I love Namaste. Whether delivery or take out, the food is delcious, the service is wonderful, & it’s officially my go-to Indian spot in Park Slope where I live. And really, don’t sleep on the backyard patio!!! So, so peaceful & fun!
Food is good, service is good, and the space is clean. The dishes are all tasty and authentic. Indian food in Park Slope can be hit or miss, but Namaste has done a very good job! Lots of takeout and delivery orders flying out the door, and they have a backyard for dining as well!
Ive never gotten food from this restaurant before, but I can promise Ill never order from here again! Not only was this the absolutely *worst* Indian food Ive ever tasted, its in the running for worst take-out dinners of all time. Seriously. Its not only that the food is in desperate need of seasoning and its incredibly bland, it actually tastes like it was prepared by people who have zero understanding of basic Indian spices and completely lacks the richness and depth of flavor that Indian food is deservedly known for. The texture of every dish was somehow wrong, too.The papadum was rubbery and chewy, which is the LAST thing papadum should ever be. The vegetable samosa was partially burnt, painfully bland, and was seemingly wrapped in the wrong dough. It was unlike any samosa Ive ever had and not at all in a good way. The gobi manchurian tasted like cauliflower bathed in straight ketchup. Ive made it at home before, so Im aware that sometimes ketchup is used in the recipe as a shortcut, but this was like they just squeezed it out of the bottle directly onto the battered and fried cauliflower, which was oddly hard, yet chewy, not light and crispy, as it should be. The aloo paratha was greasy, flavorless, and also had no salt anywhere in evidence. Bland and oily, completely inedible. The chicken tikka masala tasted more like a poorly executed Italian tomato cream sauce than anything resembling Indian food. I didnt even bother tasting the rice and rice pudding that came with the meal.I literally cant eat this food and I cant fathom how this place scored 4.4 stars. Im genuinely confused how that could be possible without a lot of fake reviews. Despite a ridiculous number of restaurants always opening and closing (even pre-covid) in this neighborhood, I think Park Slopers have been without really great restaurants for so long, that theyve forgotten how truly delicious food should taste. Ive lived here my whole life and Ive seen some great ones come and go. I wont be sad if this place folds. Im actually offended at how bad this meal was and that I paid for an entire meal that ended up in the garbage.Do yourself a favor and skip this terrible restaurant!
Stopped by on a Monday with my friends. Appetizers were amazing but the service was even better. Am tinder took care of us and I can’t wait to return with my family. Please stop by and try this gem.
Some really great food. The 12$ lunch buffet is the best deal in park slope. Its delicious jasmine rice with 6 different dishs to have on top. The day I ate there they had mushroom and spinach , lentils and tomatoes, mixed vegetables, a potato in sauce, chicken tikka masala, a spicy green chili chicken. Went back for 3 plates. Only 1 spicy dish. Really nice staff and a beautiful backyard dining area. I have to come back for the dinner menu.
Greatest Indian food in NYC. I tried almost everything.. if you love Indian food you should come try.. they have nice and clean Garden.. nice music.. all the workers are very friendly.. 10 on 10 no doubt👍👍👍 the best.........
I have had tasty food delivered from here a few times, ate in their back yard, and came for the lunch buffet. I have enjoyed it each time and like the bread and Palak Paneer because it not too oily or creamy like some places.
Walked by to order food... Bc I wanted foods but they encouraged me to stay for buffet! I usually dont do buffets bc I dont eat that much. I wish I could take it all home!!! And eat throughout the day and week! Got a mango lassi too! 💛💜
I had been here once and what a service. The food was quick and warm. They served us with utmost hospitality. The food was more than expectations- it was spicy as wanted, masalas were perfect and best veg food I had ever. If you are traveling through Brooklyn do visit the place.
