🕉️Shree Dwidhameshwar Mahadev Temple🔱Bhuj🕉️The historic Swayambhu Shri Dvidhameshwar Shivalaya is located in the center of Bhuj, the district headquarters of Kutch, near the Kutch District Service House and in front of the residence of the District Collector. Devadhideva Mahadev has been sitting in this holy place since ancient times in the form of two different genders hence this place is also known as Jodia Mahadev. It is believed that two spontaneous Shivlings appeared at the same place in the Satyug, but no one knew of their appearance.During the monarchy, cows of the royal family were brought for feeding in the natural desolate pastures away from the main fort of Bhuj, which were being milked in a suspicious manner. Flows.!. This spontaneous twin Shivling was being anointed by Gaumata. Thus about five hundred to seven hundred years ago the place of Shri Dvidhameshwar Mahadev came to light. This Shivalaya has been constructed by Shri Laxmidas Kamdar with the permission of Kutch Raj. Usually there is only one Shivling installed in the sanctum sanctorum below a peak but two different Shivlings can be seen here. Besides, two Parvatijis, two Ganapatijis, two Hanumanjis, two turtles and two Nandjis can also be seen in this temple. Thus everything is installed in pairs in this unique Shivalaya. For a long time Dvidhameshwar Mahadev was worshiped by Nagabavas called Aghori Avadhut. Outside Bhuj at that time, this Shivalaya is believed to be the center of Shiva worship and Mantra-Tantra Vidya for the Nagasadhu, the proof of which can be seen even today in the form of Samadhi of Mastram Bapu, Surdasji and Parashuram Bapu in this temple premises. Naturally always migrating, the Nagasadhus left the place over time and about a hundred years before the rest of the gods, Dasnam Goswami, who was on duty in the Kutch State Police Department, was entrusted by the Kutch royal court with the responsibility of serving the twin Mahadevs. Shri Dvidhameshwar serves Mahadev unceasingly. At present, the fourth generation Hareshbhai carries the responsibility of worshiping Shiva. When Swami Vivekananda visited Bhuj during his Kutch Yatra, he spent the night in the premises of Shri Dvidhameshwar Mahadev Temple. The historical significance of this Shivalaya can be understood from the fact that the room still exists today. Although there is a platform for birds and limited space in the temple premises, a cowshed for cow mothers has been arranged by the temple committee. From the grant given to Shri Dvidhameshwar Mahadev Mandir by the devotees, many works related to religious, social as well as animal-service are done.
