Ambience is very so-so. Had Mutton Kasa and Crab Curry and they were absolutely delicious. Its not authentic Odia cuisine though, more of a Bengali with Odia mix.
Very Good and awesome taste of every dishes.Finger licking Foods.Interior are very unique. Like Arabic and Royal. Also Odia foods are Awesome. Like Veg Thali and Non-Veg Thali.Specially Mutton Keema with Masala Kulcha tastes awesome.Prices are very good and Affordable.Staffs vare very polite and knowledgeable about foods.
Located in Patia, Bhubaneswar it offers local Odia delicacies. The interior is satisfactory (could have been better), though the tables are very tightly designed. Food offered is good enough. However more than traditional Odia cuisine, one finds more of Bengali food. Service is fair. Rates are in medium range.
Nice Restaurant for Bengali dishes..Overall quality and service is nice.
Most of the menus are in Bengali and Bengali style foods. Not a single menu is a odiya authentic food. However, we odiyas do not have the terminology “ Sohala Ana Odiya”Our terminology is “ AME Khanti Odiya”....Please change the name Solo Anna Bangali
Truely a great experience of bengali cuisine. Wide selection of bengali Delicacy are available . Beautiful ambience to dine with family and friends . located at one of the prime location in the city of Bhubaneshwar. This restaurant is great for bengali people who are away from home and wants to taste bengali cuisine, which will make them remember about their home.A big thumbs up for Shohala Ana Odia.
One of the best place for traditional Odia foods..
I was disappointed.I had a lot of expectation from the external look and the way they have branded. But really disappointed after visiting.Menu: price on very higher side, better you visit Kaniks Restaurant of Mayfair. You will get five star food at this price. Or else you visit Dalma, Odisha Hotel or Juhar you will get better foods at a lower price. This hotel did tried to include Odia dishes but menu mostly have Chinese and North Indian. Poor thought given. Doesnt deserve the name.Quantity: Extremely disappointing. I have ordered for an Odia Bada Thali and I am surprised to see the quantities of items given. That wont be enough to feed a teenager. The saga bhaja given was just two teaspoon. (See the picture)Service: Dissatisfied, I asked the boy about the quantity, he said its their standard quantity, rice and dal can be given later but other items will cost extra. I asked him are you an Odia and whats the quantity of Odia side dishes that you normally eat in home. You should give that much quantity when you are offering a plate and charging exorbitantly. Shameless person said, sir you are right but this is our standard. I asked for their manager/supervisor he said they are on leave. Summary the standard is of poor standard.Quality and Cleanliness: Average. Dont keep any good expectations, if you are ever visiting there. One of the bowl I found stained of repeat using. Horrible. How can they give such a bowl. (Refer photo)Think again before you visit.
If you are a Bong and miss your homes food, this is the place for you.... Authentic Bengali and Odia foods are available here. The place aint cheap though. But gives a good quality for price although a bad quantity for price.... I also loved the way food is served here.... Had Prawn Malaikari, Pomfret Sorse and Ilish Bhape here with rice and Aloo Bhaja....
Awesome Place of authentic Odia and Bengoli mouth watering dishes (Veg/NonVeg)
One can get good Odia/Bengali cuisine at this place. The food is quite good here. Do try out the mutton dakbanglow here... its quite tasty. Some of the dishes are quite good while some of them are too bad, like I ordered a plate of peas pulao which was quite tasteless and the other day I ordered fish paturi, believe me, I had my worst fish paturi at this place. Please dont try fish paturi here. This place also serves Chinese cuisine.Anyways you can visit this place and you can have mutton or chicken dishes out here.
The original sitting area is closed. Now people are made to dine in Lal Quila restaurant. Quality of food has deteriorated. Very oily & taste is of an average restaurant. Only veg moong dal tasted good. Packaging was not good. Items had spilled over.
Not recommended for Odia people. If you are looking for authentic odia then please dont go there. Fiki daal, fiki subji. Fish was good, but not worth the price. Biryani was not good at all.Quantity is so less, not even sufficient for one moderately eating person. The waiter tries to oversell on everything. Highly disappointed.
