The best Sea food in Bangalore. Every time we’re in Bangalore we visit this place. The boneless crab or the butter garlic prawns are big hits. They also have a lot of veg and chicken options in case you’re not a seafood fan.

Its a very famous seafood outlet in Mumbai and now they have branch in Bangalores Richmond road as well. They have a small live counter too choose your sea foods from. We tried tandoori pomfret which was actually big, well cooked & delicious. We also had their Manchow soup which was as usual. We had Prawns ghee roast & bhuna gosht with neer dosa, appam & tandoori roti for main course. Well we simply loved their bhuna gosht which was tender & perfectly cooked. Their prawn ghee roast was a bit okies, but tasted good with neer dosa. Overall a good place with perfectly cooked food. Definitely a goto place for seafood lovers. Their Lobster & crabs from their live counter are definitely in my list to try out next time.

I had heard about this place so much but it didnt live upto my expectations to be honest. We tried lot of items from the starters and main course but only the Kane tawa fry and chicken korma were worth mentioning about. The chicken korma was simply delicious and the kane fry was so tender and perfectly fried.Coming to the other items, the seafood soup was decent but the fish had a very stale smell. Again the salmon tikka and paneer ghee roast had extra tanginess. The chicken ghee roast was salty. But the main course was quite impressive with the neer dosa and chicken korma and the appam and Vijaywada fish curry. The solkadi was quite good as well.I feel, being a seafood speciality restaurant, they really need to focus more on the seafood items.

The interior design is a bit old, but the waiters are kind. I think the taste is more than the price. The rooms are distinguished and are suitable for meetings. Located on the first floor of the Cears Plaza on Residency Road, Mahesh Lunch Home is another outlet of the legendary one famous for its seafood variants in Mumbai!I visited this place on a Tuesday evening to have dinner with few of my friends. We started with the crab soup which was a perfect start for the night ahead. In the seafood starter section, they had numerous options to try but my most favourite were the Bombay duck which I tried for the first time ever and basa tawa. For the main course, we started with some appam and ghee roast chicken, do try this combination whenever you are here, I bet you are going to love it. Next came the Mallipuram chicken which tasted amazing with the Neer dosa. Then we had the Vijayawada fish curry, pair it with the boiled rice and you wont regret eating it a bit.I guess this was the first place where I loved the main course more than the starters!Ending our dinner with the desserts, we had the tender coconut paysam which was chilled and yummy.

MAHESH LUNCH HOME is a Sea Food Speciality Place that is located at Residency Road. knowing that its a sea food speciality place i was so eager to try out their menu and that led me to try out this place. The Ambience here is good although this place looks slightly dark in the night. love their seats as for me they were comfortable. the Ambience is good but its something which is very common that we see everyday.Service was absolutely lovely and they were quick with serving us up with the dishes. i absolutely have no complaints about the the service as they were actually looking for a customer satisfaction and thats what wins them that brownie point from my end.Staff Behaviour was lovely as they welcomed us in a very friendly way and guided us towards our tables and spoke very politely with us which is absolutely amazing for me especially.Coming to the main reason why i was here is their food. for me personally my favourite was their Chicken Ghee Roast, Prawn Gassi with Appam was the main dish of the night followed by Surmai Tawa fry tasted really good too with rich flavours and Chicken Lasooni Kebab. Butter garlic pepper prawns, neer dosa and the desserts were just about average i would say but however Gulab Jamun is the only thing that i loved from their desserts. The tender coconut payasam and Malai kulfi was average along with their Caramel Custard too. but overall it was a good dining experience here at Mahesh Lunch Home.Their Mocktails were good too but then i would have liked it to be blended even better though.MY RATING : 4/5Ambience : 4/5Service : 5/5Staff Behaviour : 5/5Food : 4/5Drinks : 4/5thats it for my review guys, hope you all have a great day and do visit the place for some amazing sea food. thank you so much and do follow me here if you like my reviews and explores. also do follow me on Instagram : bangalore_foodtalestake care and bu-bye ❤️👍

