I have been breeding fish and crayfish for over 6yrs and I believe I have adequate knowledge about them.However every time I visit PetSmart(applies to all locations) they question about conditions of my aquarium and will comment about what to get and what not.I understand that they are trained to do so to make sure most fish settle in environment they deserve.But the employees should not interfere with what customers can or cannot breed without understanding the full situation.Other than that most of the employees are very nice and friendly and the merchandises are in good shape.

Chad was great. Very knowledgeable about puppies, which I came with a LOT of questions. He helped me find everything I needed and connected me with a puppy trainer who was able to advise me on things as well as talk about 1 on 1 training sessions (for only $229 for 7 sessions btw!!)Looking forward to visiting again soon.

Saw someone wearing a dog training shirt with a dog tied to a cart... Not sure i like the kind of training they promote here. This doesnt seem safe. Not professional either. Not to mention what happened if someone elses dog attacked that one, hes got no where to go :(

Every time I go in for my puppy’s grooming appointment, I’m never disappointed especially with the staff! Always so nice and helpful!:) I especially love the grooming service, and my puppy always seems happy and extremely well taken care of!:) Fluffy, soft, and will definitely be a repeat customer!

I’m mixed on this one. They have a good selection their prices are fair. Their sales are great. They even help with animal adoption and have a grooming and training services on site. But the staff here are poorly trained and offer poor service. They don’t acknowledge people waiting and just don’t seem to care. (One exemption. There is one groomer who is so caring and loving to your pet.)

This has been by far the worst place I have ever taken my animals. The groomers are rude and dont do their job, yet charge full price for half the work. I had called and complained after my dog was traumatized and was shedding more then he was when we took him in. All they said was they would put a free cut and wash on my account. Went to use it and they didnt even do that. I will never come back, nor will i recommend this place to anyone I know. Absolutely horrible

Loved this store until they started treating people differently based on their medical records. Their disgusting display of medical segregation is not acceptable. We will be shopping elsewhere until a public apology is issued.

I was so disappointed with the grooming salon. I’ve taken my dogs for grooming to Petsmart for years. I was in a rush and this was the only location fairly close to me that had a time that worked. I have two shitszu-Pomeranians and wanted to be fluffy for my wedding. I was advised that the difference would be much but I was expecting the sanitary parts to be trimmed and shaved. When I picked them up they were cute and jumping so it’s hard to see anything. When I got home it seemed that they forgot to shave and trim them. Nails were missing to be cut, their hair between the eyes was not cut, knots on the belly and sanitary parts not shaved/cut.I have them a review and they pretty much said well sorry you didn’t like it. I had to ask if I could bring them for a touch up once I couldn’t look at my dogs without feeling ripped off.I asked if I could bring them to another location closer to me they said they would put a note on their file.I took them to the Sunridge location and they were really nice and squeezed my dog in for some trimming. She did say that it did look like the last groomers completely missed those parts including grooming the belly.She end up charging me for it ($20) on top of all I had paid already at this location. I just paid cause in the end was not their fault in the other hand I am NEVER bringing my dogs back to THIS location.I felt ripped off and it felt like they were making me a favor to groom my dogs. As if I was not paying for it.

Ljubica is slooooowww. I always avoid her when theres an option for a different person to check my items out. If there is not, there is always a backlog of people, compared to when I see others doing the register alone. Its not that shes physically incapable of being faster. She just likes taking her time I guess. If youre not looking to get anywhere soon, shes the way to go.

Not as much harness selection for puppy as we thought. Glad we bought harness at another store. Food section was good though and we got puppy kibble there.

Had a better selection for birds than any other store Ive been to in the city.

This is a larger store. If you are looking for cat/dog or other pet foods and supplies, petsmart usually has the largest selection. Fish, reptiles, hamstars, birds, treats, beds, crates etc etc etc this brand of sgores is your best choice. Now the reason for the 4 stars was because a couple of their aisles were quite bare. Most in pets toys. Could be because of delayed shippments or something too i guess. The staff are always friendly and lineuos are usually short.

