If you get a good drone they work great overall. However, if you get a bad drone (I bought a few so...) getting customer service is not good. Its a long wait to get action. Customer service is friendly on the phone but the followup is a long process.Other smaller companies have a replacement or a part in my hand in less than a week. Frustrating overall.
Great products but Autel are about to change their chips which will make current (v1) EVO drones, Live Deck and Smart Controller incompatible with the incoming v2 models. Before buying (in mid-2021 onwards), ask vendor to confirm in writing what your upgrade options are going forward.
Poor poor customer service. Had my drone in for a repair, got it back, flew it several times and it drops out of the sky for no reason. I send it in and they determine I crashed into an object, even tho it showed on flight logs that there was no building, trees or objects to crash into, so they won’t cover it by warranty. It’s been sitting at their facility for 3 months now, very slow to return emails. Won’t return calls. Paid for the most expensive drone on the market and I can’t even fly it. Don’t waste your time with this company. I thought a USA based company would have better customer service but apparently not.
Clearly have an issue producing quality drones. Some drones are good some drones are bad. Gave me a hard time about warranty work for my drone when it clearly drifted on it’s on. I’m 50/50 on this as the drone itself is nice (if it actually works correctly).I’m in a group where more folks are speaking up about this $2,000 trash can.Buy yourself a DJI.
I love my Evo! Sent it in for repairs, pilot error, and customer services has been great! Only problem, FedEx sucks at delivering packages! I received a message that my drone had been delivered but the package was nowhere to be found! I hope customer service department is as good as everyone says. 🤞
Very unethical company to work with. We did a delivery for them back in July which we were never paid for despite repeated attempts. Unfortunately we have heard that this is typical for this company.
I have been selling Autel drones since 2016 and was informed today that they are no longer dealing with me, and no reason for that. I had a pre-order that I placed in February that was cancelled for no reason other than per KG.They still owe me rebates for machines sold in December 2019. I have lost all faith in Autel, just another business that doesnt want to deal with the small guys.
This was my first drone (Not counting the AR Drones 5 years ago), and I am absolutely HAPPY with my Autel. The drone is first class, and even better the Customer Service is the best in the industry ! THE BEST ! PERIOD. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE FOR THEIR FIRST DRONE, as you will have enough technology without being overwhelmed. Buy the Autel, and you will never regret it. The folks at Carolina Drones are the BEST ! Just remember, all drones are basically thew same, it is CUSTOMER SERVICE that makes the difference. Auto IS #1 in Customer Service.
I am EXTREMELY SATISFIED with the X Star Premium and even more so with the Customer Service! In my opinion, you couldnt do better! Great drone, great value, helpful customer service!
I Have to say I am very happy with my Autel Evo. I fly it every chance I get. However I just have one issue. The back sensors keep telling me I have a obstacle about 18 to 20 feet away no matter how high in altitude I go. I am wondering if there is a issue with the sensor itself since I had it turned on and I can only see the left sensor working. But other than that. The evo gets a 5 star regardless. It would be nice to know though why the sensor is bugging out like that.
More then happy with my EVO.
The AUtel EVO is the drone to start with, and the drone you’ll choose to finish with. This highly durable drone has survived all the mistreatment I could give it of the steep drone learning curve. In addition, I have truly learned to appreciate how this drone doesn’t babysit you like the Mavic products. It allows you to fly when you want to fly, rather than when a company in China has determined you are unable to fly it. This amazing product was made in America, and is worthy of the “made in” label. Having experience with multiple companies products, you will not be disappointed. If you are into drone freedom and liberty, this is your product.
The Autel Robotics X-Star Premium is a great drone with many advanced features. The stock camera takes great 4K footage with better color reproduction than similar units from DJI. Autel includes a heavy duty case to protect the drone while in storage or transit. The remote controller has a built-in LCD display that displays useful information about the drones distance, speed, battery life, signal strength, and camera pitch. Range is great, easily going over the two km range it is rated for. Autel recently released a firmware upgrade, further enhancing the stability and flight characteristics of the quadcopter. Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase of the X-Star and look forward to the next drone Autel Robotics releases.Edit: I had an issue with my remote controller. Even though I bought the drone used, Autel still considered it under warranty and repaired it for me, even paying for the shipping. Customer service is excellent.
Drone maybe excellent but getting ahold of anyone but support seems to be impossible. Id have to drive to bothel to talk to anyone else.
Love my X-Star Premium. Love their customer support. They actually follow up with you for several days after the initial call just to make sure things are going smoothly. Latest firmware is a bit glitchy, but they are working on a fix for it. Awesome camera and awesome gimbal lead to some beautiful shots. Overall, stoked that this is the drone I picked up. It also helps that i scored the drone on Amazon Prime day for $675. With 3 extra batteries, I still havent spent $1000. Best bang for your buck in the drone marketplace and cant recommend highly enough.
The build quality is excellent, the materials used are top line like the foam liner for the case is ETP foam and it flies great. I am very happy with this purchase
Another patent troll without any real market share.
I love this unit. Flys smoothly, amazing camera, amazing customer service if you ever need it.
The X-Star Premium has been performing great and the images from the camera look amazing.
I purchased my Autel X-Star Premium as the second owner, as I wanted to try one out. I have a couple of DJI Phantoms and wanted to compare them tho this one. My conclusion is: Autel seems to be a superior platform. Overall stability, forward speed, hover accuracy, camera gimbal stability, FPV distance & resistance to radio interference would appear to be better than my Phantoms. I have also found the Starlink App to be a little more user friendly than DJIs. For a company that has only been producing drones or about 3 yrs or so, they are doing a darn good job and I am totally impressed.