Mahesh lunch home is a beacon for great seafood in Mumbai. It was started at Mumbai in the late 1970’s and has introduced Mangalore Hi cuisine to Mumbai. And then on Mumbai has opened its arms and welcomed Mahesh Lunch home with arms wide open.Old Classic Mumbai based outlet offering some mangalore delicacies in Namma BengaluruAmbiance – simple decorA appreciable décor, dim lighting and seating options are pretty comfortable. At the entrance one can witness the display of seafood with an array of Lobsters, pomfret, tiger prawns and other delicacies. It’s a perfect place for casual dine in with a group of friends or familyFood – descent experienceWhat a fabulous night it was amidst company of good friends - conversations and loads of fun. What I liked the mostKane rawa fry (lady fish fry tossed along with semolina)Neer dosaChicken korma (suggested by staff) was a pleasant surprise goes well with steamed rice or appamButter garlic 🍤 prawns are pretty good. Had a slight over dose of garlic but yes if it can be reduced a bit it would be a classic.Elneer payasam (Tender coconut payasam) Is simple yet delicious made with a fine balance of coconut milk , some tender coconut slices with a fine balance of sweetness quo which is a popular dessert from Kerala. What needs to improvised –Seafood soup – The consistency of soup is good especially the taste, but it fell flat as the fish used it is not fresh and is a bit stale.Salmon fish tikka – The fish tikka is descent with the flavor’s, but the salmon fish is not fresh again(salmon fish is being refrigerated for a long time) and used, this lead to lack of right melt in mouth tikka taste.Paneer Ghee roast and Chicken Ghee roast – I was counting on these two but these lacked the right flavor , reason they tad tangy flavour and the rich masala used to dish out the ghee roast is just right, but lacked the flavor of ghee. Was not really to my liking.Service – can be improvisedThe staff here are pretty decent (the ones who served us) , but I would urge the management to make sure they work upon by giving them a proper training in terms of the food served, they need to be thoroughly aware of the menu being offered and if patrons have any requests for them.Again a major setback here the person who managed or took our orders initially was out right blunt lacked customer retention skills or what are so called basics of customer service is.They need to seriously work on this and make sure it is addressed right away. But when we spoke to the manager of the place he made sure this is addressed and he personally took care of our table. And then on things were in place.Would appreciate the positive response from the manager here.Appeal to team Mahesh Lunch home – Guys if the petty issues with food as mentioned above and a bit of training for the staff are handled the place deserves a huge round of applause.I have personally visited Mahesh lunch home in Mumbai it is a fabulous place and the main reason the fish is fresh catch and all the sea food dishes are flawless and delicious, service is quick and humble in the Mumbai outlet. So one would expect the same in Bangalore. We had conveyed the same to manager and he has assured that this will be taken care ofVFM – fairly goodThe place scores decently in terms of food, the mocktails are pretty good, the prices are pretty descent.A meal for two would cost up to 1500 with a mocktail. Will come back sure for my love of seafood and my encounter with a special experience I had in Mumbai, I’m sure you folks can correct things and do a fabulous job.

If you are from Mumbai, then this brand doesnt need an introduction. Mahesh lunch home has entrenched its reputation as one of the best seafood restaurants in the city of Mumbai. Now it has extended its business to Bengaluru with a spacious outlet located near Richmond circle. This restaurant has pretty good seating capacity with fine dining ambiance. I was there with a group of food admirers to relish their seafood. I have started my meal with a chicken soup. The consistency of the soup was thick with sufficient amount of chicken pieces and tasted absolutely delicious. Paneer tikka looked very spicy but tasted normal. I liked the taste of butter garlic prawns but garlic was a bit more. Salmon tikka was on the the starters that you must try. Salmon was cooked to perfection with adequate amount of masala and tasted delectable.Vijayawada curry is something I have never tried before. But thats like any other normal fish curry with a bit of extra spice. Thai green curry wasnt upto the mark tasted pretty average. Appam tasted good with all the gravies on the table especially with chicken kurma which is a top notch . Ghee roast chicken is something I didnt like as it lacked the flavour of ghee.Coming to desserts, kulfi was again just average. Tender coconut payasam was really good and a must try. The behaviour of staff was not really polite. Perhaps, management should train their staff on how to behave with customers.