Average dining experience. Its a budget hotel. I would not recommend for a family dinner/lunch
Tasty food and great service. But the name is confusing. Its called Lal quila restaurant
Good ambience, food was good. but as per name I was looking forward to some authentic odia food, sadly couldnt find that
Good food if you like Odisha cuisin .Price of few items seems high when you know how less complicated the item.is and how cheap is the raw materials avaialble in local. But people who are unable to have odia cuisins at residence can enjoy good food over here.- mutton dakbunglow is good- rice and dal fry combinatiom is very tasty- fish paturi is average
Nice👍
Good serviceNice parkingOverall fantastic
Good variety of Odia authentic dishes available. You will find wide range of fish items here. However, once they did not take my input for low spice and oil while preparing the food. So, while ordering, remind them more than once if you have any special instructions.
Nice
Awesome food......Nice culture........Beautiful ambience.........Would love to visit this place again.....They had another branch at Patia....But they have closed it...Dont know why....I wish it were here too....You can go with family, friends, as couples or even alone....Gives a homely feeling.Too good....
Probably it was one of the best place to eat for any occasions. But few years down, the quality got degraded drastically. The fish they serve seems to be like frozen for over a month. Even after deep frying, it feels like something else if not a fish. The people who serves the dishes are not well acknowledged of the dish theyre serving. Some small misunderstanding might also get a bit troublesome and one orders something and then gets served something else. Hope they bring the best out of them like before as soon as possible.
Quality of food is good , but quantity is less in comparison to price , Odia cuisine is good here but not the best one
Simply amazing food .. and crazy low prices. The simple dal and rice is really outstanding the chef here has some real magic. Every single dish was mouthwatering .. must try when In Bhubneshwar.
Excellent experience !! More of a Bengali Restaurant with some speciality dishes from Bengal with an Odia mix. Not very expensive like other Bengali restaurants of Bangalore or Delhi. Great staff and hospitality. Enjoyed a satisfying lunch with family !!
Food are ok. Feels like a hyped place. Not good as original shola ana
Food quality is perfect. You can have good traditional odia food here
Like the food as they served but yes u need to explain the waiters properly what you want often they dont seem so attentive. But I like the food small and beautiful place.
Have just tried one dish here. Trust me its the best and so satisfying.Go for Chicken Dak Bungalow and Yellow pulao. 🤤
Food quality awesome n the behavior of the staff is too good
It has turned into our one-stop solution to have the most delicious bengali food!!Must visit to taste the perfect blend of Odia and Bengali Cuisine!!
Good Bengali food which I was looking out in Bhubaneswar. This place is cozy with decent ambience though below expectations. We were the only customer present on that day.
Tastes Good.. although prices are high..but its worth it
If u want authentic Odia food, then this is THE place. However you need to have a knack for spices which not a lot of people do know nowadays. All the dishes had distinct flavours. Try all fish items and odia style mutton curry with plain rice. The quantity is a bit less. Tell them in advance to serve it with more gravy if you want. Ambience is decent. Service is good.
Good food but small restaurant. Only for typical Odia Food
Authentic Bengali & Odia cuisine. Menu is limited but you will love the options available
We have ordered Chicken dak bungla & pohala fish curry.. too much oily and masala.. fish was stale.. when we asked them they said its fresh and after when we asked the cook to taste and confirm he said there seem to be something wrong during preparation. They didnt even apologetic on this and we paid for the dish.
Name is pure odia. But system is bongali. Hence as usual with odia cuisine u will get best fish curry here. Food is pricey but tasty. Do have pabda shorish and rohi kalia there with a typical odia thali. Extremely satisfying taste there.
Very bad food and service
Awesome food, specially the Bengali cuisine, and well-served aesthetically on banana leaves. The decor, ambience, food quality & quantity, and the pricing, everything was appreciable. I dont miss any opportunity of dining here, and would definitely recommend this place to everyone.
