Has always been top class. Have used scan for the last 15 years and would never go anywhere else. Recent years theyve had to keep stock in other warehouses so at times the order is slightly slower. I had an issue adding a PS5 bundle to my basket so used live chat to assist, they confirmed they had 3 bundles in stock, great! I stated i would like to order one, no reply for over 5 minutes, a new agent joins chat only to tell me they have now sold out while i was waiting for someone to get back to me............. they offered no solution just simply an empty apology and disconnected chat...............

Id rate this place zero if I could.My partner bought a computer from this place and has had nothing but trouble, firstly they decided to put a different hard drive into my build not only that they put a different graphics card in also. When he contacted them they said it wouldnt be a problem to sort so they posted the new hard drive out but when he went to get the graphics card he was told they were out of stock not only that but the guy he spoke to was very snotty with him and very unhelpful. Safe to say he will never go back to this place ever again.So if you dont know youre stuff be careful they may fob you off!!!
I spent £1150 on a gaming computer for my sons birthday (to me, this is a lot of money) and online it showed a next day delivery so assumed it would come the following day but not the case, reading further after placing the order the site said 5+ working days so my fault for not reading everything but misleading to show next day delivery. The PC took 11 days to arrive not 5 and was damaged so had to be returned (now 3 days after my sons birthday). After 6 days I had to call and ask when the new one would arrive which has come today 10 days after collected for return and 28 days after payment. I understand the damage was from the transport company but your communication has been terrible to non existent. I will never buy from you again!!!!!
Computer arrived and was totally useless. Not slightly useless, but 100% useless. It should never have made it out of the factory which leads me to wonder where they get these computers from.When I asked to send it back, they offered to repair it, even though it was less that a week old. I said I wanted a refund.They generated an RMA, an order for return and sent me out a form to fill in to have the item picked up by their courier.I filled in the form and heard nothing back.I sent the computer back to them by Royal Mail, enclosing the receipt.They now refuse to refund me the postage, even though the item was totally defective and return postage is their responsibility.Eventually, after leaving a few reviews online about my experience, someone did contact me, and things were sorted out.I got my money back in full.
Bought a motherboard and memory, CPU, etc. Motherboard failed after 6 months. Returned it to scan who found a scratch on the motherboard which clearly isnt the cause of the failure and refused to honour the warranty. Ordered a replacement from someone else who is not dishonest. Feel cheated.Edit: Scan also seems fine with personally attacking their customers. Way to go Scan.

Lots of great technology but no customer service if you call in person.I made the trip to visit the store on the 23rd September to get some advice on a new high end PC for gaming and video rendering. After wandering about the showroom and waiting for someone to help for over 15 mins the chap from the collection desk noticed me and asked if I needed help. Then the customer service was then done with me standing at the till while the chap behind the counter made the minimum effort to try and answer my questions by looking things up on the SCAN website.Very disappointed with the experience after reading such great reviews. I suggest some customer service training for the majority of the staff so that they get off their seats and stop playing with the PC tills while chatting to each other and talk to the customers who have made the effort to visit them.Im sure if you know exactly what you want then it is fine. But if you want to talk to someone knowledgable to check the expensive PC you are looking to buy will have the ports and pieces you need - you are out of luck from my experience.I gave them 1 star for the amount of cool toys in the showroom and one star for the Asian chap from the customer pick-up desk who tried to help even though it wasnt his section.

