Lived here on a sublease for 2 months, probably worst place that Ive lived. I signed because they sent a contract with a decent monthly price, then told me they sent the wrong contract a week after I moved in, and raised the price. The room was fine for the most part and the included parking was nice, but I still wouldnt recommend living here.
The staff is really friendly. And the apartment has plenty of room for my dog to run around and play.Maintenance is really fast here. They usually respond within a day or two. In a few cases when we first moved in, they were at the apartment in under 10 minutes. The layout is really nice, and the ceilings are super tall. Also a bonus that it comes furnished with pretty decent stuff.Having a great time here, already renewed for next year. :)
Office didnt provide the enough responsible of safety to students who live here. Lack of organization and do not truly care. Not Professional. While requiring for the maintenance work, even request for the previous notification, they didnt send anything before coming. When calling to office and ask for details of workers, they only answer is I dont know. And ask me to open the door. If someone open the door and have immediate dangerous, who are going to take responsibility? If the office hired someone else for solving the maintenance work, they need more reliable connections between them. And send EVERY NOTIFICATIONS! I dont know is not a responsible answer for the luxury property.
Great apartments, separate leases and fun, friendly staff! A little on the pricey end but totally worth it. Staff always had fun activities and giveaways for residents. Only suggestion is for two locks to be placed on doors (one on knob as well) for safety purposes! Otherwise I would definitely recommend :)- Brittany Marks
I love living here! The amenities are wonderful- if I need to study or get a work out in I can anytime of the day! I also love how quiet and serene the property is. I feel right at home here.
Awesome locality, awesome management. Great amenities. Beautiful scenery. Super GYM. Would recommend this to the people who like peaceful silent surroundings
Very happy living at The Fields! Maintenance is always very quick to respond to requests. Overall a very nice apartment with great amenities!
Apartments feel dated, but they are bigger than most luxuryapartments and the grounds are beautiful.
Great place to live, lots of nature and places to walk. The resident events are great. The clubhouse is a fun place to hangout with friends and the gym has everything I need.
Very great apartments - i especially love the amenities and all of the things they do for their residents. I’ve won a target gift card, chipotle, milkshake, multiple sodas.. all for liking / commenting on their Instagram posts! Overall, the apartments are very homey & spacious!
It’s a decent apartment for the price....you get a lot of space and perks. That doesn’t mean the stuff you get is always worth the price, basically all of the amenities are broken and no effort has been made to fix them, yet thousands of dollars can so easily be spent on persuading residents to renew their leases? Anyway, it’s nice that it’s pet-friendly and that they try to do activities at the clubhouse. Another downfall is the obvious money grubbing that’s happening. Charging residents asinine fees for random maintenance tasks like replacing lightbulbs and unclogging the sink or tub, or charging you for not picking up your dog’s waste without any proof that it was your dog. We only stay because of the nice location and the amenities, as subpar and broken as they are some places don’t even have them so we can at least appreciate that. Everything here is just cheap and it can make you feel ripped off. Here’s to another year!
Absolutely love living here! great amenities and awesome resident involvement.
We had our wedding at their clubhouse. It was a very nice venue. However, the management promised several amenities that were later restricted the day of our wedding, such as not being able to use the bar fridge. Also, the oven in the clubhouse that was to be used for heating food was broken the day of our wedding which forced our food to be cooked off site. When this was brought to the attention of the management, they were unresponsive. Additionally, the management was not very accommodating to simple requests we had in hopes to improve our wedding day. It was a very beautiful venue with some nice photo spots but do not expect the management to be accommodating to make your wedding day run more smoothly.
I think the rent is appropriate for the amenities offered along with the furniture. However, the location is really far away so be prepared to have a car. My problem with them is that they fined me though I was an international student during a pandemic, 25$ for not removing a few items of groceries upon leaving and fined me 115$ for not returning the keys from India though I told them I would be arriving in a week. The staff/management only appear to be helpful and nice but are not considerate at all. They are going to post a generic reply below pretending to trying to contact me but dont be fooled they dont care. Thank you and glad my time here is over.
