Beautiful traditional Vietnamese tea house with a wonderful and calming interior design. Additionally you can choose between small starters or a small menu of main dishes plus some dessert options. Totally recommended for a Sunday calming dinner. And if you liked the tea you can even buy it to make it at home.
Cant see how this restaurant gets less than 5 stars. I think its a magical place which fills your senses with Asian tastes. The alley from the main street leads you to the restaurant, thus isolating it from the streets noises. Then, when you enter, wonderful scents of insence fill your noise. The shakes and juice are full with wonderful flavours and are served nicely. The food is delicious. Dont miss.
I think this place will join to the list of our favorite restaurants in Berlin. We came here because of the look of the place. Its really beautiful. It can be romantic, it can be chilly or whatever else. The garden on the entrance is beautiful. Now food: very delicious. We have ordered a set from the new cook and we were extremely happy with it. This cook is making a great job! We hope he will stay in Chen Che cause we want come back for his food. Whole this set (11€) is a perfect mix together. Meat was perfectly soft and soup had very interesting flavor. Service was helpful and friendly. The minus: all drinks are to expensive.
Food, cocktail and tea were very delicious. Deserts were 90% sold out, some starters as well. The service however was really bad. It was really crowded and we had to beg every time we wanted to order something throughout the whole night. If youre valuing service as much as the food for a night out than this is not a place for you.
Food was pretty gross and not cheap. The shake I ordered was delicious though, and the location and decoration are really beautiful. All in all only recommend to drink there, I could barely eat the food and it was way overpriced.
The service was terrible and waitresses rude and unfriendly. We were 6 people and just ordered drinks because we eaten before in other restaurant.we just had maybe one hours to finish our drinks and should go because we didnt order food, although the restaurant maybe 60% empty.
Only 2G, seriously? Such places are NO GO. Service was so bad they didn’t even care to bring extra chair so that guests couldSit outside, even though inside was 80% empty. Now I understand why this place has such bad reviews 🤣
Hidden gem, I was surprised. Beautiful garden, nice dishes. Good prices. Staff so so, some of them friendly, some not so much. Kindergarten next to the place not a plus.
Very nice ambience in this Vietnamese restaurant. The location is probably the biggest reason to go. Food tastes good, with nice flavors, yet there are other options in this great town to find more authentic Vietnamese food for a lower price. We find the food might be subtly adapted to Western palate -- its milder and plays it safe.
5 stars for the coziness and deco. The place looks amazing and reflects well the architecture of Vietnam back in the day. 3 star for the food. The display once again was on point but unfortunately I didn’t find it either authentic or special if supposed to be fusion styled. 2 star for the manager of the place who completely ignored my friends and I when we arrived in the restaurant’s yard and was looking for some help with the bike. The person saw us struggling but decided to ignore. Not gonna come back unfortunately.
Chen Che is a little Berlin gem. Its hidden away in a backyard in Berlin Mitte and if you dont pay attention you will most likely miss it. The moment you enter the tea house, you feel like you entered an entirely different world. The traditional Vietnamese interior design with the amazing smell of tea is a great form of escaping the busy city-life. The atmosphere is so chill, you just dont want to leave.Really like this place for its tea. They are offering an interesting mix of teas and blends that go very well together. It is a joy slurping the tea and just enjoying the quietness away from the busy road.
It is difficult to find but it is definitely worth a visit as you will really feel as if you were in Vietnam. The place is really well decorated as a tea plant in Vietnam and, what is more important, the courses are really well prepared and have that Vietnamese taste that only natives could get.Just one remark: they only take cash.
A nice hidden place. The interior is nice. In the summer you can sit in the garden. Lunch hours are quite busy, so try to be there before 12:30. at 13:00 the place is packed. Reservations online are possible, but not for two. They did not pick up the phone all three times. Lunch Menus are short, but you should give it a try. Teas are delicious, but cost more than 4,50€. Service is fast, but not friendly. Food is good, but price is above average. Dogs are allowed in restaurant. Payment cash or cards.
Really nice place and delicious food but I always get sick after eating it
I got the chicken curry main dish and it was very delicious and filling! I would definitely come here again to try another dish. Unfortunately, because it was so packed, we had to go in a table between people, which made it a bit awkward at first. Looked great, but the seating arrangement could be improved.
This place is a hidden gem! Love the food. Highly recommend it.
As soon as you step into the front entrance, you would feel like you’ve been transported to somewhere in Southeast Asia. The smell, the lighting, the decors, all spot on. We went for afternoon snack, the selection was a bit limited but still very excellent. For more interesting dishes, try to go for brunch.
