Dalchini is a rare gem and when they claim to do the elusive Indo-Chinese fusion, they do it better than anyone else in London. The food is lip smacking delicious and they’re able to maintain that on takeaways too! Order using their basic website and they have a rewarding loyalty program too. The restaurant itself was renovated a few months back and is as good a dine in as any other in and around Wimbledon. What makes it outstanding is the warm and efficient service from the team in store, on the phone and while delivering.
A good heart to heart with a friend is all you need to relax. And then you get the indianised version of Chinese food to go with it , its a cherry on the cake.Dalchini gave us a tangy hot and sour chicken soup and sweet chilli paneer as an appetizer. It worked well with all our girly gossips and spicy stories. This was followed by vegetable Hakka noodles and Hunan chicken. Sumptuous dishes that took me back to my city, my Kolkata and its famous Chinese cuisine .The day ended satiating our sweet cravings with banana fritters and vanilla ice cream. A great end to a great day....Follow @the_tastebud_trails for more.
We are locals and have been coming to Dalchini for about 5 years now! Theyve just refurbished the restaurant and it looks amazing, such a great atmosphere. From the food, however, we cannot tell the same because its always been outstanding! Best Indian-Chinese food in town, 100% recommend it!
Indian chinese is my favourite food and this place was great specially considering it is something hard to find in the UK. The service was top notch as well. Will definitely visit again if I am in London!
Stumbled across Dalchini almost by accident but absolutely did not regret it. Service was fantastic and attentive and the food was exceptional. Particular stand outs were the cauliflower, dry chilli lamb and burnt garlic rice. Will be returning for sure
Beautifully renovated, dalchini is a top restaurant in the Wimbledon park area. Great service and the food is exceptionally good. Also the food is halal! 5*
I had a fantastic lunch at Dalchini last week and was really impressed by the refurbishment, making it a really great destination for an evening out too. The Chinese, Indian-influenced, food is exceptional - including the brilliant soups and ginger chicken dishes, and the service spot on.The lunch set menu offers great value for money, and theres a much wider menu available also at reasonable prices for each dish. Highly recommended.
Exemplary food with superb service. The restaurant located just the opposite of Wimbledon Park station. The fresh, local and appealing menu offers local fish, lamb and flavors of indo-china. Everything we ordered was superb! The foods were really really tasty. I specially liked the hot and sour soup which had lots of different veggies in it. The chicken lollypop was extra ordinary. Also, the fried rice was fresh and tasty. In short, its on unique comtemporary Chinease restaurant with Indian taste. I would definetely recommend.
We had a really lovely evening last week, perfect for coming out of lockdown! The food was delicious, with generous portions and super fresh ingredients and genuine home-made feel but five star quality for sure. Very friendly and professional service, too. Will be back with whole family. Can recommend the fish starter with mint chutney and we also enjoyed a splendid aubergine main and a spicy chicken one too.
Lots of interesting different dishes on the menu,I recommend the crispy mushroom starter .
Back to its old self. Very nice food, spicy but the chillies are visible so you can avoid them if you want.
Very good quality of food, and overall chinese food has never tasted better outside India. very authentic. well done to the new mgmt.the decor has also gone a radical change. its really become chic and modern.
Amazing food and service!! Looks great since the refurb. Can’t wait to visit again
Should be about 4.5 stars. Very good food - hot, freshly made and customizable. Havent had indo-chinese like this since my last time in Bombay. Everything however is VERY VERY spicy - to the point that I could not finish my meal. They are very good with dietary restrictions.
Picked up takeaway for the first time this evening after passing by Dalchini a lot in the past few years. The team are friendly, the food fresh and interesting. I was very impressed..... The restaurant is beautiful so looking forward to having dinner there in the future too.
Great service, the mushroom dish was very nice. Highly recommend going!!