I was there for my sisters 50th wedding anniversary. Its very nice and everyone felt at home there.
Very nice clubhouse and amentities
The Fields has potential to be a nice place to live, however, there property is a little run down. I moved in 7 days after my lease had started and the place was a mess. Carpets had holes in it, clumps of hair everywhere, hair stuck to the walls in the bathroom, floors were chipped up, etc. The place was obviously not looked over or cleaned before we moved in. The management did take care of most of the problems once we brought them to there attention: replaced carpet in one room and shampooed the remaining carpet. The amenities are nice, but again could use a little more attention. The two things that do stand out is the layout and size of the individual units as well as there proximity to the college mall area.
Good and clean community, good amenities for an affordable rate!Average management which is not much keen on helping out. Been more than a month and I havent received my gym access card. Also, little less cooperative during move in. They were wanting entire month of rent for my 3 days of stay in the month of July. Hopefully, this review calls for a change in attitude.
When we came to move in day, the first apartment intended for us was not in livable condition. Although, management did take care of us and were able to relocate us to an apartment in better condition. The unit we are in is in relatively good condition with only a few things that needed to be fixed due to lack of use. Overall, the amenities are really nice and management and maintenance has been friendly. Although, recently we have had some issues that are concerning. When it comes to disruptive neighbors, management doesn’t seem to know how to handle them. Our neighbors have consistently been playing loud music and throwing parties until the early hours of the morning (2-3am) since they’ve moved in. On top of that, there was a period of two months where a distinct marijuana smell leaked in from the adjacent apartment. The smell filled every room of our apartment and was even giving me really bad headaches. When we contacted management, they only directed us towards calling the non emergency police line. In addition, they said that they would send a maintenance person to come and check if there was a way to stop the smell from coming over. They never came. It was surprising to us since our neighbors’ actions are specifically stated in the lease as being prohibited. I can only imagine how their actions affect the condition of the unit for future tenants. In addition, after contacting the police, we were surprised to learn that they cannot even locate ours or our neighbors addresses. What if an emergency were to happen? Emergency services wouldn’t even be able to locate where we are. There have been a total of three times in which we were told the officers searched for and could not find the house. There are too many times to count for which management has been alerted of these issues and done nothing, or even tried to discuss these issues with us. I am disappointed in their ability to deal with problem residents. In my personal opinion, it seems as if they want to be everyone’s friend, but are unable to do their job as apartment management to protect the environment in which their residents live. It is not too much to ask that we be allowed to have a relatively quiet (at least past 11pm) and safe environment in which to live. I would expect to have a quiet place to sleep and study, especially with Finals week upon us. In this sense, The Fields has failed to do so and we will not be resigning to live there.UPDATE: While I do feel like management was very proactive (only after I had to leave a review) some of the things they said are contradictory. For instance, beforehand we were told in person that any music at such a loud level is something we shouldn’t have to deal with at any time, but after the holidays they changed this stating that as long as the noise was between 6am-10pm they couldn’t do anything. Which means that at 7am when we were woken up with the rising of our neighbor, there is nothing that management will do about it. Don’t get me wrong, the Fields is a great place to live, as long as you aren’t lucky enough to get a bad neighbor. But overall I feel like management has been ineffective in dealing with disruptive residents. So I would definitely consider living here, but know that they fall short in this area.
Horrible place to live, avoid at all costs.