The site is a bit strange to get used to, not incredibly user friendly, but I can work with it. It said order by 18:15 for next day delivery, I ordered at 18:07. 44 minutes later, my ordered was dispatched and arrived the next morning by 10am. Absolutely phenomenal service. Decided to try because *the other place* has been putting up their prices lately and took 12 days to get my next-day order to me back in November/December. Very happy that I did.
I came to the physical shop rather than going online so that I could see the monitors I was interested in. The shop is a decent size and had a lot of different monitors to see, as well as some wild cases and also a lot of music equipment, as well as gaming chairs and keyboards and mice, as well as components in glass cases. It wasnt very busy, probably due to COVID, and we were free to wander round and see everything. I was able to see what I wanted, so it was worth the trip.
I wish I’d read the recent reviews before ordering from Scan - they used to be good but I have had a terrible experience with the order of my 3XS audio workstation and it seems I am not alone.I selected 128gb RAM in the configurator, my basket contents showed 128gb RAM, I ordered and paid for the system at the price quoted for the spec I had chosen. When my system arrived it only had 64gb RAM installed… The invoice I received at the time of purchase was un-itemised so I had no idea they planned to build the system with only half of the RAM until it actually arrived. Obviously I immediately contested this to be told that it was a “website error” and that if I wanted the additional 64gb RAM I would need to just buy it on top of the price I had already paid (an additional £269.99).I expressed my dissatisfaction at this and they said they would see what they could do and get back to me. I specifically requested all correspondence was in writing (email) and have the chat transcripts to prove, yet they phoned me to offer me a £100 “goodwill gesture” refund. I refused this and the issue was escalated to the “3XS Systems Support manager” who phoned me back the following day. He advised they were not willing to cover the cost of the missing memory but would increase the goodwill reimbursement to £160, which I accepted to compensate for the inconvenience and stress, but not as a settlement for the missing memory. I now have a case raised with the Citizens Advice Bureau / Trading Standards to further explore what options I have with regard to the missing memory.In addition to the above, whoever assembled my build tightened the screws on the pci-e cards too tight and stripped the threads so my thunderbolt card will now be forever loose in the case. Also there is chipped paint on the side panel of the case which I assume is due to carelessness during the build. I emailed them on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday last week (w/c 11/10) and have yet to receive a response to any of my emails, despite them saying in their last email “if you need anything further please do not hesitate to contact us.”Needless to say this will be the last time I order a PC from Scan, which is a shame as I have ordered lots of pro audio gear from them in the past and never had any issues.At the time of writing this I am still awaiting a response to my emails and will update here if I do get a response.
Scan are great if they are nearly in your door step, especially now the COVID measure have been lifted, apart from the limit on the number of people in the shop at once which makes complete sense. Mask were provided at the entrance for those who have forgotten and pickup of a collect item was straight forward.
Email confirmation did not state that my order would not be sent on split delivery which was the reason given for delayed delivery by their poor & sarcastic customer service on chat. Then the delivery WAS split as had 2 blank emails informing me of the time of delivery (different times on text message). Then courier attempted delivery to the wrong house and delayed me receiving my order yet again (or part of!).All this for £20 next day delivery meant my order will have taken 6 days to get to me - delivery charge is a rip off! UPDATE: So 5 days after ordering I now have the item that delayed the order but NOT all the items that were in stock when I ordered - go figure. O/No. E4653312
This is a long story with a happy ending and a very helpful member of staff. As we all know there is an international shortage of gpus. I was lucky to fit into a pre-order slot for a gigabyte 1660 super. I waited for a few months and there was little sign of a delivery date. This went on for a while the communications between me and scan was always amicable. I found a 1660 on the site that i thought i might have been able to exchange it for and the person on the phone said no. At this point I thought i had enough and met OLIVIA. Olivia, was not only the best customer service staff at scan. Id say the best i have ever dealt with. She went beyond out of her way to resolve the issue and within two days I had a card and was happy again. I cant say the road was all joys, but at the end scan regained my trust and pulled through only thanks to the hard work of Olivia. I will continue to use scan and hope for many more years of happy business.Thank you olivia, you are a credit to scan and I hope you are awarded for your duties.
Ordered an item in July that was pre-order for August, item did not turn up, support was not very helpful just constantly telling me to wait for an email, I didnt get a shipment delayed email until 20 days after the due date, item was then updated for September, September rolled by and no item, delayed to October. Support were just as helpful as the first time, even though they had had my money for 2 months they would not offer me an upgrade at a better rate or anything just kept telling me to wait for an email. Eventually paid more for a different item, will think twice before using scan again after this experience. The global pandemic causing a silicon shortage is not their fault, taking my money and offering bad service is on them though unfortunately
Great company with a fantastic website and a very good retail store in Bolton. Has everything you could possibly need. Staff very helpful. Only improvement would be to get card machines in the retail store to speed up payment. Will definitely purchase from you again.

