Museum of Man as the name suggest provides you details of evolution of human, Darwin theory and other such details. Along with this, it also has miniature of art forms, ancient traditional life form etc. Try to visit Lake View from other end. One needs have 2-4 hrs time to visit all the gallery. Entry ticket would cost around 50 Rs for Indians plus 100 Rs for Camera, if you show. Advice would be, to take your vehicle as walking would be tiring. Enjoy the scenery and dense forest.

A must visit place for every tourist.Going there since school days. Be it for National school events or for learning about human evolution or different cultures of various tribes and nomads.Well researched place of national importance. I am proud that Bhopal has such national heritage.₹50 per person is still quite less entry fees for such an amazing place for knowledge enthusiasts. They charge ₹4000 for pre-wedding shoots and ₹2000 for professional model photoshoot.Although, I want the old manav Sanghralaya back, currently more concrete structures are evident. Low maintenance also visible than older days.Pics attached ....

The place is located near by the tribal museum of Bhopal. The fees cost is Rs. 50and is spread across in a huge area. It speaks in volumes about how pottery making is seen as a major development in forming of civilizations and is placed second to the invention of wheels. This place draws inspiration from the old methods used by people i.e; The lost wax technique,Iron smelting, sugarcane crusher and water pumps. Youll have a realisation as to how minor changes through geological scales of time have brought about the major developments that we see in this world today. A good place to visitAnd I suggest it as a must if you are a great admirer of art and history and alongside you can also click brilliant pics here.Have good time buddies....❤️

IGRMS is the largest anthropological museum in the country. Spread over a large area it is physically impossible to see everything in one go. If you really want to understand the anthropological history and heritage of India, plan to spend at least four hrs everyday spread over three-four days. Photography is allowed. Do not waste your time in the indoor gallery. The outdoor exhibits are worth your money. On your way from main ticket counter till parking area keep stopping to view the exhibits on both sides of the road. A nice restaurant on small hillock serves good traditional food.

Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya (IGRMS), also known as “The Museum of Mankind” is an open-air anthropology museum that celebrates many traditions and cultures of India. An initiative by the Government of India, it displays the cultural evolution of India in the most detailed manner. Spread across the Shamla hills in Bhopal, it covers a sprawling 200acres of the area.Being the only museum of its kind, it tells the story of mankind in time and space. The museum exhibits around 40 and more tribal culture and actual-size dwelling of various Indian tribes in different eco-climatic zones of India. The most interesting part of this exhibition is the actual size dwellings and display that has been build up directly by the folk and the tribal communities. It also displays a brilliant collection of pre-historic painted rock shelters, traditional technology used in the earlier days, a trail based on the mythological beliefs of Indian tribes, and sacred groves. Apart from all this, it has modern looking in-door museum, that display a collection of tribal costumes, arts and crafts, agricultural and household implements, and other objects. There is a well-stocked library, audiovisual archives and a huge collection of ethnographic specimens.

(Visited in September 2019) - What a place! Huge and innovative. Went with zero expectations, and thoroughly satisfied. Located within Van Vihar National Park overlooking Bhojtal lake, this seems like a trek into forest! Perhaps one of its kind anthropology museum, this has an insane collection of dwelling units, cults & deities, tools, craft and arts etc of various tribes of India. Kindled curiosity in me and at the end of the day, I felt more informative about lesser known tribes of India. There is a separate Indoor museum too. Word of caution if visiting - you have to walk a great deal if you dont own a vehicle!