Waiter got our order wrong, but the food was okay so it was not too much of a problem. I was really hoping to get some chana saag as it is not always available on most American-Indian menus. The naan was soft and delicious. We could have used some more rice, though. Chairs in the outdoor dining area are very uncomfortable and awkwardly designed. My partner was leaned far back from the table for the whole meal.
I came here for their lunch buffet and I was very amazed by the amount of selections they had out. They had about 8 dishes you can choose and eat from and the best part is you can sit in their backyard patio and eat. All of the dishes were rich in spices and taste. It was a very good experience and I can’t wait to bring couple of heads back to try out more stuff. The service here was also very pleasant and sweet.
Their food is amazing! Just what you need for your next family gathering! Highly recommended!
Great lunch buffet they had okra masala, so good
Nice neighborhood restaurant. Cauliflower appetizer is to die for. All the staples are on the menu and staff is really nice.
Really some of the best, affordable Indian food you can find and I’ve had a ton of it and spent two weeks in India. Since I found this place I’ve had no reason to go to any other Indian restaurants, really don’t think I could find anything better if I tried.
This place is amazing. I didn’t know what I wanted for dinner and then there it is right in front of me. I ordered Saag Paneer, Garlic Naan and Tandoori Malai Kabob (chicken). This is by far the best Indian I’ve had in 7+ years!!! Maybe forever! Everything was perfect. Cooked just right, fresh, flavorful and done early for pick up. I’ll ABSOLUTELY return here soon for more!!!
I have to say, I enjoyed every single bite of my meal from Namaste. The food was absolutely wonderful from presentation to preparation, very pleasing and delicious! Must try the Chicken Tikka Masala! Perfect amount of spice and flavor. There was plenty of meat in the dish and it was moist and tender. Definitely check this place out for the best Indian cuisine. Will not disappoint!!! And also a special Thankyou to staff member Harry for taking care of us and providing such excellent service! An experience to remember. Thankyou Namaste !!
I tried several dishes, as I was uncertain what I wanted. Everything tasted good! Id definitely try them again!
I had a rare opportunity to housesit for my sister in Brooklyn last week. I now reside in Harlem but was born and raised in Brooklyn so it’s always a treat to get back. However this afternoon would be an exception to the rule as I found a hidden gem at 195 5th Ave. called Namaste. I was coax through the door for a wonderful idea of an Indian buffet lunch at $12 including a glass of wine. As it was humid out the prospect of a outdoor garden patio was also a delight. Greeted with a smile from behind the mask was Harry tall young man with a welcoming and gentle demeanor . And then the smell… that amazing aroma! Coupled with the ambience and the music transported me for a moment to a scene out of Shantaram. To start the basmati rice was so fluffy light and tasty it could’ve been a dessert. The Daul the chicken and everything else (which changes daily) is a treat for the eyes and the stomach and all the senses alike. I was hot outside but the unbrellas abound to shade those who wish it’s shade but offered full rays for delight to likes of me and I had a wonderful meals on the patio while I finished off a novel. (And two more glasses of wine). In the end all I could think was I can’t wait to bring my sister here.At a price point that allows the entire family to feast well and is healthy regardless of whether you’re vegan or not, do not miss an opportunity to dine in this wonderful establishment. I’d be remiss if I did not mention Mr. Singh, owner, proprietor of the establishment who you may just come back to have a conversation with and then of course try the food again. Appropriately named… Namaste!Treat yourself!
Excellent! If you want Indian food that tastes homemade or made from scratch, this is your place. What they serve is not the same generic Indian you get at other places. I’ve eaten at just about every Indian restaurant in the city and the food here is uniquely its own. I’ve ordered a variety of different dishes here and they’ve all been excellent and tasty. The service and staff are always friendly and welcoming.
One of the most consistently delicious restaurants in Park Slope. I order from here multiple times per month and the food is always fantastic.
Great food and super friendly staff!
Yummy Indian food! Outdoor dining in the back. Nice people working there. Will go back again.
