Based on other reviews I did not expect much going to that place. However, it was better than anticipated. You can indeed go through everything rather quickly but they were not too strick on the time spent in the play area and in the butterfly aviary. You need to pay extra to get access to the climbing area.It is better suited for younger children as there is not much to do for adults (you still pay full price for adults).
My kids had a good time, though, since this place is mainly for kids, it comes across dirty. You have to be in socks and we had to go to the bathroom wash our hands, which was jot a pleasant experience. The playground was closed, though we were allowed to go around twice. My kids had a great moment, though, it’s very small, too little butterflies for the amount of people coming in.What’s important is that my kids had fun. If you’re looking for a quick activity with you kids, this may be a go to.
We took out toddler to see what is beautiful butterflies, he enjoyed the experience without touching. This place is a smaller venue than I thought. But it doesnt matter. The butterflies are beautiful, they will walk on your fingers when you hold still. The rules are you have a clean hand and dont touch their wings. They are fragile and delicate, need to be super gentle, calm and careful.
The staff isn’t competent to be managing a children’s place. The ladies that work at the dix30 have no understanding of children’s needs and/or sensibilities. I personally found them pretty rude, they didn’t want to answer my questions, they didn’t want to be bothered. Beautiful concept for an amusement park, but it will be much better if you had a competent staff that actually enjoys this kind of job, you are working with children.
My kids had lots of fun and we love the new, improved concept. The only challenging part was to respect social distancing as, in my opinion, way to many people have been granted access.
Amazing! Lots of fun, interactive experiences and friendly, engaging staff! 100% recommend!
Not a bad place but drove 1hour for 40. Butterfly housing small and kids area not more than 30 minutes. Nice clean but really not worth the money go to biodôme instead or Granby.
Nice place but expansive and extremely disorganized. Everything took way too long. Our son wanted to do the tree activity. That was 20$ more than the 75$ we had already paid for the family and they made us wait for an extra hour. We were always in the way. 30% capacity with covod but felt super full. A place u go at only once.
The place is of a very new interesting idea, especially with the crystals collection bit. It is well maintained, pretty clean and cheerful. However; it is too small for what we expected. We paid $50 for two kids 6 and 3yo at two different adventures (the butterflies and playground) which I found a bit pricy and we finished within a stretch (very very stretched) hour. I think the place is acceptable up to 3 or 4 yrs as max.
Totally does not follow covid restrictions. I feel awful for these businesses with covid but seriously You have to make an apt. but then the place is so packed your waiting in line. (Not to mention you can’t wait in line and stay 2meters apart). The place looks much bigger than photos shown. Your standing on top of each other. Not to mention the people working there were not helpful at all. I was so disappointed, had such high hopes for this fun activity. Not to mention the poor butterflies just getting run over by strollers.
The place is great but unfortunately it was not as pleasant as our last visit. Apparently the bracelets were not working and on the climbing section, there were not enough staff to take care and supervise all the children.
Positives first: For the main event, you wander through an enclosed forest - call it 40ft x 80ft or so - full of faux trees and flowers and little animated sculptures and, most importantly, and not surprisingly, butterflies! Hundreds of them. Some of them might (probably will, if youre patient) land on you - you can coax them into doing so by luring them with a nectar-covered sponge on a stick that they provide you. Its neat. Certainly a novel experience. Now for the rest of it. Theres a mirror maze that was decommissioned from La Ronde 20 years ago. Theres a large jungle gym stolen from McDonalds (ok, not really, but you get the point), theres a mini indoor Arbraska/Tree-Go climbing/zipline thing (additional cost), and theres a big ol gift shop. These latter are really just filler. Our 6yo enjoyed it, sort of. She seemed to enjoy the jungle gym most and got bored of the butterfly room.Calling it a 1h activity is a stretch. Theres very little for the parents to do other than simply accompany the kids. When I judge value compared to a multi-hour movie or large jungle gym style location, or a full day activity like an amusement park... this doesnt really fly. Youre paying for novelty. Might be neat once for the younger kids, and then thats probably it.
My toddler liked it. Suitable for younger kids. It’s not a big place.
