Got a seat at the bar with my wife as we were originally going to grab a quick drink on the way to getting dinner some wherewe changed our minds and decided to eat at the globe.I ordered the ploughmans. classic pub food in a classic HK pub I thought. However I was very dissatisfied. the pork pie was a mini one, looks like a mini pork pie from Marks and Spencers. The coleslaw was old, you can tell because it had started to turn to much. The ham had a glaze on it which told you it has been in the fridge for some time. So too was the cheese. Overall I was left very disappointedgo in for the atmosphere and I suggest avoiding the ploughmans. maybe have a pie.
The food is alright, but the service are quite unpleasant.
The pub styles itself as a British gastropub on Hong Kong and I think it achieves it. Great food selection and an even better and ever changing selection of craft beers.Well worth a visit, if you can find it! The name is only visible in the alley to the side. I had to phone for help 😅
Great place to go for a hearty feed. Excellent value.
Great beers at great prices.
Absolute fantastic service, will definitely b back soon, Atmosphere is great
Nice, kind of hidden, English pub
Ok not bad
Tuesday Curry Night is an absolute MUST !
Nice vibe, great food, great drinks
Enjoyable English style pub setting in the bustling heart of the HK mid levels. Great beers on tap, familiar pub lunch and dinner menu (try their pies!). A reminder of home for the expats who miss this kind of setting.
The Globe is probably the best restaurant in Hong Kong for hearty home-style cooking and craft beer. The selection of bottled and draught beer is amazing, great gin and tonics, the food is outstanding and great value and the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. The Globe is famous for its pies and with good reason. Freshly baked and deep-filled they are simply delicious but they also do a pretty mean burger - probably the best Ive had in Hong Kong. The beer battered fish and chips is really great also. Theres also daily specials and breakfasts at weekends. While away a few hours watching sport at the bar and chatting to the friendly bartenders or cozy up in one of the booths with some friends.A great place to hang out for foodies and craft beer lovers alike.
Once you get the heavy door open, its a beer and food lovers paradise. With an extensive international beer list, some of the most delicious pies in town and some of the friendliest staff around, The Globe doesnt disappoint. Pies come with a choice of fries, salad or mashed potato, and baked beans, mushy peas or green peas. If you dont want pies, the other food on offer is equally as delicious. At 7:15pm on a Saturday night I walked in and got a table but by 8pm, it was pretty much packed.
Genuinely good pub in Central. Scotch eggs are excellent. Huge range of beers and other food is totally fine as well.
Closest thing to British gastropub Hong Kong has to offer. Highly recommended.
Always a safe bet for good beer and comfort food in the heart of HK island :)
The Globe is one of my favourite go to places. Can always rely on good food, great drink options and friendly staff. Theres a reason its been around in HK for so long .... friendly & fun. Keep up the good work!
A very average place in all respects. Food was disappointing. And the experience was made strange when i ordered a black Russian and was delivered a white Russian. After sending it back I was then told by the waiter it was a black Russian despite having milk in it and therefore clearly being white!
Had a meal here great service food was good however the chips with the fish and chips where well overdone and we got charged for a drink we didn’t order, which after pointing out they correctly charged us
The OG of craft beer in Hong Kong and still a great rotating selection of local and imported craft beer. Great pub food too.
Great beer selection, friendly and efficient staff, clean, good layout - we like the booths
The best beef and mushroom pie in Hong Kong. Not even close.