The first time Ive eaten at Dalchini was shortly after I moved to the area. It was late in the evening, I had just come from the airport and was starving. They were still open, but it was nearly closing time. I went in, had no idea what to expect, and was hooked immediately. Such friendly and personal service when I was ready to be a treated like a bit of a bother at nearly 10pm with a table of one.My office is down the road, and since then Ive gone for lunch at least once a week to get takeout, often getting larger orders for our team. They do an affordable lunch box selection of rice or noodles and sauces from their evening menu for little more than a fiver. Its always fresh with great meat and fish. The owner changed some time around 2019, but most of the staff were retained, and since then its gotten even better. They have refurbished twice, with the latest changes in early 2021 making the restaurant befit the high-end but affordable cuisine they offer for dining in in the evening. Comfortable chairs, a warm and cosy atmosphere and beautiful custom tableware make coming here an experience now.The food selection is Chinese as it would be in India, with a few Indian and a few more South-East Asian dishes in the mix. Everything seems to always be made fresh and to order, and they are usually quite flexible with request. Dinner portions are generous and the staff are always friendly, prompt and cheerful.During lockdown Dalchini was the first business I trusted with takeaway, and they have always taken great care with following the rules, were quick to adapt masks and sanitiser, and now typically open up their front windows when the weather permits. In our office Dalchini had become such an institution that many missed it during the pandemic. In fact some of my colleagues would order stashes of lunch boxes to freeze at home whenever they had to come to the otherwise closed office building, because it really is that good.I think this is not a surprise, because this place really is a true local gem where the staff, including the owner who usually works the floor, will greet you by name and truly care about their food and the happiness of their customers.
A generous 4 - expected more
A favourite over decades. You wont the Tangra style hakka, if you happen to be from Kolkata in India. To top that, Mihirs everlasting service with a smile !!
The ambiance was amazing!! Food was good. Would love to try it again.
Excellent Indo-Chinese food. The veg starters are to die for. The service was very friendly. Highly recommend the gobi manchurian. I will definitely visit again when I’m in Wimbledon.
Excellent restaurant with takeaway offer, highly recommend the crispy mushrooms, the kung pao chicken and sweet and sour prawns. The egg fried rice is nice and light, and not oily and the banana fritters a good dessert
Amazing food and ambience but what stood out was the quality of service by our server Mihir. Really nice experience. Thanks Mihir!
Really good and different menu, very friendly relaxed place to eat - great atmosphere
Good place! Friendly stuff
Nice service and best Indochinese food....Must try hot and sour soup , paneer chilli spring rolls.
Tasty and fresh food, nice decor and well priced.
Tastey Food on the expensive side. Be careful as they charge sit down prices for a take away. Limited MENU
Best Indo Chinese in London
Most delicious food, great service. Very good Indian- Chinese food. Try their haka aubergine
Lovely little place to eat. Food portions and quality was good. Staff really polite and friendly, especially the owner.Would definitely go here again
The food!! Just perfect ! This is a small place but adequately well managed. The serving staff is so polite and lovely. The owner himself visited each table to seek feedback! A business to support locally.
I ordered a collection for the first time on Saturday and went for the half duck with egg fried rice. The staff were very friendly, the food was a generous portition and very tasty I will definitely be ordering again *****
Excellent restaurant serving very unique and authentic dishes. Our entire group loved the food and the ambience.
Walked in off the street one night wanting to have a nice meal and we were not disappointed. Amazing food, great service and a friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended. Cant wait to return!
Excellent food, great ambience and customer care. We get to dine in Dalchini at least once a month when we go out with our family. Our friends have enjoyed the food too with us many times. During this lock down period the management have kept the service and taste even one step higher for the take aways.
Dalchini is welcoming with charming service and food better than I have tasted since I was in India. The waiters were attentive and service overall was very good !! A great place to have a meal with family & friends !! We will certainly be going back !!! Will give them 10 stars.
Very small portion, otherwise food is good...
Food is good. Only issue I have is they serve alcohol as a halal outlet I dont feel comfortable eating somewhere where things are served that are not Halal
Excellent service even during the pandemic. Food was outstanding. Overall extremely glad to have stumbled upon this restaurant!
This is a restaurant which myself and my family have been going to and ordering from for years, and their standards in lockdown did not disappoint! The food just keeps getting better and better - the fried rice, the tempura prawns and the coconut fish curry in particular are outstanding. If you want perfectly done Indo-Chinese food, this is the place to go!!!
Absolutely love this place! It’s a hidden gem in Wimbledon and definitely putting this down as my future go-to! My daughter is picky but the food was fantastic and there were so many accommodating options for our whole family, really made our night easy. The staff, bless them, put in such an effort to make our meal special, always ready to help us out in any way we needed! But I think what closed the deal for me was the ambience, could really not say enough about the airy, tranquil space! Felt like such an escape and was so nice and relaxing for the whole family (my little one even stopped crying after we walked in). Glad to find the art of unique and accommodating culinary businesses has not yet gone out of style, what with the ubereats and deliveroo ‘s of the world! This place will be recommended to all my friends and I know my parents, despite their old age, will love this place! I have to give out a thanks, again, to the amazing staff for making my evening so special X
Great food!!!If you want to try out Chinese food as it’s served in India this is the place — filled with flavours and delicately mixed spices — don’t miss a chance if you are in the region !!!!