Unlike many others, this is the Authentic Indian restaurant. Owner is friendly, he pays attention to details. The foods taste fresh, delicious and healthy. It worths me driving 40 mins on weekly basis to enjoy the real taste from India!
Best Indian food ever!! We stumbled upon this place as we were looking for some late night eats. Even though it was late, we were greeted and welcomed with the greatest hospitality. The food was absolutely amazing. I had the samosa chaat, chicken makhani and garlic naan. My boyfriend had the lamb rogan and his friend had the chicken tandoori. The quality and taste of the food is definitely worth going for. I highly recommend!!
The food taste like it was made from yesterday‘s cooking and the chicken was raw
Great selections and clean covered patio for outdoor dining. They have a large lunch buffet and several vegetarian options.
The food was very bland even though I asked for hot sauce to give it more spice. Naan not included in lunch buffet!
Stellar. Best pakoras I’ve ever had. Will be coming back, next time with friends.
This place is awesome! Fair pricing, large portions and the staff are consistently kind.
Good Indian food, and a number of vegan choices.
I am receiving daily marketing text messages. I have replied stop each time. Please take me off your spam list. I understand that most restaurants are suffering with little to no staff right now, but take me off your list!!!!
Love this spot ! Tikka Masala, Korma, curry, all are very good
Delicous traditional Indian cuisine that always hits the spot. Their cheese Naan never dissapoints.
The best Indian food. We go every Sunday and sit in their lovey backyard. If its raining, we do delivery. Staff is so nice and food is top notch. Get the salmon tikka (fresh, generous portion, healthy); the saag mushroom; eggplant bharta, and chicken curry hara maas. All Amazing!
Have only ordered takeout/delivery from here, but the food alone deserves the 5 stars. Great taste! It’s pricey, but I feel it’s well worth it. Wish the Naan came with all the plates given the prices, but you can always order it extra.
Really enjoyed their food - the eggplant dish was outta this world.
This place is the best!! If I could bathe in the chicken tikka masala sauce, I would 1000% do it. Also, we got it delivered—so fast btw—and the food was still super hot when it got here! 12/10 experience. Lastly, I never leave reviews of restaurants (I just never think to) but when you find a gem like this you gotta spread the word!
The food here seems tasty, but it was difficult to tell bc it was nearly frozen by the time we got it. We were given an hour window for its arrival and told it was on its way when we called after 75 minutes. When we inquired 2 hours after we ordered, we were told it had been delivered. The delivery guy left it on our stoop in the snow and neither called, rang the doorbell, nor knocked; I was sitting right next to the door. While I understand delivery guys can be late, it is cruel and incompetent to leave food out where it freezes or can get stolen. Their flavor profiles seemed promising, but the experience ordering from here was so traumatic that Im not sure I could do it again. Order with PLENTY of time to spare, but Im not sure what to advise in terms of discerning that its been delivered and sitting for an hour in the snow. Im starting to wonder if they were messing w us for ordering on Seamless (I saw later on their website that they use another online service). Maybe theyll be nicer if customers use that.
Great food and customer service ! Loved the chicken tikka masala, chili chicken and samosa chaat 👌🏽
I ordered for delivery and the food arrived on time and fresh.
I’ve never been here but somehow they got my phone number and illegally spam me with text messages.
The food was great. Good service
I ordered Rasmalai from Uber eats and it was spoilt, milk in it was curdled. I was really disappointed. Malai Kofta was really delicious. Vegetable Jalfrezi was not tasty. I think they should really take care about the quality of food they send to customers.
I sent my friends to this place with my highest recommendations. I go to this restaurant often. I get very good feedback from my friends. The dishes they serve are tasty and the team is attentive and cooperative. Every time we visit this place we pass a pleasing time. I recommend this place with pleasure.
Outstanding Indian food with a TON of vegetarian and vegan options
The place is first-rate and broad, the food was enchanting and the prices were very affordable. fast, productive service and very personal staff. Recommended.