Went in today to pick up some peripherals I had ordered online. Been toying up spending between 1k to 1.5k on a new system and decided to ask one of the sales guys for help. They couldnt of been less interested. I asked if they had any prebuilts. No. Fair enough.. but I told them what components I already had and what I needed and was told to just look online at their website. As a Sales Manager myself, I would be embarrassed at the level of help and service that was offered.
This company is a complete joke and they sell faulty laptops. I bought a laptop for £1600 and it doesnt work after the 3rd time of using it, it turns of and doesnt turn on. Completely hardware problem. I called the customers support the guy is a complete nutcase he was shouting at me like am his ex wife or something. And told me that they can only fix it not return it and that would take more than a month, even after i explained that i need the laptop this month cause of a course that i signed up to and will start tomorrow. He never offered any help shouted at me and put the phone down.

Wanted to buy a roland kt-10 before the bank holiday weekend. Only place I could find that guaranteed next day delivery was Scan. Price paid was the price advertised. Honestly the name Scan made me feel weird about their legitness as its quite close to Scam. Ordered around 20:00 on Thursday paid through Amazon. Package arrived before 11 AM on Friday. Thats great service in my book. Will be using them in the future for sure
I have been using Scan for around 10 years now and have just purchased one of their 3XS systems, this is actually the 2nd 3XS system Ive had from them. The first one never skipped a beat in over 5 years of ownership, still ran every game I played no problem, obviously not max max settings but everything on high/medium. I simply cannot fault it. They are fairly pricey compared to building yourself or waiting for daily deals but tbh, I couldnt be bothered. I pay extra for the service and knowing that its been put together by an expert rather than the amateur I am. I even received a free branded mouse mat aswell as a 3XS branded mug which is a nice touch. I am more than happy with my new system.Customer service is always top notch too. If youve been thinking of a 3XS system of your own, just do it. You wont regret it.
Bought a laptop and sadly had to return due to a faulty screen. All staff throughout the process were efficient and knowledgeable and made the experience easy. Would definitely use scan again for future hardware purchases.

I have recently bought a PC with SCAN and it was a very good deal. When it arrived it was solid and protected in the packaging. Once plugged in and turned on it had a solid amber light on the motherboard.*EDIT*I have recently returned my PC and received a replacement. I am giving SCAN 3 stars as the second time around the customer service was a lot better than the first time but due to the time I had to wait for a replacement and the fact they sent a faulty PC to me.
In a year where getting hold of the NVIDIA 30x0 series was near impossible, Ive finally secured a 3080 ti via Scan.co.uk.While Scan and many retailers are trying their best to limit cards for gamers (and not scalpers), its common that many retailers are adding on a premium for available cards (40% added on top!).Scan should be applauded for honouring the MSRP and in turn theyve gained a new long term customer.The order process, packing and delivery were all turned around within 24 hours. Very satisfied customer.