Very slow service and never try veg here. non veg is good. thanks
I am giving 3 star just because of taste. Food really taste great . But most irritating is rude staffs and not hygenic . so what what happened is the broze glass which was on table was dirty and had dust. So I asked the waiter to clean or get me another glass , he argued me no its not .I dont know whether there is any person who manages takes these things in note . so place food is tasty but cant comment on hygiene.
You can find Bengali and Odia food in this restaurant and the dishes are good
Food is good. Staff need to be a bit more approachable !!
Deshi odia food was good. But ambience can be little better..
Dont know about food but rooms are well equipped...Also rooms are currently managed by OYO..
Great place to eat odia and Bengali food
Good food was used to serve here. These days food quality has gone down drastically. Even staff behaviour degraded. If you want to check the authenticity of review, then please go there, spend some money and see for yourself..Good luck
Average hotel with average food. We were a group of 8 people. When asked for 8Thalis they said only 7 thalis can be arranged. It was 1 PM not even late hours.
I had very good experience in Shohala Ana Odia years back when it was near Patia, food was awesome, specially the fish dishes. I recently had a thali there and it was good.
The food was too sweet. But overall it was good
True Odiya-Bengali ambiance. Good hospitality. They speak Bengali too.About food, it reminds me of home. Mutton is great. A full fledged meal for two costs around 700 bucks.
Yellow pulao and mutton dakbanglow is the best combo one can have here. It tastes delicious.
The quality of the food is very good. All most everything that is expected from the Bengali cuisine is available. The decór and the staff are good. Nothing over the top, but a good value for money resturant.
Food is delicious. If you want to taste good and authentic Bengali food in Odisa, this place is a must visit.
Most of the items on the menu were not available. The taste has degraded. Table service not up to the mark. Bluntness and sheer monotonicity justifies the current state of the establishment
The experience was average. Food is little over average. Ambience average, service fine. Nothing exciting that would lure me to go there for the second time. Sorry to say that.
Authentic odia bengali food. Dak bungalow chicken and mutton is worth tasting. After shifting the ambience and service has degraded a bit. Sitting area has also decreased. But no compromise had been done in food, still quality of food is same which is good. Price is a bit on higher range.
The place is a bit old fashioned. Ambience is good but not great. Food is good but I was surprised to see it being served in plastic plates and bowls!
Excellent food.. we tried Bengali delicacies and found awesome..
Horrible food ever... unhygienic and horrible taste..waste of money
Food is superb! but u may not get all the listed menu items on a particular day. Service needs a lot of improvement
Serves authentic oriya and bengali cuisine ..light on tummy as well as on pocket..
Authentic Odia cuisine. Chicken Kasa, Chingudi jhola, Patra poda bhetki are out of the world. Daber Payes , a Bengali cuisine served with shredded tender coconut is a must try. Thali consists of Rice , Dal, Badi chura, Tomato khata, Alu-Gobi ; In general thali could have been better in terms of Rice quality and choice of curries but as a whole its better than average.
Not good. Soup was not upto mark. Rate was higher than others.
Excellent food and service, you can enjoy the bengali foods. best one is macher pathuri.
Nice restaurant and food is good and value for money.
Nice ambience. Whenever I miss my home I went there for bengali food. Yup teast and the quality are good but not best..but still from last time experience I must say that the food qualities are really decrease 👎😦
Except 3 or 4 food items(Badi chura, saga, baigan Baja) ,I dont think it prepares anything Odia specific.Items like daalma are far away from India taste.I think name should be changed to Shola ana Bengali as foods are more likely Bengali.Restaurant is good ,but not for odia dishes.
Homely flavours. Quality bhetki paturi. Damn good luchi. Reasonable pricing.
Best Odia thali at nominal price. Sweet items are also good and freshly prepared.
Nice restaurant and food is good and value for money.
Very poor service. Not worth the money paid. Was served spoilt food.
Authentic bengali and oriya food served here.
One of the best place for Odiya cruisine. Its interior is nice. Most of the dishes are very delicious. Out of all i like dalma and mutton kasa the most.