Booked an appointment today for 2:30. Havent even started at 4:30. They are really busy, will get to my dog when it is his turn... what is the point of an appointment ? My husband took the dog home ungroomed. Never again.

Lots of variety for dogs and cats! (Plus other animals I dont own) My dog loves it when I either bring her or get her something. Just recently bought a big shark that has 7 different squeakers and she loves it! Im also glad that they have an array of treats to choose from.Staff are super friendly and helpful! And the place is really clean as well.

Well we had some PetSmart gift cards my girlfriend got for Christmas, and decided to check out what they had to offer at the Chinook location. I saw the Treat reward system and decided to sign up. Ended up costing 12.99 for a box of cat litter. We ended up getting 5 of them, with the club discount the 5th one, and some change, were free essentially. We also got a rope post that the little bro seems to like, and a very durable fish pole feather toy thatThe other one loves. Great reward system. Lastly, the staff even went up to the top with a fork lift just to get us box #5. Definitely going back!

PetSmart is quite massive! It is clean and orderly too, but there in lies the issue.It is so massive and has so much selection of food, treats, toys and even pets themselves, that it can take a while to find something that you are specifically looking for.Asking Summer at the front register where anything is was pretty much a waste of time. I do not blame her. I can tell that she had just not received training and/or received tools to be able to effectively and efficiently answer customers questions. She should be given some kind of catalog on her computer that would enable her to tell a customer the location of any single product that is sold. She was very friendly and caring, but just lacked the support necessary.More effective signage above the ailes would also make it easier to navigate the shop.There were a surprising number of employees in the store ready to assist which is great to see. Many shops seem to have cut back on employees in general.Even when calling in with a specific question prior to arriving about Royal Canin for Schnauzers resulted in me being told that they did not have any in. I eventually found quite a bit of it on the shelf when I went. It is lucky I am persistent.Recommendation for PETSMART...please train your staff on product availability and location. Give them more tools to help them when they forget or are unaware please.

Always shop here. Staff friendly and helpful. Appreciate that they have pets for adoption rather than selling animals. Always have stock of what I need. Curbside pick up of orders since start of pandemic has always been very prompt and quite efficient.

Bought big bone for my dog a while back. He got sick and stomach infection. I thought it was something else. Then got the bone again a few months later, same thing!!! Confirmed. DO NOT BUY DINO BONES AT THIS STORE. UNLESS U WANT UR DOG TO GET SICK AND PAY LOTS OF MONEY FOR MEDICAL BILLS.

I booked my elderly dog in for a groom and not even a half hour later called us to come pick him up because he is ungroomable. He is the most well behaved dog you could imagine with a little joint pain in his paws. They werent willing to make any effort or accomadation for him whatsoever. Just come pick him up. The grooming manager was completely rude and anywhere else she would be fired. You need someone in that position to be somewhat compassionate because after all animals are very precious to their owners.Upon my arrival the girls in the Salon were all snickering away. Shame on you all!

Super friendly and informative staff. I only rate four stars as I ordered an online pick-up of a food dish, but my order was cancelled as it was no longer in stock. I went to the store the next day as I had to buy cat food anyways, but saw those same food dishes on the shelves despite my online pick-up being cancelled.Despite that, I still got the food dishes... so four stars!

So, we tried Curb Side pick up today and found the staff were awesome, thanks Petsmart on MacLeod Trail and 61 Avenue SW, you made shopping very easy for us.

Hayley is the only one Ive met at petsmart with a brain cell.Ive been going there two years, for aquarium supplies and I often hear them giving out false information and Ive seen them sell plants covered in cyanobacteria to novices. I explained to one guy why he shouldnt buy that plant covered in it and the girl working there was completely dumbfounded and had no idea what that was. (In fairness, she was open to learning about it but she shouldve been trained already)Like I said Ive been going there 2 years but not collecting points because the woman set it up wrong. I kept buying things but the prices never matched the tags, two years later it took Hayley 10 secs to notice the problem and rectify it. Good for her but how was it not noticed sooner, two whole years of spending money there!?I had a nightmare on the telephone as well but Ive complained enough. The straw that broke the camels back was today when after being hung up on the first time, I asked the guy a question, he put me on hold for 5 mins, then he picked the phone back up and said Chinook petsmart, how can I help you?Cheaper than other places but REALLY incompetent staff. Ive finally given up and Im just paying more to go to more local fish store downtown.