My X-Star Premium is incredible but what sets Autel drones apart is their awesome customer support. When you spend nearly $1,000 on a piece of technology there is always the fear of something happening to it. Autels amazing customer support takes so much of that fear away as they are quick to respond and help you out when an issue arises. Jacob, one of Autels Customer Support Representatives, has consistently responded promptly to my concerns and sent out a replacement part the same day I needed it. Not only that but he has been friendly through the whole process. That says a lot about a company as far as Im concerned. Its refreshing in this day and age to be able to have your problem addressed not only promptly but also by someone who is actively trying their best to make sure youre happy with their product. If youre considering buying an Autel X-Star Premium Drone know that Autel stands behind their product and will do their best to take care of you if something goes wrong. This has been my experience anyhow and from what Ive seen, many others as well.As far as the X-Star Premium is concerned, it is a awesome drone. I own similar drones from DJI and 3DR and hands down I reach for the X-Star first. It does what its suppose to every time I turn it on. I wish I could say the same about all of my drones.Autel has just introduced their next quadcopter. Its called the Evo and it is a compact drone packed with new features and an upgraded 4k camera. If it is anywhere near as awesome as the X-Star Premium, its going to be a hit. I know what Im saving for!
I bought the X-star Premium from and ebay seller a little over a week in a half ago and received the unit on July 2016. The package and construction is great on the drone. The orange makes it much easier to keep line of sight in bright conditions and I love the physical button layout on the controller. However. In flight is where I am running into problems. The 360 rotation controls on my unit are sluggish and jerky, and the video signal on my devices is terrible (samsung note 5, ipad mini 2), I get video glitching and drop out with in 400 feet distance and 100- 200 feet of altitude every time I fly no matter where I am. I have called and emailed customer support and I did get responses relatively fast. They want me to return the unit so they can either repair it or send a new one under the warranty. So unlike other reviews they are not sending me a new one before I have to send mine back which is what I was hoping. Right now Im a mixed bag on the drone. I really want to love Autel but this first experience is not leaving me with a good feeling. Trying to decide if I should just return and try a different drone or get the warranty service done. Ill update with whatever happens.Update- Now Autel tells me they will not provide me with a new unit in any circumstance because I bought the unit through ebay. Brand new factory sealed. What is the difference between that and any other online retailer. Also the seller while very nice will not take it back as its been opened although he was trying to get me a unit faster with out help from Autel. So far very disappointment with both the drone and the customer service. Probably be putting it up for sale when I get it back. Sorry Autel Ill make sure you dont get any customers from the Cox Media Group Family in the future.
I bought an X-Star Premium...totally unsatisfied...DEAD CAMERA OUT OF THE BOX...it arrived with a dead Camera, and 2 weeks later..Still NO action response from their customer service!!! Even though the first contact with them back 2 weeks ago they assured me I would be receiving a tracking number for the replacement drone shipping that following Monday, now a week ago. They tell me their policy is they have 21 days on warranty replacements to act on deciding to replace or not.And since then getting customer service to answer my calls with some reassurance or commitment to customer service, after multiple messages, emails, and calling the customer service number, it is nearly impossible. They promised to ship me a new replacement on the claim ticket after receiving my proof of purchase for the new Drone from one of their listed distributors..and I still havent received anything...not even a reply to my emails... Can not even rate the Drone as it has not made a single flight yet!!! So if customer service weighs into your buying decisions, I would seriously take it into consideration. Would like to give Autel Robotics a 5 star, just dont know, I AM NOT A HAPPY AUTEL CUSTOMER, SEVERELY DISAPPOINTED...
I bought an x star premium...totally unsatisfied...it arrived with a dead battery, and 2 weeks later..Still NO BATTERY!!! And getting customer service to answer my calls, messages, or the multiple emails I sent, is nearly impossible. They promised to ship me a battery a week and a half after I made a claim..and I still havent received anything...not even a reply to my emails...I AM NOT A HAPPY AUTEL CUSTOMER...
I have to say I owned a phantom Yuneec and chroma and this autel is the best flying quad I have flown and for the price you cant go wrong
Great great great
I state that I am a former Parachuting Instructor who was disabled so I do not do strong things and following my problem I purchased Evo II Pro 6K Rugged Bundle at 2,029.00 euros in July 2020. I was satisfied but already from the beginning this drone gave problems when one day I did an activ track the drone hit a wooden light pole 4 - 5 meters from the ground but nothing was done apart from the breaking of a rubber of the gimbal. Although it was under warranty, the shipment (at my expense 76.00 euros) in the U.S.A. in September and after a flood of emails between me and a certain Brady Reisch (nothing against him) they tell me that I have to pay $ 2 for rubber, $ 30 for labor and $ 98 for shipping to Italy for a total of 130 $. I say to myself: a company like Autel Robotics that makes itself look behind for such a cost.? And also on the Autel Evo Italia page many others have encountered problems with sensors, computer calibrations, firmware to be updated, downloads ... and this is very annoying for those who spend a certain amount. Im sorry but customers have to keep close and treat them well which DJI can do. Yesterday I received the long-awaited email that the drone is returning to Italy. I will try it but surely it is likely that I will sell it and if I have other problems, I dont want to send it to the U.S.A. too expensive. Im sorry for the way they treated me but it shows that this is their policy.
Evaluation with 2 stars, because although I like my X-Star Premiun I do not have any assistance from the company Autel Robotics. I live in Spain and already tried to buy the battery, but without success, because Autel does not send the battery to me. So I cant fly my X-Star Premiun anymore.
Fantastic drone its my 2nd, and the X-STAR flies like a dream, really happy of this purchase, happy new year 2017