Nice atmosphere, but food served super late(probably after order 1h or more), service wasn’t nice..after all waiting, food was „okey“ quality..
I love the Asian interior and exterior decor, it’s a really cozy spot, food is reasonably priced, although not the best tasting. The cocktails were also a bit disappointing considering the price. Description of cocktails does not match the outcome nor the price. I would visit give it a 2nd chance though, maybe order something different to eat.
I think one of the best Vietnamese restaurants i have ever visited. The atmosphere is great and The food really tasty
The ambience is just amazing, you wont feel like its in the middle of the city. Bamboo garden in the backyard, theyve done a great job there.Food was also good. Most of the dishes you can get with tofu instead of meat (being a vegetarian, its my duty to share this information ;)). I had the rice with red curry, peanut sauce and veggies (first one on the lunch menu). Not too oily and great flavours.Pleasant staff and fast delivery even with a full house.A bit pricy for everyday lunch though. Lunch menu starts from 7euros and costs like 11-12 bucks on a regular evening.Had a good experience, would go there again
Really good and fresh food. Fully recommend
Good but not amazing food
Good location and backyard. Food was too salty and not tasty. Poor service, mice in the backyard, cash only!!!!
Very nice Vietnamic restorant. Special dishes and strong flawors. Original Vietnamic team. Not cheap.
Biggest drawcard of this place is the calm, peaceful atmosphere. Somehow they have combined the efficiency and speed of a classic Asian restaurant with a tranquility typically reserved for the better class of day spa. Highly recommended!Oh, and definitely try the Vietnamese coffee - a delightful experience that will make you reluctant to return to the German soup bowl of hot milk approach 😄☕️
Very nice interior, good service. They dont have so many options on the menu, but they also have daily specials. We had lemongrass tea and the daily specials, duck and glass noodles and warm chicken noodle salad. They were good, but nothing out of the ordinary. The warm chicken noodle salad was a bit strange. Wouldnt order it again. Overall it was a good experience.
My favorite thing about Chen Che is the environment! Such great decor and ambiance. The staff is also friendly although can take a while (especially if you’re seated outside in the garden). The garden is beautiful and huge though!!However the menu options aren’t my favorite and the food is pretty average. But the drink menu is quite eclectic and tasty. This is a place I go to if I want to enjoy the space with good company more so than just the food.
Nowhere near as Viet Nam authentic cuisine.Im Vietnamese and this is so far the worst Viet restaurant Ive came in Berlin. We ordered mango salad and Bánh tôm hồ Tây as starter, bún riêu and bún chả giò as main course. They are all bad. Mango salad and bún riêu are another level of salty and not edible at all, the sweet tomato in bánh tôm is still raw, the rest is just bad and completely different from authentic taste.
With a great ambiance in the contemporary shopping district in Mitte, Chen Che is my favorite restaurant in Berlin. The food is scrumptious but reasonable, the place is pretty Zen especially in the garden with fish. The servers are really nice and if youre a fan of Tae Yang, you might find his lookalike there. Fast service but foes get packed in the evening.
Chen che used to be a nice restaurant with tasty food and a beautiful backyard. This time the visit turned out to be a big disappointment. We were given a menu not from Chen che but from District mot and almost 60% of menu with grilled meat was not available (cash only). We ordered bahn mi (Vietnamese baguette) but we got a sandwich with Döner bread. When asked for a bill, We were charged for 6 EUR for an iced Vietnamese coffee even though in the menu the price was 3.5 EUR and was not informed or asked about this 2.5 EUR ice surcharge prior to the order. That would be our last time to visit here.
Looking tired from last time i was here. Place and staff need a happy pill.
Great atmosphere! Fantastic blu milk tea!!!
Nice food. Had the daily dish duck curry.
I really had a bad experience with this restaurant. The service was terrible and waitresses rude and unfriendly. We got our food after 55 min and I ordered extra rice that they brought to me after I already finished my food. A colleague of mine wanted to order tap water, shes been told that they dont have it and after saying that the waitress just ignored her and went away, instead of asking if she wants something different.
The atmosphere of this restaurant is better than the any vietnamese restaurant in Berlin. Quiet looks authentic, good quality of food. But personlly the price is a bit expensive and it does not have much of choice of menu. But in general good quality of vietnamese restaurant. I will definitely visit it again.