Exceptionally poor experience with Scan this weekend, largely down the their courier failing to deliver my machine twice. Still not recevied it and requested my order cancelled and to be refunded. Told will be 5 days from when they receive machine back!!! I have not even received it yet, they have my money and the ability to refund but would rather get a few days interest instead. They can see I have not received this machine the courier is there problem not mine. Not recommended.
Wow... WOW, WOW, WOW! Ive always felt like there hasnt been a lot of options for pre-built PCs. You can choose an overpriced main-brand PC or risk a dodgey website... Scan PC made everything so easy. There customer service went above and beyond, something thats rare from any company these days. As for the PC, I went for 3XS Studio built for Video Editing and some Gaming. The build is absolutely flawless. Installing additional RAM was easy with the removable side-panel (glass), and the cooling system is fantastic. I dont often leave reviews. Thank you Scan for being so awesome.
Terrible customer service policy. Theyre trying to tell me they cant replace my item as I opened the box 48 hours after receiving it to find it damaged. This is incorrect under consumer rights laws. Not sure what kind of scam theyre trying to run here.
Lately purchased a small item, good service, but have experience via a former superior, a businessman, engineer & generalist with very serious IT skills. He trusted these guys for good hardware. This guy is a bit of a legend & has done serious work for some of the biggest names in racing, F1 etc, that being so, you should trust them too.
(Edit)My original review gave 1 star and complained about a dead pixel policy, and the fact I had to pay shipping to return my item, and also pay an increased price for the same item...However after that review, i was contacted and they sorted it all out for me very quickly, They explained that the policy was issued by the manufacturer and they could not change that. However they offered for collection of my monitor as well as allowing me to purchase a new one at original price.Very easy, very helpful, and polite.
Always useful to be able to order and collect items on the same day. Staff are normally query friendly and I have never had any problems with any of the items I have ordered from them.
Worst company Ive ever had to deal with in my life, scam computers has a nice ring to it. I had artifacting with my 1080ti which was purchased 2 years ago and was eligible for a 48 hour replacement as it turned out to be defective memory and 1 year left on the warranty, I then returned the item and by the time it reached their testing centre with photos before and after the arrival and time stamps, somehow, magically, a screw and part of the GPU shroud disappeared. I contacted the manager and she shouted at me saying I removed the screw and broke part of my GPU myself and there was no way it could of been their returns department. Without any broken parts inside the box as I said it might of broke of during transit so it all disappeared with not a trace, so it was not the courier. The GPU magically formed rust in the centre grill in the before and after photos and its clearly been tampered with or even switched and now apparently I voided my own warranty by doing this for returning it for a memory fault. It gets worse because they refused to give me my 1080ti back, only until I declared I got in contact with my bank they where only willing to send me my own graphics card back?Ive filled a claim with my bank and have the serial number of the old 1080ti so if I receive this back and the serial number is different then its clearly been stolen which then I can claim theft from my bank.One thing is for sure Ive never experienced this before from any company in my life and will be the first and last time I ever buy anything from this joke of a company. Graphics cards are only available if you buy a CPU / Bundle. If there is stock users shouldnt be forced to buy a new system for the sake of a component upgrade.EDIT: There are lots of cards for sale on box.co.uk, few on overclockers. You are the only retailer enforcing this policy, its only fair that future potential customers understand how you treat them during difficult times and that other suppiers do not use the same cons and tricks that Scan have.
Caught red handed with an interesting pricing scam - I placed an order for 3 parts on behalf of my 11yr son who wanted to do a custom PC build with me, we waited a couple of days without the dispatch email confirmation arriving for the Samsung SSD, Corsair mid tower case and Corsair power supply, so I called up to query, Scan claimed the delay was from Amazon Pay for not releasing the payment, when I checked, this was not the case and in fact Scan as merchant had not made the final payment request, the payment was in fact fully approved - basically they did not want to honour their original online pricing to my son and claimed the tower pricing was incorrectly applying a discount! I gave them the opportunity for me to pay using an alternative credit card payment method, as I write this, I am still waiting for a call back to confirm, this comes after 4 phone calls already this morning to try and resolve with incompetent staff. I suggest an appropriate rename to “Scam Computers International” - I recommend Overclockers or Box both of whom confirmed and delivered their online orders right on time without sneakily increasing their prices.

Happened to me twice, I pay for an item that I want with a good deal that is pre order. In few days they email me saying that they have a stock problem with either its delayed for no set date or discontinued.They refunded me and gave me premium postage for next order, but it is no use as I didnt get the item I wanted.Dont order from them unless it is in stock.