Excellent food, excellent service. Thumbs up to Paraag.
Disappointing. Delivered half an hour late and the pad thai tasted burnt and the Thai red curry had chunks of lemon mixed in with skin on. I think its also quite expensive at £7.50 for chicken fried rice and £11 for a vegetable curry.
Always great food and friendly staff. This is one of those places where you feel welcome. Portions are just right.
Excellent service food was piping hot and really flavourful will be ordering soon glad to have found a gem on this side of town
Best indochinese restaurant in london .Have been a regular for years and the food and service has been excellent. Cozy atmosphere, reasonably priced and close to tube. Cant wait to go back soon.
Having driven especially from Reading to satisfy my indo-Chinese craving, I certainly was not disappointed. Will definitely make the trip again. One of the best indo-Chinese restaurants Ive been to in the UK and easily comparable to any equivalent in India. The chicken manchurian and burnt garlic fried rice was amazing as was the manchow soup.
Overcharged for a group meal by over twice the stipulated cost according to the menu. Food was not palatable - combination of what appeared cook-in sauces from supermarkets mixed with protein sources, and did not taste fresh. Developed food poisoning the next day (think the fish dish caused it). There are better authentic places around for this style of cuisine, would not waste time or money here again.
I ve been there with my family. Their starters especially crispy lamb and Mongolian veg crispies are awesome. Very good service.
I hadnt been for a while and we had a great meal. The cauliflower and mushroom starters were delicious. Its Chineses food the way its served in India.. spiced up! The honey noodles with ginger ice-cream is a must. Mihir always gives excellent service with a smile. Thank you.
An amazing fusion of Indian & Chinese dishes....never experienced it before ....been to this restaurant for atleast 10 years now and will keep visiting for a relish and warm hospitality !!
Great little local place. Amazing food and really nice polite service. Definitely recommend and coming back.
The food was mostly excellent, with some interesting fusion type dishes that Ive never tried anywhere else (battered okra was a favourite) and portion sizes were generous, especially for the starters. Service was also friendly which is always a good sign. Prices are a little on the high side but other than that well definitely be back to try more of the menu!
Fabulous indo chinese! Ordered manchow chicken soup, hakka fried chicken, chicken manchurian and burnt garlic and onion fried rice. The food looked and tasted so good that I forgot to take pictures! Would come again, especially for the manchow soup
Will definitely visit again as the taste of the food lingered on much after I left the restaurant! Good food and very good customer service
Amazing Chinese food with a delicious Indian twist, very reasonably priced and wonderful staff. Can’t wait to go back! Would recommend to everyone
Exemplary service and fantastic food.A friend and I were delighted to find this restaurant. The food was brilliant and really impressed with a specific taste that I was after. The seafood was exceptionally fresh, and I especially recommend the squid for starters, and fish in black been sauce as a main. The soups are also delicious, and a sizeable portion. Our server was very accommodating and friendly, which is really something that motivates me to keep going back to a restaurant. It really made our dining experience even more pleasurable and we left feeling quite satisfied and relaxed. If you’re after great quality, you’ve found the spot.
Very good lamb and Singapore noodles; staff is very friendly and polite
Very nice and tasty food✅.Restuarant very clean.Very friendly staff.Overall Great service
I think this is supposed to be what a Chinese restaurant in India would be like. We really enjoyed it, particularly the starters (Mongolian vegetables exccellent), although some dishes werent quite as we expected. Really friendly and welcoming service added to our satisfaction - the staff seemed delighted to serve us and proud of their restaurant.
Love the food here! Proper authentic Indian Chinese food. I have been here on several occasions over the past year and I found the quality and taste consistent at all times. Highly recommend Indo Chinese food lovers to try this one out.
This menu of Chinese-Indian food is truly premium. The texture of the meat is always perfectly succulent, with fresh herbs and vegetables, very tasty sauce, and all delivered by a top class friendly waiter. This restaurant ranks in 1st place on my recommendations list in London south of the Thames! If you like spicy, definitely have the spicy chicken soup! I have this twice a week, so addictive :) And come with an empty stomach because the portions are always generous!
Yummy 😋 foodFriendly hostWould definitely recommend
Friendly and effiecient service, absoutlely incredible food for a great price - would highly reccomend. Super welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere would reccomend for families, couples or bussiness works great for evryone!