Place is quite small but well organized. The full activities package includes climbing, the park, the mirror labyrinth, butterflies and the trades around 40$ and it takes about 2h to do the full activities. Its worth it since if you pay each activities is more than 40$ labyrinth 5$, butterflies, 6$. Adults have to pay too to have access and go in with their kids. Theres a boutique and a snack spot. Theres a 2d floor too good for groups and bdays. Place is located at quartier 10/30 Brossard. Some improvement I will add is that an instructor should be hanging on the trades with the kids when they kind of stuck or wanna go down since they use a ladder to bring one down and it wasnt really practical. Also the entrance and the exit should be different to prevent to many ppl in same place at same time especially rush hour. Finally really good idea to reuse bracelets and add the jewels mission for the kids.
Overpriced, packages not clear, staff no trained and won’t explain to you what to do. Avoid as it is very expensive for what it offers and for the treatment you get.
We went there to see the butterflies and it was the biggest disappointment Ive had. A total waste of your money! Dont even go there. We even talked to the girls there attending us and told them that they couldve warned us that there werent any butterflies and they didnt care, they simply said oh it happens and that butterflies only have 4-6 weeks lifespan. Never going again and I dont recommend at all. They tell u to see the butterflies takes 45 min, but it only took 5 minutes!! Total rip off
Awesome experience..awesome staff and amazing manager (vanessa!)..definitely visiting again!
Beautiful place, friendly staff and serious covid measures put in place.
My two year old loved the butterflies !!! Its very warm inside dont wear a big sweater lol
It is a lot of fun for children
Very good place for kids! We had a lot of fun.
Their gift cards are not magnetic. This was a Christmas present, so I hadnt the purchase proof in hand. Impossible for them to find out on their system info during the weekend.... I lost an hour with 2 little impatient kids at the entrance. Electronic bracelet not working Really bad experience:(
Really nice my daughter loved it, butterflies are beautifull great experience
Love the experience. Went with my kids they enjoyed it. Cool concept but honestly I am a bit against it after I’ve experienced it. Some people steps on the butterflies. They are so fragile that their wings could ripped appart. The playground was cool but If the AC was higher or gets to the top that would be great or else you sweat like crazy.. collecting the gem was fun but all this effort for a tiny rock.. yes a tiny rock.
Its was OK experience.. its a small place so youll be done with everything in about 30 minutes.. we only like mirror maze which is done in 4-5 minutes, butterfly park is not that big and not that many butterflies.. and they are not very active and looks sick (unhappy). The rope climbing for kids is good but super expensive. We bought a deal on tuango still think paid too much
I think the good reviews here are either friends or paid reviews. It was horrible. We paid almost $50 for 2 parents and 2 kids under 3 years old. The butterfly exhibit can be done in 10 minutes but the website says an hour and 15. As someone mentioned, the gift shop is practically bigger than the exhibit room. And the butterflies do not look like theyre taken care of! Many of the butterflies were either dead or had broken wings. The interactive game in the end crashed on us TWICE! The staff offered to print out our kids photo with another kids name instead. Of course, thats just weird. The storyline for the movie/exhibit tour is ridiculous, with made-up animals such as a lion/dolphin/zebra hybrid... So weird. The storyline is just to give a reason to add more money, with speakers at each corner for kids to follow but none of the kids cared to even follow the that...Anyway, of course the kids still had fun because theyre easy to please at that age. But it was a one-time thing. Never going back. Totally a cash grab for the business owners.
Great experience! Lise, the woman that is responsible of the butterfly section is such a sweet person and really took the time to explain us everything 😀 thank you again!
