Good quality food&2 for 1 deals!

Had a hunters chicken sandwich with chips for lunch, to be honest it wasnt very nice, chicken was frozen and the few salad leaves were looking rather tired too say the least... At least the cat enjoyed the chicken when I got home! There are far, far better places in Cambridge to grab a bite, fine for a pint though!!

Staff were very accommodating the lady with red hair (sorry didnt get her name) was particularly helpful and quick to make sure we had everything we needed. I also noticed when people left they thoroughly cleaned tables etc food was also good. Pleasantly surprised.

Great place. It was very quite when I was there. Theyve got a pool table if you like to play also have darts.

Lovely service and great beer. We went for the pub quiz, which was nice and challenging, but we a all had a great time out!

Love this pub. Staff happy to listen to requests for menu changes, and good is consistently good. A great local pub which we enjoy going to frequently and cannot wait for it to reopen after this ridiculous situation.

Cant leave a proper review as I didnt get to have a drink.This is just to warn people that the advertised midnight closing time may only be if you are already in the pub from much (or a bit) earlier.Arrived at 11.20pm on a Saturday stone cold sober and in need of a pint after a very long day at work.. just one (or two at a push) would have done it. Only to be informed by the admittedly very pleasant and apologetic door staff that theyd been told not to let anyone new in.There were loads of tables free and not mad busy at all.Completely stuffed the evenings wind down.Please allow your staff some discretion.

We spent two nights in Cambridge and visited here both nights. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere is great.

Had my first pub night since the beginning of lockdown and they made it the best night I’ve had in ages, great service from the workers.

Called in at the Rock after an afternoon visiting at Addenbrookes Hospital.26:08:2020Just needed a drink and something to eat .. ordered my Guinness and steak with Scampi topping immediately... was told food was an hour wait I said that’s fine and I will look forward to it .Three quarters of an hour later my drink turned up whilst others had been complaining and one asked for his money back .An hour and 15 mins the waitress came over and said we are out of pink slaw I said I will have salad then .. Finally 1hour and 25 minutes my steak turned up half way through eating it I remembered no scampi topping ,,so asked the waitress she said oh it’s on its way turned up just before finishing my steak four tiny pieces of which would normally cost £2.50.According to staff they were short of two personsAlthough I lived in Cambridge /Cambridgeshire all my life since 1953 .until last year and moving to Dorset this was my First time ever in this Pub and probably the lastUpside steak was nice and also the Guinness

Average pub, service ok

We have eaten here a couple of time prior to lockdown. Social distancing was adhered to. The place was clean and spread out. Booked in advance and was met at the door with a smile, which was nice! The food was nice, but wish I hadnt upgraded my fish and chip meal as it ended up costing about a third more than it should have done for the sake of 4 pieces of scampi! The 2 for £10 menu is worth it, but ask what youre getting if you go off of that to make sure it is worth spending the extra. Other than that, all good and would recommend.

We love the Rock, its our local pub. The food is nice and so is the atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a regular clientele but they are friendly to newcomers. Good if you like sports, with big screens but there is also a quieter area for those who dont.

Oops!Food here is really nice.There didnt seem to be many staff last time that we went in as the same girl appeared to be on the bar and serving which seemed a little unfair as it was busy but that may have just been a one off.Overall seems a nice pub, parking behind is a bonus

We chose this as a convenient stop on our way home. Not a bad meal... Not spectacular but then Im not sure we were expecting superb gastronomy.

Standard green king pub, although this one is starting to look a little tired and needing a refresh. Do not expect a flag ship feel.Comfy beer garden and smoking areas.Very roomy interior with plenty of seating and TVs to watch.Good local sports pub that is clean and tidy.

A little out of town, this Greene King pub has the feel of a friendly local pub. The food was delicious and good value for a particularly large portion of steak after I went for the double up option. Not spectacular, but this establishment is certainly above expectations.

I was working close to the rock, the sun was shining so I was tempted in. Very nice to. I was a bit hesitant as 30 odd years ago Id drink in the rock and you could almost guarantee there would be a fight. How times have changed.Well worth a visit or two.

Staying in Cambridge whilst daughter having an operation. Never been here before. Food was good, served up quickly with a smile, both food and drinks reasonably priced. Staff were friendly and polite. Unfortunately like a lot of well used pubs, the place looked tired, especially outside and needs some tlc.

Close to papworth hospital, friendly efficient staff, small car park, good outside space.there were 2 dogs on the roof /terrace and the small one was barking at us on our arrival.not a problem for me but could be off putting if you were not a dog owner...

An excellent meal, comfortable seating and interesting décor. Grandson enjoyed the pictures and small model bicycles.

Busy pub, pretty good food. Came here as part of a large reservation. Even knowing in advance they were going to have a lot of guests, they still ran out of quite a few menu items. My food was fine and the beer was beery. Some people had to wait quite a long time for their food, but we got there early.

Not a good experience. Went in for Sunday lunch... and after placing my order & waiting for 25mins was informed could be an hour & a half before I would get my lunch. So I excepted an offer to refund the cost of my lunch & went elsewhere. Not sure what the problem is as the pub wasnt by any means busy but I certainly dont expect to wait for 2 hours for Sunday lunch.

Lovely food 😊 Very friendly and thoughtful staff members, came and asked us if everything was alright with our food. One chap/staff member also came and asked us if wed like another drink and was even going to bring them to our table!! Really recommend this lovely pub, relaxed and happy environment/feel to being there ❤

Poor food - not much steak in the fajita, hardly any pulled pork and mac & cheese in my burger (looked nothing like the pic on the menu). The brownies in our pudding were like pieces of rock; horrible texture - both kids refused to eat. Disappointing meal.

Luke warm food , boney chicken on roast meal , not proper roast potatoes and had to ask for the stuffing. Poor service had to ask to be served. NEVER AGAIN waste of money and at their prices expected better

Some good ales and beers but nothing Craft. Burger tasted pre-cooked or microwaved a bit and only one strip of bacon. Sweet potato fries very good. Service good. Busy night with England vs Germany football test match on. Good crowd and lively place. Might give them another chance to watch a Rugby match.

1st time me and family ate there today. All the food looked and tasted great and at a great price aswell. Highly recommend for a nice pub lunch/dinner

Staff are great thats why we come here. Standard pleasant pub. Reasonable food for the money, you wont be disappointed for the price. Could do with a wipe with a wet cloth...

Nice place, came with a group of around 8 people. All ordered hot drinks that seemed to take forever to come because the young man in the bar thought wed want them all out together.after Id asked if we could get a few to the table so that they werent all cold.. which then meant I became a waiter for the bar by having to give my group table service!! However because the drinks took so long to make the drinks were cold by the time we had got them anyway so cold drinks and I didnt get paid for doing their job..

Reasonable food and pricing. Dirty toilets.But most importantly I am disgusted that the bar staff ignore blatant drug use on the property.

First visit to this pub to watch football on BT sport. Plenty of tvs to watch the game, big projector screen too.. Very nice atmosphere very pub. Friendly staff.. Food available too.

Driving today so no real ales unfortunately. Can now tell you that the Latte is a good one. Meals in the past always been acceptable.

The place is ok if you are in for a quick coffee. But if you need somewhere to sit and do some reading or quick work, the noisy atmosphere might get in the way.
