Nice place for the well spent evenings with a view of upper lake with a cup of tea

Need to clean it , interior and exterior is good.

It is not worthwhile to visit this Mahal. It may be historical, but the location has been lost, and it is home of many people.  It is not a place to visit, and you will be disappointed if you do. Instead, there are two MAhals nearby, one of which is under renovation, and the other is GOUHAR MAHAL. Its infrastructure has been dismantled and is no longer maintained by anyone. It feels more like a home than a Mahal or an old house. I was very disappointed to put this on my list of places to visit. As a result, it is not necessary to pay a visit.

Even though the outer facade is beautiful and colorful, the inner halls are closed for public.No body wants to protect the mahal as the open space inside the mahal is used by restuarents and life is busy as usual.

Historical palace that could have been a cultural hub but sadly, negligence and stupidity of authorities have left the place in ruins. Houses a couple of restaurants/food joints and Iqbal library/maidan is here only. I wish they maintain it better so we could have guided audio tours and Heritage Walks.

She built the beautiful Moti Masjid, Moti Mahal and Shaukat Mahal.The life of this 200 years old city swirls around its heritage and culture. Bhopal has many tourist attractions like Bada Talab, Van Vihar National Park, Taj-ul-Masajid, Moti Mahal, Gauhar Mahal etc. Although, Bhopal becomes even more scenic and beautiful during the monsoon season, city’s weather is always pleasant!

Shaukat Mahal is situated in the centre of Bhopal. It is a royal building desgined by a Frenchman. It is built in Indo-sarasenic architectural style. It was built by Sikander Begum daughter of Gohar Begum. It is a tourist attraction now and the government is renovating it. A number of movies and tv serials have been shot here.

It is basically a 200 year old Mansion of Nawabs of Bhopal which is now divided among their various descendents.There is nothing much to see as the building is not very well maintained, although the people who live in there are very respectful, polite and fun to talk.

Once in Bhopal a visit to shaukat mahal is a must to see thee the mughal arhitect if lucky you get chance to visit inside as there is a state govt. Office. It is an amazing experience to read about a place with it in the eyesight. Its a pleasure to watch this piece of architecture. Located at the Old City area. Situated at the centre of Chowk area, this is an old and authentic palace and a really nice location for photoshoots!

There is nothing left like any historical evidence. Actually you cant go here for historical visit. Only a gate is there which gives a sign of any old structure existed in some time. Very bad maintanance. Almost whole structure has been vanished. Also some people leaving around there doesnt even know any landmark named so. So much dissappointed.

One of the most neglected historical buildings in Bhopal. This mahal is of national importance but is not at all maintained. Its currently used as the Municipal Corporation office and most parts of the building are breaking down. The administration needs to look into it or else we will lose one of the attractions in the city.