Very nice
Difficult to get responses from office
I am a grad student and did serious research before deciding on The Fields. Bloomington housing options can be incredibly overwhelming. Several positives that won me (and my roommate) over include furnished units (for no additional cost, which saved a ton of money and stress), two beds and two baths (were both adults... I really dont like sharing bathrooms), nice gym with freeweights, pools, plenty of parking, big windows, five minute walk to the 3 and 9/9L bus stop (from our centrally located unit, but others are a bit farther away), high-speed internet included (its quite good, streaming and games no problem), no mold or mildew (Im a singer so thats a nonstarter), and they were having a sale when we signed the lease. Did a little research again before signing for a second year and it all held up so we both re-signed. Good but relatively standard stuff. Here is the reason I logged on to write the review:I received a very nice king bed from family who was moving. I called the office yesterday afternoon to see if they could take the bed and frame from my room (since it is a furnished unit). Emily (I think?) said absolutely! and put in a work order for me. This morning I got a text that said the work order was assigned to Travis and by 2pm he came (with a mask on! Thank you!) loaded everything up quickly and efficiently and was on his way. Excellent all around. Can it be a bit pricey here? Meh. I think its actually reasonable for the price and Im quite happy with it. Considering I signed on for a second year, I can safely say I recommend it for anyone past the dorm phase.
When I moved into my apartment, it wasnt cleaned or maintained. My carpet smelled of dog pee and was torn up by the last owners dog. My roommates window didnt work and my bathroom had hair stuck on the wall.We have several failed windows they wont replace. My window leaked air.Im a capitalist and I own rental properties, but they are too corporate. They view us as cash and not people.
I remember when The Fields was actual literal fields. Things have really gone downhill since then.Get it? Downhill. Its a pun, because its called The Fields, and fields sometimes have hills. Or maybe they have to be flat? Is a hilly field a meadow? Is that what that is? I always wondered, when it would come up in poems and movie titles and retirement homes, but i was too embarrassed to ask anyone.
The fields is a good place for your choice if you want to move out from campus. Near college mall and the service is great as well. If will be much better if the price cheaper a little bit.
If I could give zero stars I would. They force you to sign the lease BEFORE confirming whether you are approved or not, so that if you are not... youre forced to either pay $2,000 to get out of it or deal with the consequences. And for those who are new to the game, heres how the scam goes. You sign lease(the only way to actually apply) --> dont get approved --> rather than getting your deposit back, losing out on the application fee and going on your way like everyone else... you have to PAY to get out of your lease. 2 months rent to have someone take over (meaning the person taking over has to pay 3 months rent total to move in) PLUS whatever expenses it costs to move into the place you do get approved at. No one has that kind of money laying around to be manipulated out of. OR Dont pay(because you literally cant if you want to survive), have it on your record, not be approved anywhere because of it, then live on the street. So yeah, they single handedly have put a family of three on the street. Ill be sure to hold my sign RIGHT in front of their complex so they can drive by us every day and night. Not like theyd care, they get to close this review out and drive him to their cozy bed at the end of the night. Screw this place.Edit to add(after seeing below reply from owner): Real cute trying to look good for the review. I sent an email a week ago, and Im more than willing to provide public screenshots... and guess what I havent gotten... a response. You all dont care about anything but money and pretending to care. You know what I got in response when my voice cracked on the phone when I was given my options? A cold those are your only options even AFTER I mentioned that this would put my family on the street. No regard for the lack of sense your system actually makes. Also, I gave you two days... wheres my email?
I do recommend this place to live. You got what you pay. The administration is very respectful and responsible. The pool is really sweet and quiet. The are under retrofit, hopefully the new amenities will complement the pools they have (very well maintained).
The fields is a really nice place to live at. The rooms are all a decent size and its a very chill community.
This is the first time ever in my life that I would like to write a negative review on anything. Management did a terrible job on communicating with residents, in which ended up costing me a huge late fee. The funny thing is that management has no means of waiving the late fees, which is a joke on their accounting systems. Except this terrible experience, house is good and environment around house is nice.
Clubhouse needs better air conditioning
Everyone at the Fields is so nice and ready to help with whatever you need. So far I’ve had a great experience with the Fields.
The Fields staff/management respond very fast and make their residents a top priority. We really love the free drinks & snacks at the clubhouse! The apartment itself is nice after days of cleaning. When we moved in it was filthy. The carpet is absolutely destroyed, but they wont replace it because it is not as bad as other units. The entire place smelled like smoke and still does. Maintenance did, however, fix a few things that were broken after we moved in and put in the requests.