Great spot to get pet supplies for my cats, I really wish I have the deal schedule nailed down to share here but every few times I go cat litter is on sale and I always buy two big ol boxes. Maybe someone there will respond to this and share when the best times to come and get cat litter are!

Im giving 5 stars, cause I laughed so hard watching a (what I would assume be) manager following me around like I was trying to rob the place for its dry wall. I shopped here, and also had the Alpine pet hospital next door as my go to vet for my pets for years now honestly 😅(hurts saying years) and it was honestly embarrassing. By the time I was ready to check out I would have broke my own pinky to watch some other person run the heck outta there with something do with how he made me feel.I hate to say it, but what Im guessing is the stores head managed is truly getting old and finding reason to find his own worth at the shop. Sad, but its gotta go if Ill continue spending my 300+ pet expenses at their store ever again

For our new year we set up a spread and gold fish is one of the items. This year they refused selling me gold fish! The seller was rude and was even questioning me “what does Persian new year have to do with Chinese fish?” I told him that I need it for only 2 days and then I will put an ad for free so sb with an aquarium takes it! He kept repeating himself.I understand the concern for fish, but all the fish will die eventually, and how is it ok for Christians to kill/buy trees for new year and not ok for us to buy gold fish?! It is double standard and kind of racist.

Was one person getting fish when I arrived, waited 5 min for them to finish & another staff came and the two staff helped every other person that came after me.... had planned on leaving with $100 in fish and plants, instead left empty handed! Worst customer service Ive ever seen in a Pet Smart.On my way north to Pisces Pet Emporium to buy my fish!!!

We visited the store the other day in a kinda emergency situation when our fish tank filter pump failed.My child forgot his mask and while I could do the shopping myself, I was very happy with the store reaction at the new mandatory masks bylaw - they had set up a table at the front with sanitizer and BRANDED bandanna style masks in different colours matching their logo.Well done!Thank you for your support in keeping us safe and still helping us with our shopping!Because, you know, we might not be diligent in our health or so but for our pets we are :)

They always accommodate us quickly. They are willing to discuss treatment options and are very laid back in their treatment of panicky animals. Our dog has high fear trust issues and they are always calm and relaxed and take their time with her. We never feel rushed and all our questions are answered thoughtfully.

Went in for some fish supplies and plants. There were zero plants. Entire display case for plants sitting empty. Okay whatever, wanted a snail as well so I go look at snails, theyre all dead. Out of three different tanks with 30ish snails I only saw one moving and most of the shells were just empty. Absolutely appalling care for the fish here. However the employee in the fish section was very nice and tried to be helpful.

Friendly and helpful employees, missing stock but can be expected with whats been happening in the world.

Saw these guys snuggling a few days ago. I love this store, from products to pets to staff! I always have a great time when Im here.

Their online curbside pickup was not working. We went to the store and they had close to nothing for my puppers for Christmas. We found 2 small beds and attempted to wait in the line up that was 20 people deep. They had 1 single till open 4 days before Christmas. NOT ACCEPTABLE. Put the beds down amd left.

After recently adopting a cat I was excited to purchase a few toys for him. I had learnt that PetSmart had a kit available through my adoption agency. Before purchasing a bunch of toys/food, I had called PetSmart about the kit to inquire what was in it. They were zero help. So i went to place my order online, paid. Soon after received an email that multiple items were out of stock. If its not in stock, take it offline!I went to pick up my orders - curb side. When i got home, i realized they had only give me 1 out of 3 orders, including the kit. I called to inquire about the orders, having to explain myself several times, and finally to a manager who clearly had no patience for me. I was told the 2 other orders were there and to come back for them- no explanation, no apology, nothing. It was some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I completely understand when there are mistakes in retail, however you can offer and apology and be sympathetic when its on you.This entire experience has re-affirmed not to buy through a chain pet store and to shop local.
