Beautiful part of the country.
Lovely walks, deer and fishing
A great piece of river that winds its way through a lot of trails, helix etc and is great for a stroll. Some areas are better cared for than others but is fairly easy to navigate. Some fair fishing now that its been cleaned up in places and joins up next to the canal in a few places. Parking is available at some spots and they have done quite a bit of approved artwork at some areas.
The river Carron has some spectaculr views and the fishing has improved greatly over the yearsThe part of it that was once a bit of a dumping ground for the old paper mills that used to be one of the main employers in the area is now clean again and is being well looked after again.
Brilliant wee trout river, a day ticket will only set you back £9 and you can easily spend a whole day exploring all the wee runs for some cracking fish. Has a good run of Salmon and sea trout as well now and clean, I love areas around the Viaduct Larbert, swing bridge near gold course and behind Horsemill Inn near Denny, in the summer the river is alive with insect life and hatches.
Like the morning view.