The fields is a nice community which contains swimming pools, bus stops, gyms, clean street and so on, It is very convenient to live in the fields. It is not far from school and very close to Kroger,
Great place to live!!
The new upgrades are great! Nice living facility for a college student! Good location as well!
It is very comfortable. There is on site laundry, gym, near kroger and buses to get you to campus
My sister-in-law recently got married here and the reception was at the fields. It is a good location for a wedding and reception, the only downfall is there is not a hotel nearby for all the guests to stay at. Thankfully uber is an option for transportation.
Great service. Love it. Come and live at this awesome place!!!
Good neighborhood kind of hard to see signage for buildings. Make sure you know where youre going when coming here at night!
New renovations to the clubhouse are great, really looking forward to whatever theyre doing with the pool, the new dog park is really nice, I just wish they would keep the South Central Bark instead of tearing it down.
As a student at in IU, its so necessary to have a home in Bloomington. After 3 months of living here i felt the neighbor is so beautiful and the service is great.
Great apartment to live with/without the roommate(s).
A wonderful, pet-friendly apartment community! My dog absolutely loves the dog park here!
TLDR: Very Clean, Good Breakfast, Parking is annoying.Nice clean hotel, Breakfast was great! Staff was very nice and you cany beat the location being this close to downtown. A fair distance from IU but a manageable walk. Also a little bit of a hike to the larger bars on Kirkwood. Parking is a little bit of a pain.
Nice residency with awesome pond with some nice size largemouth bass, and bluegill.
My SO and I just moved in. Were bouncing back and forth between Indy and Bloomington. The staff has been exceptionally understanding. We signed the lease via docusign since neither one of us could make it to Bloomington to sign the lease. We got to the apartment and it is lovely. I love the fact that everyone has their own private entry and address (no apartment number!). We noticed a few things that needed tending to in the walk through and maintenance completed all of our request extremely well. Jackie was our initial contact and followed through with us even after our move-in. So far so good!
Outrageously costly housing for the scions of high ranking communist party officials while they pursue their graduate degrees.
I came to visit since orientation & office was closed. i called & they said nthing was left for august. i called again 2 ask abt sept & another woman tell me they do have august. bad staff.
Very nice apartments with great amenities. Pricey but nice.
Terrible. The property management is awful, the managers in the office think theyre high and mighty for whatever reason, which is hilarious, because theyre property managers in Bloomignton, Indiana. These arent New York penthouses were talking about. Were talking about crappy small apartments in a horrible state.
Terrible experience. Bad service. They are unwilling to offer help. Dont live here. You will regret it the first day you move in.
Great place somewhat overpriced.
Its ok
I love living here
If you like nasty smells and bugs have fun.
Nice apartments.
Very cold, and crass people. If youre not Asian dont bother.
Even tho i didnt live there although i like this place
TERRIBLE SERVICE, RUDE, NEVER RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING. Do not live here.
Its OK except of the internet
Good apartment
I do business there. They are friendly.
Worst place ever
Amazing vibe
Oops
Amaziing venue
The staff sucks
Poor.
While I love living at the Fields, I find this place, an entity of Asset Living to be one that reproduces inequity in how they go about pricing and advertising for people to renew or even sign their lease. The model employed caters to those who are privilege. Which then makes sense why so many privilege non people of color live at this property; easily turning away people of color. The Fields caters to a campus community that has diverse populations. There are so many people who do not have guarantees in funding as early as October but really love the Fields and either wants to stay or live. But, if your department at school only solidifies your funding package for the following school year not until April, then basically you are out of luck in being able to take advantage of the low prices. Which isnt equitable and largely disadvantageous to those who are financially insecure. Ultimately this model says, if you are broke, you will pay more, if you have money and are secure you will pay less. You are awarding people who have money. You are also punishing people who need little more time to be sure. Again, great place to live and its not a matter of expense but a matter of timing. What can the Fields do to rectify this?
Why is it so pretty
