This is a rain forest, with various activities including hiking, bird watching, walking a course of rope bridges, and much more. If you want to see some of the wild animals, you have to do the overnight stay. We did the rope bridges, and it was fun, just to see how people react at something thats kind of basic. A good side trip, as you travel around Ghana.
It was a great canopy walk experience. A bit scary but worth it however its sad that its almost impossible to see any animals.Apparently if you want to see them you have to go there early morning or evening.I think they could create and expand the already existing facilities and include walks which allows people to actually see animals. For now it looks like a forest without any animals..not even ants.
Great place if you have the guts to walk the full length of the walkway. I love the trekking to the canopies however. The forrest is fantastic with very cool weather. The road to the place is now very good so nothing to worry about. Its worth the journey
A very nice place to visit when you are on break. The part I enjoyed most is the canopy walk.
Natural environment in its God giving settings, beautiful scenery and adventurous canopy walk.
This was truly a life experience to walk through the rain forest. And travel so high in the air over the valley on rope bridges awesome experience.
The canopy walk at Kakum Park is a great adventure for nature thrill seekers, who enjoys the blend of living on the with casual hiking.
I enjoyed the canopy walk and the hiking through the forest
Face your canopy fear! The rainforest is beautiful! Call Africa home!
Really worth the hype. Unbelievable experience with the canopy walk
Kakum National Park is a home for nature lovers. Tour guards there gave us explanations on the economic, cultural, and medicinal values of plants and the forest 🌳 . It’s about Fifteen kilometers from Cape Coast is the serene, golden beach of Brenu Akyinim. There’s primary and secondary forest among others but my team on excursions opted for the canopy walkway and it was awesome and fun ✨🌟
The entrance has been nicely upgraded and paved. There is a camera man who takes pictures of people on the canopy walkway and if you like it, it is printed for you.Canopy walkway needs to be spruced up a bit as a couple of them are a bit loose and adds to the scare-factor. Apart from that, I love the new look.
A beautiful experience. The canopy walk which is about 300m long is scary but fun. The nature walk is also fun. Unfortunately you may not see any animal because they hide from humans. If youre lucky, you would.
Very lovely environment, friendly and well informed staff. Lots of local and cultural heritage arts. Restaurant served variety of dishes. A Great opportunity for young adventurers and old ones as well. Scary but fun filled canopy walk. Adrenaline filled. Lots of people to easily socialise with. Great and neat environment, with a picnic park. Well demarcated with sign posts all around. Its a great place to visit.
What makes Kakum park a worthy place to visit is the thrill of you get during the canopy walk. I also enjoyed fresh coconut during the hornet to the canopy which is a good reflection of the fresh insight you get when you encounter variety of botanical plants.I was surprised to know that during early morning visits there are even elephants that can be sighted.
I felt good been there. The vegetation is one of the amazing places in Ghana
Lovely! Pay a visit!
It was beautiful and exciting
I was there 8years ago it was an amazing experience. Will love to be there again
A quiet place to be with adventurous spirit
The place is good
Fees for foreigners with student ID is 40 cedis, adults is 60 cedis. Different for Ghanaian citizens. Its best to go early because many people choose to come at around 11/12. You get to see more birds and animals early in the morning or late in the evening. During the day, the only interesting thing is the canopy walk. For those scared of heights, this should help you tackle that fear. Male sure you complete all 7 bridges! If youre interested in buying some Ghanaian souvenirs like bags, clothes, artefacts e.t.c there are 2 shops that sell them. So prepare yourself in advance. There is also a restaurant in the park.
Would be nice to email the certificate after completing the 7 bridges
Best tourist attraction
Excellent experience
Great experience. No pets allowed.
Nice place to visit.
Great Experience!!
Very touristic place, warth to visit
Canopy walks were fun
Good place to go for an adventure
This is a wonderful park. We took the opportunity to spend the night. Our guide Samuel, should be listed as a national treasure. What a love and reverence for plant life and knowledge of their benefits. I would recommend bringing a light sheet or blanket for the overnight. They provide mosquito nets and bare mattresses. Also, either bring your food, or buy some from the restaurant on your way in. After the night hike youll be thirsty and hungry. Well worth it.
Nice place
A place to have fun
The canopy is a must try
The canopy walk is great. Amazing views of nature from above, but no animals.
A natural park to be desired. The adventure. And the fun of it are always a wonderful memory.
Superb
Awesome place to come and visit for a full time adventure. The place interesting. all my visits to this place I really encountered interesting people that make the walk lively. I can go to Kakum more than 4 times a year.God bless you for all your great work
After the absolute disaster of the monkey forest sanctuary down the road, we didnt expect much. Wow, were we blown away by this Park! Beautiful walkway, great views, friendly staff and a very affordable restaurant. Everything was clean as well. Would recommend it to anyone.
