I had an appointment to see the practice nurse. There was a short queue on arrival as the receptionist was answering questions from an elderly man. She was extremely patient and kind. My appointment was on time and the nurse was both efficient and informative. It is a pity that the reception area is not more pleasant but otherwise my visit was totally fine.

Great Drs.. If you ever get to see one. Abnormally long waits for the phone to be answered, esp as they have next to no patients actually in the building atm.Trying to call now, just says no longer accepting calls atm. Cant even join a que or get in line. Its just a no from them 😡😠

Unfortunately unable to make no starsWaited an hour for them to answer the phone for then having a bitter receptionist on the other side that hung up on me while I was talking ... Duty of care is a disgrace, customer service is terrible... In 5 here in this practice, I never needed anything (thankfully) but now that I need to be seen it seems impossibleMoving on to a different surgery

Quite possibly one of the worst surgeries I’ve ever had the misfortune of needing to use.I called this morning (September 10, 2021) and was given a telephone appointment of anywhere between the time I called and 12:30pm. It got to about 2:15pm and nobody had called me, so I thought I would use a different phone to ring and find out what was happening.I’ve now been in the queue listening to the same terrible, ear piercing hold music for 1 hour and 20 minutes (photo shows 1 hour 17, I believe, it’s now been longer). I went from being number 10 in the queue to being next and for the last hour all I’ve heard is “please wait for the next available agent.”Oh - and I still haven’t had my phone call.Good job!!!Just avoid this surgery at all costs. It’s too much hassle and trouble.

This practice is an absolute joke. Their duty of care is non existent.I called to make an appointment as I was in pain with my joints. Got a call from the Dr I explained what was wrong and what I wanted.I was offered a face to face and told I couldnt see a rheumatologist for a 3rd time for the same diagnosis. I explained my symptoms were totally different. Still ignored. Made formal complaints and still no response two weeks later.

This has been my GP for a month. Ill change it as soon as possible. 2h for someone to answer the phone. VERY rude receptionists. They disconnect the call before you ask for everything! Worse GP ever

Awful service!Im registered with Holdenhurst Road Surgery. Impossible to get an appointment. Face to face service or video consultation non existent!Was trying to get seen or heard by a medical professional with something I had for a few months, so thought it requires attention now.Couldnt get appointment on a day, had to be told to try and get one next day after 8am. Took me 40 min next day to get through and book telephone appointment. Phone call followed by nurse practisioner, which couldnt help obviously and offered to book another telephone appointment in 2 weeks time, when clearly I need to be seen in person and examined!!!THEY MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE YOU ARE NUISANCE AND DO EVERYTHING FOR YOU NOT TO BOOK AN APPOINTMENT!The whole system in this surgery needs major shake up, its outdated, not efficient and customer unfriendly! Only one surgery I know closes midday for a staff training!!!!I will proceed to make a complain as during 12 years being with this surgery was always treated as nuisance! Something needs to be done! Extremely unhelpful!No other business or company would get away with that level of service!

Wait on hold for over an hour to book an appointment and then the call gets hung up on when you finally get through! So looks like I’ll be on hold for another hour now.Clearly need more staff as no matter what time of day you ring they never answer the phone in under 30 minutes

Register here if you enjoy snide, rude and unhelpful receptionists, doctors who wont listen or put words in your mouth, doctors who hang up after 3 rings so you have to book another appointment for 2 weeks time (by this I mean a phone call scheduled in a half day window so you have no choice but to sit by your phone and hope you pick up on time. Absolutely amazing system for the sick and disabled) , being dismissed, gaslighted and refused incredibly important tests based on proven symptoms or refuse referals based on their own bias. Oh and if you request medical records you can expect a £40 or for them to never be sent, despite the inability to go to the surgery due to the wheelchair theyve refused you :)Because of this Im even more ill, mentally unwell and practically housebound.I really hope that the people working here are proud of the service they provide. Its invaluable.... 🙄No wonder sick and disabled people have no option but to go private and pay hundreds or thousands just to be listened to and helped by their doctors.*EDIT* - if the surgery is reading this, your receptionist is renowned in Bournemouth for being incredibly rude and people have left wholly because of her. Just worth mentioning incase you actually want to do anything about it.