Mahesh Lunch Home- a nostalgia among a fiercely loyal Clientele in the City. Has its roots back from 1977 where it is perhaps one of the place to go to have the Best In Class Sea Food. The ambience resembles a classic place which has stood against the change of time. The place is dimly lit with a seating capacity of around 50 pax at full capacity. The Chef here is a asset to the restaurant and he takes pride in whipping up some of the best dishes with great pride and passion. Experience defines a Class sometimes.Chef... would definitely want to meet you in person. The Service is ONE MAJOR HICCUP here with the Servers clueless, don’t understand Basic English/Request of the patrons. Me being a Vegetarian also Mangalorean, a place known for its sea food varieties was little inconsiderable to visit them. But I usually like to go to these places and check them on taste level as its my native cuisine!Ambience is pretty decent, We had been there for dinner. On other hand my friends enjoyed their Salmon tikka and Butter garlic prawns. What they were going gaga about was Kane Rava fry.For Mains, We ordered some Neer Dosa with Paneer Babycorn Mushroom Sukka and Thai green curry. Neer Dosa was really good. Sukka was nice. Along with that we ordered Malabar fish Tikka which was excellent. As main course we ordered Prawn Pulao, Vegetable biryani, fish curry (surmai) with Boiled rice. The Fish curry with Boiled rice was excellent, along with Fish curry as well as Veg biriyani. However the Prawn pulao was ok. And finally ordered Tender Coconut Payassam which was ok. The ambience will give you the Mangalorean bar and restaurant vibes, with dim lighting.Coming to the food, started with a crab meat soup and the taste is delicious with good quantity of meat. Well, when you come to this type of places you won’t miss trying prawns and fish. The butter garlic prawns was scrumptious and I love the Lady fish rava fry.Next we had chicken sukka which is again a most famous Mangalorean dish, I also can’t resist trying the chicken ghee roast with neer dosa which is a perfect combination and it taste divine.Guys, please don’t miss trying the Vijaywada Fish curry with boil rice, the fish curry is just deliciously delectable. It has been over a year now, and time to visit the legendary Seafood Chain from Mumbai (now I heard they are in Dubai too) serving authentic cuisine from the Konkan Coast. My recent visit to Mahesh Lunch Home did help me sample some of their non Konkan dishes from their menu with a few recommendations from the friendly manager. We started off with a Chicken Manchow Soup which was absolutely delicious, went beautifully with the crispy fried veg our table had ordered. The Salmon Tikka arrived was very well made, but unfortunately the fish was stale that I could not take it.The Kokam Kadi was delicious, fresh and very refreshing, though it had a tad bit of more sourness that it usually needs. The Butter Garlic Prawns were fabulous, that overload of garlic drenched in butter absolutely ticked all the boxes for me.For mains we had a variety mix ordered for our table and shared, the Chicken Korma, recommended by the restaurant was absolutely fabulous, be it with Neer Dosa, Aapam, Or Rice, this one comes highly recommended. The Chicken Ghee Roast was good, and could use a little bit of more ghee flavour to make it more authentic.Desserts were Yumm, especially the caramel custard and tender coconut payasam.Service is something that need to improve tremendously, no I am not taking about the service staff, they were extremely polite, attentive and very courteous, the person who took our order had an air of arrogance that was a little too unbearable, gladly the manager had to intervene and help our table throughout the evening. This place still holds its legendary charm and the delicious if not authentic food they serve, if only they could UP the freshness quotient of the fish, they can continue to be the legends that they always were and always are. If not for these two glitches, this place is an absolute 5 stars worth legend.____________________________April 2018 ReviewAlways wanted to visit this place & I did to sample their lunch Thalis. Not being a big fan of seafood then, I still opted for the fish Thali, as that is what is highly recommended here. What I loved was the Crab gravy, which was yumm, one of the best I had. Though not a big fan of Konkani flavours (primarily because of the use of dry coconut), surprisingly I did like the meal overall, a must have for any seafood lover.