Online prices are wrong- most dishes are a good £1-2 more expensive when you arrive. Doesnt say this online of course! Food was unanimously poor. Chicken had the texture of squid. Noodles were crunchy in some parts of the dish and soggy in others. Seemed microwaved. Service okay- agreed to provide a different dish after first dish wasnt cooked properly. Tried to charge extra as second dish needed rice but when challenged agreed not to. Atmosphere depressing- read other reviews and avoid. This place needs Gordon Ramsay to come visit and do his thing!
Very poor quality take away. Poor ingredients and poorly cooked. Seems like someone who doesnt know how to cook prepared our meal. Not something I expected from 4.1 star restaurant.
Firm family favourite. We eat here all the time: staff are lovely, food is amazing and well priced. Comes highly recommended to anyone who enjoys Indian and/or Chinese cuisine!
Service & food here is excellent. The Hakka noodles & rice dishes are superb. Only negative is the price is a little steep especially the price of the paratha.
Scrumptious lipsmacking food served in good ambience.
Lovely
Fantastic experience here. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, it had a real family feel. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. I will visit again if Im in the area.
Great food and very friendly staff - one in particular! Reasonably priced for take out or eat in. Thoroughly recommend.
Decent food, good lunch deal, very very quick and extremely friendly and helpful staff. I can definitely recommend this place!
Indian Chinese cuisine so dont expect the run of the mill Indian Curry dishes. Chinese dishes with a masala twist, classic from the streets of Mumbai. Manchow soup, chowchu potatoes, Haka noodles and Manchurian gravy are some of the classical dishes you can get. Not too big a restraunt so suggest reserve if your going at peak time. Ambience ok nothing fancy but service was very good. Staff were kind, friendly and accommodating to changes in dishes. If you miss your Indian Chinese flavors Dalchini will take you back.
Good food, superb service.
As a regular at this restaurant and also having ordered take away I would agree that the restaurant atmosphere does lack a little and could be improved however, that should, in no way, take away the fact that the food is amazing. I regularly change my order to test other dishes and in more than 6 years I can honestly say that we have been disappointed possibly only once in that time. The food is lovely and spicy and really interesting and tasty. The staff are very friendly. We love this restaurant.
A delightful evening in this friendly and unusual family restaurant. The food is an interesting mix of Chinese and Indian cooking - with no MSG. The service is excellent - helpful and not intrusive. It is a very pleasant place to bring friends - and not expensive.
Excellent food.
Best indo-chinese restaurant I have ever been to, and I have been to many North and South of the country. I was introduced to this by my acquaintance who has been visiting this place for over a decade, and I can see why. The dishes are packed with flavour and meat quality is better than most. The food is incredibly good value for money and this is restaurant who actually know how to make dishes spicy. The staff are incredibly friendly and always around to help you if you need anything. Every time I am in the area, I always put time aside to visit this restaurant.
Pleasant enough service, however cannot say the same of the food. Crispy duck came quick...way too quick we discovered. Clearly microwave warmed resulting in a dry flavourless dish. Ill agree on the above comment on the ginger sauce being crazy strong, but I wont chastise on this as this is probably the recipe rather than shoddy preparation.
Excellent food and very friendly staff. Ive been eating here for years and the food never fails to be tasty
Great local fusion restaurant. Great staff and yummy varied menu. Suitable for all ages and all people! Would defo recommend! 🤗
One of best Chinese.Vegetable Soup, spicy seafood Noddles just awesome 👌👌Highly recommend
Nice service and ambiance.Amazing aromatic crispy duck!
Excellent food, lovely staff, cosy atmosphere.Very happy
What a disappointment! It was my mothers birthday and I took her here as a treat but it was far from that.We went on a Thursday evening and it only had two other tables with people on itso i expected we wouldnt have to wait long ...As soon as the starters had arrived I realised we probably should of just stuck to ourlocal because it was just horrible! Our food was either stone cold or warm on the outsideand cold in the middle (i think it was a microwave job)Please dont waste your money or time!
A really amazing takeaway experience. Different from the average Chinese takeaway. Particularly loved the Chilli Chicken dish...
Had a Great experience and best of all its halal as well
This place serves good indian Chinese food. nice small restaurant. food is little expensive though.
Very kind service. Generous portions. Good food (albeit not amazing)
If you’ve never been here please be brave and try the dishes that aren’t seen in Chinese or Indian restaurants. There aren’t many indo-Chinese restaurants in London and to have one run by a husband and wife team is amazing. Try the things you’ve never tried before and I promise you’ll be back for more. Keep it up!