I was disappointed about my experience. First off, we arrived and realized that there is mega construction happening. I didnt see this info on the website when I looked before going. The butterfly area was still open. We got a discount because of the construction which was great at the beginning. There was a movie to watch for 5 minutes before going in. To enter the flying area there is a cute slide with lights, my toddler liked it. Once into the flying area, I realized that it was really small. In 5 minutes, we were done our tour. I tried to stretch my way out to make my money worth it. There were a few butterflies but nothing close to botanical garden, I expected more butterflies. I saw multiple visitor touching the butterflies and chasing them while an employee watched. One butterfly stopped moving in a visitors hands and fell to the floor. The employee just picked it up and brought it who knows where, like if it was normal. Many of the butterflies had broken wings not just small parts, I didnt see that at the botanical garden. I asked an employee where were the butterflies because there were not many. The person told me that its not the high season and they are resting. I did see a few resting around but not that many plus it was very confusing to see decorative butterflies. There is a cave like area, I dont understand its concept. I tought it was for night butterflies but I searched and didnt see any. There are 3 pouponiere, it was great to see butterflies coming out, it was the only cool thing. I came from Laval to see the exhibit for a 5 minutes tour that I tried my best to stretch it to make it 15 minutes and paid 30$ plus the gas. Maybe once the construction is done it might be worth it but I will never go back.
We brought our 3 year old granddaughter to see the butterflies. The cost was high. Paid 42$ for the three of us to see the butterflies. My granddaughter enjoyed it, but not a place I would go again.
Really nice place for young kids (3 to 7) after 17hr
We did the night adventure and the day one. At night the story is a lot more immersive and the projection displays on the wall fantastic. However the butterflies are not very active.During the day the adventure isnt as engaging and going through it takes about 10 minutes. However there are a lot more butterflies that are active during the day.If you want to see butterflies go during the day.
Very fun for kids, the butterflies are all around and they land right on you. Theres even slides, rock climbing and a mini zip line for older children.
Overpriced and the butterfly room is basically a slaughterhouse. Most are either dead or injured
If you have kids, you have to bring them here. If you dont, they are missing out on something fun and educational.
Too expensive ..I paid more for myself to watch my 7 yr old grandson play in the structures. Not many butterflies to see. The extra we pay tor the mirror area was also a bit much and also sharing of gloves that are manditory for the mirror area. I did not like this experience. The entrance and exit is the same...and is a small area and confusing.
This place is horrible. Butterfly gardens in Montreal is way better and way worth the price. This place was overpriced and the thing that bothered me the most was that the butterflies were clearly not being taken care of properly. A lot of them had wings that were all ripped up. It was horrible. It was sad to see all these kids and even adults mistreat the butterflies. I felt bad to support such a place.
Went at night thinking it would be fun for the kids, we saw 2 butterfly, out of the 9 screen with games for kids, 5 were not functionnal, was supposed to last 45 min and had enough of 10 min to do the round, luckily it was with a Tuango deal otherwise would of asked for a refund, wouldnt recommend it at all..
The experience was well developed but the execution was mediocre. It started off with so much promise but then the size of the space attributed to the actual activity was deceiving; the gift shop is the biggest area.If the price point was lower, it would be acceptable; thankfully both my children are under 4 so I saved $20. But due to the fact adults pay $12.50 & kids over 3 pay $9.50 I do not see how ~30min (if you really take your time) can justify $50 a pop.I find it hard to believe they get a lot of repeat customers.
The size of the actual exhibit is quite small (and is in fact smaller than the gift shop that you have to walk through to get out). But whats worse is that there were hardly any butterflies. Many were either dead or mechanical! This should concern anyone, since it doesnt seem like they have the butterflys interests at heart. It seemed like many people were manipulating them in a way that could harm them and/or stepping on them. The botanical garden butterfly exhibit in the spring is much better if you actually want to see butterflies. Like many others mention, the experience is done in about 20-30 minutes. Fortunately, we had a tuango coupon for $22 for the whole family which was a fair price. If you pay full price, I wouldnt consider that its really worth the money.
It was nice but it is catered more to smaller kids. My 10yr old daughter found it a bi. boring.
A lot of fun for kids as they learn to pick up and hold a butterfly. Butterflies fly abouy freely.
Very nice place for kids and adults as well! (and clean)
Kids loved it. A bit small with the ongoing construction but cant wait to go back for the reopening to see everything!
Ok place. Super small, not exactly worth the price. Daughter liked it, though, which is what matters.
Wonderful expérience, greatfor kids even adults a great learning experience too
Its a good place but I expected more .
Expensive for what is it. Introductory video is long and the story is not as refined as it could have been. Small butterfly exhibit area, BIG giftshop with expensive items (ex: 40$ puzzle, 40$ night lights, etc). Would not recommend
Fun 45min activity with an educational side!