I have been at this surgery for two years. It has been nearly impossible to get through to them via phone. They only get the extra star because they actually respond to e-consults now that they have them.God forbid you require treatment though, they took over a week to have a practice meeting to decide they didnt have to provide me with treatment. I now have no choice but to pay privately for critical life-saving care. I had to wait over a week, to be refused treatment. Absolutely disgusting behaviour all around.Seriously, change doctors and stop reading these reviews.Just because youre still reading, I once did an emergency appointment for my mental health and got told that Im depressed because Im gay and that they wouldnt treat me. Im not gay.Go. Change your doctors.Edit: Should mention, that all the permanent medical staff have been nothing less than absolutely perfect. The bad experience with a GP was a temporary GP. All other doctors and nurses have been absolutely lovely. Including the other one that refused to treat me, seems she got blocked by admin, she was pretty upset about having to tell me that I couldnt get treatment.Another edit: because they refused to treat me, I had to pay over £200 for a private prescription. They refused to treat me because Im trans. Screw these people.

Poor show. No notices on the door to say they are shut for lunch. Coronavirus posters that were out of date months and months ago. Yesterdays training poster still up. Coupled with near on impossible to get them on the phone and one of the worst surgery websites Ive had the misfortune to use.Then, to make matters worse, it opened late, and the lady opening point blankly ignored the queue, didnt even smile or say hello to the first person.I was hoping theyd be at least marginally better than the Shelley Manor site but after today Im not holding out much hope.

Moved me off the patient list because I was out of area only found this out when I called up with an issue. Apparently this had been done in January (and a letter sent...there wasnt) Which is odd as I called to update some details in March and no one said anything 😂 Rude and unhelpful receptionist. Shelly Manor was voted in the last three years as the worst surgery in Dorset out of 85 they came 84th one year and 83rd another, the public vote is available in the Bournemouth daily echo, Rude receptionists who NEVER answer the phone who laugh in your face when you turn up looking for an appointment, I have changed practice and feel a lot more relaxed and it is obviously better for your health to be at ease, just change doctors before you get ill from the stress.

What an awful painful experience trying to get through and the awful music. dont use the pandemic as an excuse for answering phones as other surgeries and pharmacies and businesses do answerIts so poor and should be investigated why the phones arent answeredi tried the best part of 6 hours b4 we got someone to answerAnd I drove them to actually speak to someone and not one of them was on the phone so are they disconnecting the phone lines. Their sister surgery Hldenhurst is the same and it never used to be ike this.

Having to give this car crash of a surgery even 1 star is quite a painful move you know. The doctors are actually fine (I’d know, I’ve been passed around all of them like a joint at a party) but just know in the back of your mind when booking an appointment that you’ll never get the same one. EVER.The Receptionists (there’s a main one who literally breathes fire, maybe Jackie? Anyway she’s awful) are the problem here. Anyone would think you’ve called up to threaten their families instead of making an appointment. Everything is an issue to them, to the point where the doctors even suggest themselves to make complaints because they know just how hideous the front staff are. Compassion, understanding and empathy are alien words to them. Avoid this nightmare at all costs, you’d probably get better treatment at a Donald Trump rally than in the reception of this place.

After about 4 calls I got through in the end.after about 100 questions with a receptionist that thinks she a Dr got a appointment about 3 weeks later.Didnt see the dr I had the appointment with but some sort of specialist that didnt say wot waz wrong or what my choices are just showed me how to sit and stand properly..came out feeling worse than when I went in ..waste of time and a complete joke this place ..couldnt even do the wifes smear test properly either.

I have Chronic pain and the weather I am overweight and need to lose weight to have an operation to help keep being told I’m overweight and I need to exercise have explained several times that it hurts to exercise and I can barely move had an appointment today Embers toll they can Refer me to an exercise program that would give me money off at the gym not my hair prepared to help me manage the pain at all just keep reminding me that I need to exercise how can you exercise when you’re in chronic pain 24/

I had an emergency Appointment this morning and I was quickly processed and waiting for my doctor, I was seen on time and the Doctor I saw was great. she took the time to talk to me about my condition and even went the extra mile to advise me it has been a long time since my last blood pressure etc and proceeded to do this as well. was happy with the surgery today :) Previous times although the doctor was not as good he still did what was required and I still felt looked after.

I have been a Patient at the Holdenhurst Road Surgery in Bournemouth for a number of years. During that time I have had a number of treatments which have been dealt with resulting in great success andwhere nothing has been too much trouble. .Over this time I have been attended to by several different Doctors all of which has shown the most excellent care. In addition I have also recently had additional treatmentfrom Nurse Kirsty. This Lady really is a Gem in my opinion and a great asset to the Practice .. resulting in the best after care treatment ever.I am delighted to be a Patient here at Holdenhurst Road and would highly recommend this Practice to be in my opinion as a 5* without doubtROB WOTTON