It’s pretty good up I like it
I very much like the food and customer service, fantastic area next to my house. The cashiers are always friendly. Would recommend to others.
I simply liked their food. I always get excellent customer service there. The place is well organised and the employees are always super friendly. Keep up the good work.
Had a fantastic experience in this spot with my son. The food was served quickly and the service is just awesome. Prices are reasonable.
Wonderful spices, elegant balance, fresh ginger and peppers, not relying on sugary sweet dishes like many Indian restaurants. The chutneys are bright and taste like coriander and tamarind, not mint and ketchup. These are the kind of people who care about the food they make.
This spot is worth a visit. They serve big portions for fair rates. Always clean and with great mood. I highly recommend this place.
I just loved their dishes. I always get excellent service there. The place is always clean and the cashiers are always very friendly. Will come back again.
No frills Indian restaurant. Friendly staff. A bit grungy. Tasty buffet, very reasonable for Park Slope.
The food is regularly well prepared and delicious, staff members provides great customer service. I really like how clean it is and mood. Keep up the good work.
When you first walk in the Ambiance and the Aromas are very enticing. The waiter service is prompt and very knowledgeable and their recommendations were delicious based on the type of food we liked. Recommended very highly.
My first experience having Indian food. The food was out of this world! It actually make me want to move to India!!!!! We had chicken kebab, the chicken masala ( best sauce Ive ever had in my life!) And chicken curry with coconut sauce. Coconut rice a must-have! You should also try the tomato coconut soup! everything was so delicious that Im sad that we dont leave by here, were from South Florida. Must try!!!!!!!!
I really like their dishes. I always get fantastic service there. The place is neat and the employees are always welcoming. I highly recommend this place.
I have never had such great Indian food. The service was absolutely phenomenal. The staff treated you as if they knew you a lifetime. Its a nice cozy environment.. just perfect for an intimate date. You will NOT be disappointed!
Seriously good curries and breads at laughably reasonable prices. For some of the best Indian food in Brooklyn, look no further.
Delicious and affordable lunch buffet. Really nice people work here, great vibes. Will definitely be back regularly.
Awesome! awesome! awesome!I’ve been coming here for a while now and almost everyday since they started the all you can eat lunch buffet. I would give 10 stars if I could.
Good service, great food and great decor. They have good seating for slightly large groups and nice tables for dates. If come here again for sure.
This is first time here. We really enjoyed the food. Its delicious. Staff are friendly and professional. We are going back soon. My friends like to come here . No question about it.You must try. Believe it or not!
I regularly come buying some food in this place. I love the prompt service and well prepared food. Fantastic work.
Traditional Indian restaurant with a quaint outdoor space and excellent authentic cuisine. The friendly waiters offer great service. The lamb curry will melt in your mouth.
Unfortunately, I dont live in Brooklyn. Otherwise, I would come here all the time. I was here on business and ate here by myself a few times. The owner is extremely nice and the service is excellent. The food is very high quality and substantial. I will definitely be back whenever Im in Brooklyn.
These guys are soooo nice. I ordered delivery, and they had forgotten my tea... I called them a week later, because I had forgotten about it... they delivered it! And because Im absent minded, I realized that they hadnt actually charged me the first time I had ordered it. They new that too but delivered it anyway. What nice people. Oh, the food is always great there. I go all the time.
One of the few places where in dining and delivery are both 5-star. The back patio is gorgeous, amazing lunch buffet, and great quality all around.
The place is a bit small but its still very pleasant. Great staff and food. They also have a nice $12 all you can eat lunch buffet which is great value compared to regular menu prices. The tea is amazing lol
Went here this Sunday with my best friend. We are really into spicy food so we asked them to turn it up. DELICIOUS! Sometimes you get that spiciness that isnt quite fresh so it just burns but doesnt have the flavors, or you get a place that doesnt want to turn it up, but Namaste provided! The food was fresh and complex and wonderful, and the service was gracious. Go here if you love great spice, but if youre squeamish you should go anyway because they are very accommodating. Get the buffet or order from the menu you wont be disappointed!