Pricey and no English version for the short story movie they have you watch. Nice selections of butterflies though.
Top
Very bad customer service. Very small, kids liked it though. A place to go just once.
A place you visit 1 time... Nothing to write home about.
Beautiful place. But a little short as a tour/story.
Nice place but too short and not very educative , expected more for the price you pay
Commercial and the room was small. A little worried the butterflies were not looked after with the visiting groups.
Way over priced and way to crowded.
Very short visit. I dont see how you can spend one hour there, the place is very very small.
Nice place to visit with kids
Very good choice for children, only a little small
Overpriced and small room with butterflies.
Fun adventure!
Great place for toddlers
Really cool experience
Great place for the kids!!!!
Great place for kids,
Awesome
A bit expensive for what it is!
Cute, but short
Not what i expected!!!!
Very disappointed by the organization
Wow
Amazing experience!!!!!
Fantastic concept! The kids definitely enjoyed themselves. We were disappointed that a significant amount of the gamified activities were broken down. They also didnt have the toddler space open which limited the activity for our 2 year old.
Great the staff is very cool!Beautiful, enchanting decor! My little son 4 years old almost 5 years old and I had the chance to be alone at the end of the activity so take the opportunity to have fun and take up space! The labyrinth looking for crystals good idea, to have a surprise at the end of the day, the little butterfly film was good! I thought I would see more butterflies! It has quite a few anyway and we took it on us it was great!
Wow 😍 the butterfly aviary is beautiful. We really liked the experience. To see at least once and the entry price is not too expensive. I even have them 3 butterflies on me, on the thigh on the shoulder and one on the hand. Butterflies are really beautiful. The crystal labyrinth is a lot of fun, children like to go in search of crystal with their bracelet. Too bad that with the Covid they could not have their reward at the end of the course.
Customer service was poor, some of the staff on site was rude (Ive never seen this). Some sensers to scan our bracelet did not work. At the end of the course, the screens were not functional to receive our certificate !!! We were never informed that the stone we received after the course would not be returned !!! The answer received was: we did not receive the order for his stones ... On the website he did not even mention that it was not possible. Breach of the safety of butterflies, some visitors did not respect the regulations and no employees intervened !!!. On the positive side, I took some great photos and thats the only positive point. I can add that the price of the stockings and their quality is excellent.
Like the butterfly event at the insectarium but at $ 75 for the family. The small play park, for 3 to 12 years old only, is only accessible for 30 minutes. There is a window at the top so they can see the butterfly room. After 20 minutes, they had pretty much done the tour. The boutique part in the middle of the room too ... Its a funny choice. Next, a mini mirror maze. We must put on gloves so that there is no trace of fingerprints. Then we can access the room with the butterflies. We can take the butterflies and all ... Is it worth the price ... Its up to you.
Follow us on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube for more adventures. We loved our daytime experience in the butterfly room 😱😱😱😱. It is magic. Beautiful. The decoration is so well done that it feels like a fairy tale. 😄😄😄. Lots of butterflies everywhere. The smile you get when you see them flying everywhere. 😁😁😁We were able to take it slowly. Oh that tickles our fingers 🤣🤣🤣They have a nursery and its super cool to see them come out of their cocoons. We saw 2 of them.Normally they have the Structure Park, Climbing, Tree to Tree, and the Mirror Maze.We loved having a butterfly room in our house 🤣🤣🤣🤣.
The butterfly aviary is very beautiful on the other hand for the rest it was quite average. Quite small so poorly suited for strollers, even more so for double strollers in my situation. There is only the play area 3 years and + accessible the area for 0-3 is closed because there is a ball pool and they dont want to wash them every time (I think they could have reduced of 3/4 the quantity of balls in order to give the right to play to all). In addition, in the aviary, we are given a stick with a sponge soaked in water and sugar but they only give 1 per family, so family of 3 children creates some conflict (in my opinion they could have given one per family). childrens ticket would have been more logical). My visit lasted about 30 minutes (and we took our time) as my children did not have access to the games, it is much shorter. I found that, for an activity of almost $ 60, it was pretty ordinary.