Absolute best service Ive received from any company in the last ten years. I had an issue with a motherboard I had bought and scans RMA process was slick, and I had a new motherboard within a few days of reporting the issue. The RMA tracker is really useful. Ive bought quite a few things from scan so far and the service has been top notch so far. Honestly, even if the prices were higher than other places (which theyre not) Id still shop here because the service is so great. Cemented me as a repeat customer for the future.
Spoke to Dan this morning on technical support and he was AMAZING.He was patient, listened carefully to my issues, offered options and further support if I needed it.His suggestions worked a treat and I am considerably less stressed thanks to Dan.Getting through can be a wait so please take this in to account when calling.Throughly recommend Scan and their free aftercare support.

These guys are consistently the best at customer service, price, and convenience.The website is great but this is about the ol brick and mortar. They have areas for viewing that show off the inside of a fair few demo PCs, monitors, and peripherals. They have multiple areas that are currently blocked off, those being the instrument area at the back and a small bit at the side where they have the chairs on display, these being closed off due to COVID and people not being able to keep their grubby hands off of cool tech, which is fair. The staff are helpful and easy to talk to and all know their stuff. Have bought most of my PC components and multiple laptops from these guys, can confirm its high quality H2O.
Customer service was excellent for me, fast and efficient. When a new 3060Ti graphics card started glitching they sent a courier to collect and were very fast in both testing and replacing the card, minimising my down time.The customer service people I spoke to on the phone were very polite and understanding particularly given the current state of supply/demand issues at the moment. Ordered a laptop and was told it would be delivered within 2 to 3 days.After a week I still hadnt received the item and chased it up. At this point I was told there was an issue with the chassis and that the supplier would be chased and I would be given and update.After 2 weeks I rang and spoke to someone who informed me that the product had now been discontinued but there were alternatives. I asked if I could review the alternatives before committing to a replacement.I rang back an hour later to be told that the replacement I had been offered wasnt in stock but they would make enquiries as to when it will be in stock and get back to me by the end of the day. I rang later on that day before closing time to be told the person I spoke to had gone home for the day and that I should ring back the next day.I rang the next morning and was advised that there was no update to give so I asked for a refund. I was told only managers could do refunds and I would be contacted when one became available. I received no contact that day and when trying to get through to someone on the number today the line cut off.2 weeks and 5 days since my order was placed for what was a discontinued laptop still being advertised on their site. I have not received a product and I have not been refunded. It is more frustrating that I am having to make all the contact myself.This is not good customer service and it hasnt been a pleasant experience. I would not think about using scan again after this incident and will be looking elsewhere.
Scan is terrible for sticking gpu.s..... Every where els has them but never ever scan... And all so not even a rough month or week when stock would be likely..... Very bad for customers...... Overclockers or novatech are the ones to go.... Very disappointed scan
SCAN Computers are brilliant - bought all parts to build and upgrade my PC from them on a friends recommendation. Service is amazing and delivery is super quick. (Ordered a new CPU Cooler at 2130 and its on next day delivery...) Spoke to a few of the staff over the phone with questions - super helpful and polite. Keep up the awesome work SCAN Computers.
They had such a good rep, may be Ive been very unlucky but...I brought a RTX refurbed laptop from them for £1700. Its repeatedly crashed after a days use, called the help desk, they took ages to find the order and machine, then I was told the error was new to them. And that I should reset and reinstall windows (I’ve had no idea how to install windows without a CD, shame on me. I was told to YouTube it).Started the process of resetting the machine but it wouldn’t do that due to the initial error.Returned the machine within 10days of purchase.I’m now told there is no fault and because I don’t have the original packaging I may not get a refund.Obviously still challenging this but it’s been weeks!
Scan has it all and then some. If you have the luxury of living near to the store i highly recommend taking a trip down to spark your imagination on a new computer build and to see some of the amazing components they have out on display.Scan is the one stop shop for any budding computer builder and veterans alike.
Really poor service for a faulty PC.A brand new gaming PC was delivered to me, but it blue screened every time I played a game. I sent the PC back to scan for repair, who quoted a 1 week turnaround time. It took 3 weeks to come back - and they sent back the same broken PC inside a larger case with bigger fans! It continued to blue screen (same problem) so I had to send it back again, this time being quoted a 1-2 week turnaround time. 3.5 weeks later it came back with a new CPU and memory and now it finally works.I finally got a product Im happy with, but poor customer service and a lazy attempt at a repair in the middle was frustrating.