Hidden restaurant in the backyard in Berlin Mitte! You better find it, because it is definitely worth going there! The atmosphere in the restaurant is really nice. Compared to many other Vietnamese restaurants in Berlin, this one is light flooded. The food is delicious and comes in big portions. The dishes on the special menu of the day are a really good choice. All prices are fair. For less than 50€ you would get a three course menu with drinks for two.If there is good weather you can sit outside, it is all decorated with huge plants.
Second visit, still as good as the first time. definitely one of the best in Berlin!
The starter was really good! When we arrived the staff was kind of nice but not over the moo. ;-) During the night they’re enthousiasm got less, maube because it was 31st of december? By the time we got the desert it was almost thrown on the table :-( It was nice tough! The hotpot is not really my thing but the food was fresh!! Hope they do a better job on a regular night!
Great food and atmosphere at awesome prices
Great food and great atmosphere!
This place has become our favorite Vietnamese Restaurant in Berlin! Very cozy atmosphere, friendly service and delicious food and drinks.
Tasty Vietnamese food. The place is also authentic. Tend to be busy, so try to book.
Hidden in a backyard in the heart of Berlin, offering delicious authentic vietnamese dishes and a variety of teas. Great atmosphere, try to sit outside in summer.
Would have given it a full 5 stars if they accepted card payments for bill close 100 euro.
Beautiful, cozy interior, and one of the best Vietnamese in Berlin by far. Presentation and flavor match!! Definitely going back soon for the amazing selection of teas!
Terrible service but really nice aesthetics and good food
Had a wonderfully smooth coffee and delicious starters. I was too hungry and they were too scrumptious, so I forgot to take pictures of the starters.
Best Viet restaurant ive ever been!
Quick service, great food, reasonable price, have child seats. Decor is brilliant. All in all, a good place for food.
The clerk was very rude! He asked me the order number. I read it wrongly the first time and then I corrected it immediately. The clerk was very angry and yelled at me loudly: I asked you two times. Next time read your number correctly!
Nice atmosphere and warm interior design that made me feel comfortable dining here. The tea costs around 3,5-4€ per cup, which is not particular tasty. The restaurant was busy on a weekend afternoon. But somehow they failed to offer the afternoon combo set which was quite disappointing.
Beautiful space and a good business lunch. Unfortunately not too many vegan options. However, there is usually one vegan daily special and a couple of other starters and mains on the menu. Try the soup!
Exceptional food and ambiance on a budget.
Fantastic fresh vietnamese food. Very nice atmosphere and decoration. A bit more expensive compared to other Asian restaurant in the area.
Marvelous atmosphere. I definitely marveled.
Good place, perfect environment. Different
A very authentic vietnamese restaurant. Unique but small portions.
Great taste, crispy vegetables, fast and pleasant service. Nothing but great.
Well, exterior and interior are the best what this place can offer. The service was slow, food - greasy. I ordered a burger...but would call it crispy chips with a cabbage salad, but not a burger. They serve a good tea though!
Love the vibes, great decoration. The food and drink served fast and the staff are friendly. The price bit pricey!
We were going there for years and it was always lovely. Then the menu got reduced to 6 dishes only and the quality decreased dramatically. Also we had to seat outside on a very cold day as all tables inside were reserved but no one occupied them.
Splendid interiors, but extremely poor service. Ordered a plate of king prawns with sweet potato rosti, and got a McDonald’s looking plate with fries and one - literally one - prawn. Disgusted with the attitude of the waitress, whom additionally ignored our request to have a look at the “deals menu”. For the record, my dish was even broken. Not recommended. A real pity, seen the wonderfully local Vietnamese interior design.PS: If you order tap water, that equals to one glass. They cannot refill.
Food and tea are delicious and the whole atmosphere is very special, but the staff is not very friendly.
Beautiful place. I used to go there with friends, they didnt specify it in the menu but they were aware of gluten and you could eat save if you talk to them. Unfortunately its not the case anymore...
Very nice! The food was excellent! Loved it!
The place is incredibly beautiful and spacious. The tea selection and food correspond fully to the Vietnamese culture but our experience was negatively affected by the very cold temperatures inside....
Came here with high expectations due to the positive reviews in Google. Turned out to be quite an uninspiring dinner experience. While the ambiance was lovely the food was mediocre and the service was non existence or at best, poor!
Easily the best tea house in Germany :-)
Nice Location and atmosphere. Good food for the price you pay.
Absolutely amazing atmosphere and outstanding food. Loved the entire experience, would highly recommend for lunch too.
Very nice flare and food it also taste very good but the Duftstäbchen is very extreme
The Teestunde set is a real bargain! A full-fledged lunch with an emphasis on sweet stuff ;)