Kakum National Park is Natural Reserve in Ghana. Fifteen kilometers from Cape Coast. It is a part of the Rain Forest in Ghana. Trained guides are on hand to explain the economic, cultural, and medicinal values of plants and farming. Excellent site for bird watching, canopy walkway, wildlife.
Quite a nice experience.
Nice canopy walkway. Food court available. Great tour guides made it fun doing the long walk. Non-Ghanaians should bear in mind that their fees are about triple what Ghanaians pay for every activity in there. So come prepared with enough money else its a long journey back home for nothing.
Really good stuff theyve got there..... Promoting the African tradition and culture.... Loved it👌I didnt try the food tho...🤔Loved the TV as well....who knew we could have cable TV in the jungle 🤷🏽♂️
I really had fun
Truly awesome experience, the suspension bridges offered amazing views of the jungle floor below, and they were so bouncy, I felt like a kid again. A bit scary if you dont like heights, but neither do I, and I flew 8,600 miles and wasnt going to miss it. Beautiful and educational, especially if paired with the castle down the road. Amazing Ghana....what can I say?
Kakum National park is a very cool place to be if you mind touring or going for sight seeing. Located in a forest zone, makes it more wild. Walking on the canopy is scary but a great experience.
Nice, but experience therefore that you wouldnt see any wild animals only plants. Dont eat pizza here the sandwich are better. The souvenir shops are nice but dont forget to bargain the price.
The tree house is just a wonderful experience if you are not scared of height, the walk on the path to where its located, everything is just so natural, I was also blown when we had to go on a walk through the forest in search of animals at night and the tour was a mind blowing one with so many revealing facts and the canopy walkway is just so breath taking in its natural state, the feeling of your foot on the board and the flexible/restrained ropes twingling by the sides of the board path guarantee your security while walking on it...I cant say it all, you just have to experience it yourself
The place is very tiresome. But must visit places. Dont recommend to go second time. Very expensive for outsiders. Not good staff. They dont negotiate well. You bring 60 people they dont give tour guide guy any discount not to mention free pass. They have very good canopy walk and tree house.
This is the entrance to the park. The park staff normally resumes at 9am but it is best to go early and enjoy a good view of the place.A visit to Kakum without going on the canopy walk way wont give you the full experience of the park.Morning times are often the best times cos the sun is not fully out.
Dis place is really awesome
I loved the history,experience,adventure...its was soo good.
The walk to the canopy walkway was extreme but Id say its worth it.
Canopy walk is a must try but could have been build much safer, some parts of the woods are broken and shaky. Otherwise its a good and worth watching
The environment is very conducive, and even their staff are good
Very nice and lovely place. One of the beautiful things about kakum is that you get to learn about a lot of things and also about the animal and insect inhabitants before you embark on the canopy walk— which is very very scary but fun. 10/10 I recommend. Btw, some people sold fake honey to me there.
The ropewalks here, over a beautiful and lush forest reserve, are something you will never forget. If you are visiting Ghana this is an absolute must.
Nice and green. Guide very informative. Not alot of support if you are nervous about walking across the Canopy.
Very serene place... naturally beautiful and therapeutic for personal and family time.✔✔✔
Wonderful experience once inside. Coming in was a lot of confusion with them expecting the van and us as foreigners. They assured us it was for our safety but was a little scary.
Good place.. But only thing there is in whole of this place is rope way bride of 350 MTS.. Hiking and all is fake.. You dont see any animals in hiking just walking in forest
Great Tourist Site..much more improvement to be done..very bad roads.. transportation in cape coast is quite difficult so come prepared. Also the Tourist Site could use more trained guides who know how to handle snake 🐍 attacks..
Kakum is a lovely place. I wish the place can be improved greatly by adding other tourist attractions to its beauty.
Beautifully natural!!!! I love it. Excellent tour guide
Good historic education, wonderful experience. thumbs up
Kanopy walk in Kakum is the height of tourist attraction. You can see many foreign and local customers all year round. Theres a food joint or food joints and lots more. Nice restaurant like place to sit and relax before embarking on the canopy walk tour. Canopy walk is insane but well worth it. Fun fun fun. Lodgings are available and a whole lot more. About 5 miles of Road leading to the entrance of kakum is very bad, only problem about the place but the experience is well worth it.
Excellent spot for team building exercise and family bonding. Loved every bit.
Fun place. If you have an adventurous mindset, you will definitely love this place.
Awesome place for retreat, relaxation , natural beauty...in fact I feel blessed to be there
What a height and scary... endurance test
Absolute must for visit, adventurous rope walk, back to nature)!