Ordered a package with them, a motherboard, CPU, and Ram, assembled and overclocked / tested by them. The CPU has always run hot since i got it, however 4 years later when i took the heat sink off i find that the thermal compound is not evenly distributed. It seems that someone may have been rushing / skimping on the thermal compound. If you have poor temps i suggest checking the compound and replacing with thermal grizzly kryonaut. (I7 7700K with dark rock pro 3)
So frustrated with your RTX ordering system. Yes, I know theyre high in demand but having tried multiple times over the last 6 months, having it in my basket for it to then go out of stock during the checkout process.Stock should be allocated to the cart to give people enough time to complete the checkout process and should timeout after a set period (5/10 mins).Absolute shambles which has unfortunately has soured my opinion of SCAN and Ive also complained to Nvidia. I now will shop elsewhere and recommend my friends and family to do also.
I bought a custom pro audio PC from scan and its amazing. Pictures of the build were provided throughout the process and the machine and accessories are spot on.
Bought a case from them, the case presented as good for large storage with like 18x HDD, but you need to buy brackets separately, which are out of stock in the entire world, which made it impossible for me to finish the urgent PC build, left a 1 star review for this and they refused to publish the review as it did not meet all our website guidelines meanwhile the product has only two 5 star reviews, we all know whats going on there. Because of that I have no other choice but to pull a Karen on them and rate 1 star where they cant control it.

Local (to me) and the prices are generally good but the customer service, especially in reference to collections, is monstrously inefficient. When its busy theres just a crowd of people waiting around without a clue where they are in the queue or what the status of their order is. Also not open on Sundays which is a further inconvenience.EDIT: Went to collect an order, told it wasnt ready and to come back in half an hour. Went back 45 minutes later and waited a further hour and a quarter before being told my item wasnt actually in the building. Advised to return just before closing to see if my order was there. It wasnt. Asked when it would be available was told they couldnt give me any guarantees.I stopped using Scan a few years ago and now I remember why - its customer service is a total shambles. Avoid.
Returned item for refund as its not fit for purpose. Was faulty but still operating. After it reached them one of the pins of the board has miraculously bent itself!! Hmm. If you are that desperate that you need to bend pins to avoid refunds then you are welcome to my money. Keep it. Its not Scan.......you pronounce it with an M.....like Scam!
The guy behind the returns counter was incredibly helpful with the problem I had with my pc and managed to fix the issue.

Ive never gave a bad review on google before. But unfortunately the service I received from scan deserves one. Many of the women I spoken to at customer services gave me incorrect information and then became very rude and unprofessional. They took no responsibility for this. Their delivery service is very good but without a decent customer service I dont feel safe to buy again from there in case there is ever a problem. As I have zero confidence in scan to make any effort to resolve it.
Ive used scan in the past and always rated them... no longer.Tried to order a laptop from them, the order was cancelled by them because fraud no one seems to be able to give me any more information than that...phoned 5 times since to find out why I dont have the money back seeing as theyll not send the item, no one knows there *rs*h*l* from their elbow: one guy said it would be back in my account within a couple of hours, 2 others said up to 24 hours and another didnt have a clue only that theyd arranged a refund (it shouldnt have needed to be a refund, just a cancellation of the pending payment)28 hours later and Im without my money or a laptop which was critical for training Ill be starting this weekend!Thanks for nothing Scan, Ill go elsewhere from now go and advise anyone reading this do the same!