No doubts about the taste, one of the best sea foods i have ever tasted. But heavy on the pocket. If u are a person who wont mind on the cost. Then go ahead for it. Worth a try once in a while.

Superb, old school eating experience. Heart portions, with the fish dishes in particular made just right. I love that they offer both white and brown rice (must try)! The staff are courteous and the tables and bathroom are both clean and well maintained. The lighting is a bit dim in the corner tables though. Still, an excellent experience!

I loved the sea crab with gravy. It was what was on the menu, priced around 500. Caution for those who are lured in by the huge mud crabs. They are weighed and priced. The size of a palm would cost Rs. 3500 or more. The Dal makhni was a bit too spicy, but I like chillies so I loved it. Others might want to ask for low spice. The meals looked good, but Ill have to go for them another time.

Tasty seafood. Ambience was quiet and calm as we visited on Sunday for dinner. Price is on higher side. They say its a good place for buffet which is not available on Sunday. So visit only for buffet. Ala karta could be avoided.

Went last week with family. Food taste is ok. Place is small so overall ambiance wasnt that great. In my case the server wasnt great. So that degraded the experience. Prices also relatively high. My previous one at Kodla had been a good experience .. need to go there in coming weeks to recover from this...

Good food, great taste, not too spicy or bland. The staff are helpful and suggest based on your wish. The interior may need a little upkeeping, but at the cost $$, you cannot complain. Its kept clean and neat. Tables are a bit too close I felt, but not too bad. Definitely a place to try and go again.

The restaurant was easy to find. Once we entered we were greeted and taken to our table. This restaurant specializes in seafood, especially of manglorean style. We get to choose our own seafood, so its interesting to say the least. The spice level is medium and the food is very tasty. In quantity, they give a lot. So order accordingly. We didnt get to try out desserts as we were so full, but we ordered one of the mocktails lava something, it was very good and soothing. For starters, we ordered crispy fried prawns which was delicious , hara bhara kabab was ok, bangude masala fry was phenomenal, anjal/surmai curry was very filling. We ordered neer dosa and appam to go along. Overall it was a great dinner.

The place doesn’t exist any more. There seems to be some renovation there so not sure it will be Mahesh Lunch Home after the renovation.

We had gone for my mother in laws birthday dinner a few weeks back. The place does not live up to the hype ( or was that hype sometime ago). I felt claustrophobic as the first floor where we were seated had very low ceilings and the bathroom condition is really questionable.About the food, there are much better places out there in the same category that serve what these people have to offer. In conclusion, a place that you can definitely cross of the list without missing out on anything.

Very good sea food. Some of the dishes may be extremely overpriced. Theres lots of variety of sea food in South Indian preparations. Ambience is good and staff is very quick and friendly. Its a good place for families , specially non vegetarians and seafood lovers.

A popular sea food restaurant in town. Location is great and easily accessible. If you love sea food, it is a place to visit. Service was attentive and fast. The food quality was excellent. Hygiene factors require immediate attention, too many house flyes disturbed otherwise good food and service. The place is not disabled and wheelchair friendly. Ambiance is okay.

THE seafood specialist in Bangalore from Mumbai. The fish was fresh and curries and starters really tasty. After eating American food for three weeks, it really tasted like manna from heaven today to eat authentic Indian food at Maheshs. Service is good and professional. RS. 2500.00 for three people without drinks. RS. 500.00 gift voucher for next visit !! Good move.Would love to see better quality hand towel at the restaurant !! Thanks.