I wouldnt recommend this surgery even if it was the last surgery I could get to in Bournemouth area! 1st impression is always the good impression but be their for a while and all goes down the shoot.The reception staff allow calls to ring for 10+ minutes at a time and you can be sat in the surgery and watch them have a natter about non work related Subjects while the phone rings away to be the Surgerys Music.or you be lucky if they talk to one another as Ive had troubles with where they dont pass on messages, they lose important paper work or should I say misplaced. every time I have been in they have struggled to use the computers and they arent exactly old ones now.GPs and Nurses have given me False information a few times and had made me pay for the Wrong type of stocking and didnt get my money back made my leg Pain worse due to the fact they dont look you over properly, and they want you in and out to get a lovely pay check in their back pockets. Mental health means nothing as they are happy for you to get highly depressed and do nothing but offer happy pills to patient.Im in my 20s and have spent a hole year living in my flat depressed and in great pain and irritation, difficulties walking, doing day to day activities and stuck in frustration of what was wrong with my leg and how to treat. I didnt want to be on pills all my life, and I got told to go to an Acupuncturist, and the pain and irritation has reduced a lot and has helped me walk and nearly back to work in 2 months instead of being stuck on pills for years on end or being told I dont know whats wrong with you we need more tests.The GPS would have you coming back like a boomerang long as their was profit coming their way.I takes a team effort to suck the way they do! and people have a right to know what they are like truly.

Extremely long over an hour waiting times, if this was a business, it would fail.No feedback forms either upstairs or downstairs waiting rooms. After asking for feedback forms they refused to provide pens to accompany them for future patients.Rushed Doctor and recipionsits, which caused them to come across as rude.Solutions, increase doctor to patient time from 10 mins to 15 mins and provide feedback forms with pens in both waiting rooms.

Good lord, where to start. Even 1 star is too generous for this car crash of a surgery. I deal with doctors surgeries every day as part of my job, I have to call to get medical paperwork from them, I have never been on hold for more than 5 minutes at any other surgery, holdenhurst though, 56 minutes yesterday, only to be told no face to face appointment until youve had a phone consultation. Absolute waste of mine and their time as was told to come in. Attended appointment to be told sorry cant offer you treatment because of covid, you will need to go private. Have changed surgery now and been told I can be treated so Id like to know what your playing at SMHS.

Awful. Every repeat prescription Ive had over the past 6 years has been incorrect or late. Im supposed to get my medication in 3 monthly periods but due to the time-keeping with this surgery, I have had to go through withdrawal symptoms EVERY time I run out of my medication. If I had my medication, maybe Id have the energy to find somewhere better.

I keep getting letters and texts telling me my smear test is overdue. Ive called everyday for 10 working days, at different times and searched for other phone numbers to call. Ive never been able to get though. 42 minutes is the longest Ive been on hold before hanging up. I went to the surgery but it was closed for lunch. I give up. Apparently I need to call them to stop receiving text messages 🤣🤣🤣

First of all I would like to edit and update my review about Holdenhurst Surgery as I have wrote a negative review about this surgery in the and the staff of this surgery in the past. What I found out after being in contact with the staff of this surgery I have got enough time to get to know how this surgery is working as this surgery is very busy almost all the time and they are under too much pressure thats why I got to understand them and understand whats going on in this surgery after barring in mind that they are doing what they can to provide medical services to a massive range of patients in the neighbourhood. As well as when they know that a patient is suffering from serious health problems such as mental health illnesses they try to treat that patient in a special way because of His/Her mental health illness as well as they provide excellent services to others. I would highly recommend this surgery just bare in mind that this surgery is considered as one of the most busiest surgeries in all Bournemouth. Waiting times to get through on phone not good. Was told at an appointment i was getting refered for a private scan or if that was not possible i would hear from the doctor. OPhoned six days later no referal done or any notes on the system about what is happening. Now having to pay 88 pounds for a private gp appointnent as i am struggling.

Used to be a really good surgery but that was a long time ago the amount of mistakes that are made at this surgery is going to cost someone there live one day if not already. Just to give a idea I had I blood test for diabetes a year ago I phoned at the time to find out what the results were and was told that I will get a call if anything showed up one year yes thats right one year later I was going through my notes with the nurse it turned out that the test came back that I was diabetic. It turned out that the doctor neglected to inform the receptionist to get incontact with me. I am in constant pain all the time now I cant use my hands properly any more and because of the pain in my feet I just dont sleep. Maybe if I had the medication and how to manage my sugar levels a year ago i wouldnt be in this pain now. This is just one mistake they have made the amount of times they have messed up my medication you would not believe two of my tablets are for my heart one to stop blood clots forming in my heart and the other is beta blockers if it wasnt for the pharmacist giving me a loan of tablets until I got the surgery to sort their problems out well anything could have happened. I could go on with more mistakes they have made but I would be writing all day some one seriously needs to sort this surgery out.