The samosa masala was perfect, good and friendly service.
The best! We knew nothing about this restaurant and luckily tripped into it! Best naan ever and everything else that we ordered was fabulous, fresh and beautifully presented! Service was extraordinary! Will definitely be going back on our next trip to NYC!
I have came here multiple times and had nothing but satisfaction. The service is outstanding and the food is marvelous! Authentic Indian Food!
Great food, great service. Not overcrowded.
First visit and definitely not the last. The ambiance was very inviting along with the aromas. Our server was very informative and knew what to recommend after we spoke about our food likes. We had chick peas with onion and tomato sauce and Naan bread for starters. Our main dishes were Indian spiced Prawns on a bed of sauteed broccoli and potatoes. Claybowl of Lamb and Spiced rice with a side order of Indian bread stuffed with chopped Lamb meat. DELICIOUS.
The owners and staff offer great service. You feel like you are visiting friends instead of going to a restaurant. Every dish Ive gotten had been wonderful. I only wish I could learn not to over order. I love the fact that they always want to make sure I have enough wine with my meal. Someday I hope I can make it in for lunch on a weekday. Ive been doing to try the buffet.
If this place ever closes I will cry. Best Indian food in the neighborhood - I rely on this place. Excellent naan and perfect tikka masala. Go here!!
Good food always. Nice spread. Helpful service. Clean . Meters parking best not to drive.
The buffet is good for the price $13 with tax. The items are not great but not bad too. Overall the lunch buffet is good.
Had the lunch buffet here. Average selections and average to above average quality. Service was ok. It was hot outside when I was there and too hot inside in my opinion. Just average.
Decent Indian food, solid but nothing fancy. They do have this cauliflower tempura in a spicy ketchup sauce that is different. Service is attentive.
The buffet is really affordable compared to others 12$ without tax you can eat what you want. Although as good as it sounds, they dont really have that many options. Today I was feeling like Indian food and instead of going to a takeout I wanted to try out different things. I have tried some of the Indian dishes before, even though I dont remember exact names, taste was familiar and I could recognize some of them. The food was quite bland/overcooked it seemed that it was sitting there since the opening. When I came in there was a couple and usually thats an indicator that something might be wrong with the place. The server really tried to be as nice as possible, he kept coming to check if I need some water and brought some bread (which was only thing that I really liked since it was fresh). There was another guy, my guess he was a chief, he had some radio on his phone that was really loud and he was walking around, then he started to talk really loudly with someone at the back and it just felt like I dont even exist for him. I left feeling full but not satisfied with the food, it just filled me up, thats all.
Very friendly staff. Food is ok. Nothing that stood out. The goat curry was tasty but we ended up with more bones than meat. The cheese naan was bland. Overall, forgettable.
This place stands alone. Good price, good food and far enough away from home to keep me from coming back to often.
Me and my boyfriend ordered so much food and literally we ate every little last crumb. The food was amazing. We ordered a fish dish, a spicy chicken dish, the cheese naan, and the mint lemonade. For some reason the food on the table had an illusion of looking like smaller portions but we both came in super hungry and left super full. Try the cheese naan! I was skeptical at first but it isnt overly cheesy so you can eat it with any dish you get.
Had masala chai and gulab jamun. It was served warm. So delicious. Clean. Friendly service.
So the reason i am giving it 1 star is because i ordered a paratha which did not look or taste like a paratha from any angle i ordered chai and it didnt taste like chai it tasted like water with chai color. ☹ i was so disappointed
My new favorite Indian buffet in NY! Everything was flavorful and delicious. And very nice service.
Fantastic service and food, at a great price . Weve been there several times at this point and will definitely return. Our favorite Indian restaurant in Brooklyn!
