August, 2018, Under the governance of Vajubhai Vala : For the first time in the history of Karnataka, citizens were allowed to visit and explore the grandeur and architectural beauty of Raj Bhavan. It was opened to public for 15days. The idea is to make people soak in the fervor of independence day in the grand ambiance of Raj Bhavan and appreciate the history and heritage. We visited the place and it was an amazing experience. One must visit for the graceful moments. Govt. of Karnataka has to take much more initiative in near future for such events for heritage buildings.

The Raj Bhavan is not a building that many people get a chance to admire. However, if you’re in Bangalore over the next few days, this may be something you could do. Read on to find out more about how you can visit the Raj Bhavan. The Raj Bhavan is the official residence of the Karnataka governor. The building has a history of over 150 years. As an Independence Day gift, Governor Vajubhai Vala decided to open the doors of the Raj Bhavan to the public for a few days.

Magnificent. In one word - mind blowing. A truly luxurious 5 star facility bullet proof building. The Governors house is a state of the art bulletproof palace with better facilities than a 5 star hotel. There are 22 rooms in the palace and 19 rooms in Guest house. A separate room is reserved for PM Or President of India. Amazed by the flower beauty and decorations including fountains and antiques dated back to ancient India. Built in 1840 by the Britishers, it stands apart as one of the best building of Karnataka. Originally a single storeyed building, the Raj Bhavan was expanded by the addition of a first floor in 1967, built carefully to adhere to the architectural style of the original structure. The art collection comprises paintings of a variety of Indian schools of art, as well as some from the West. The residence is surrounded by beautiful gardens. The garden is fringed with century old pine and fir trees, and has an artificial waterfall.

The Raj Bhavan, formerly known during British India as the Bangalore Residency, the Mysore State Residency, or, simply, the Residency, is the official residence of the Governor of Karnataka. It is located in the capital city of Bangalore, Karnataka. During Mysore Kingdom, the building was home to the Resident of the British Agency that was in subsidiary alliance with the Kingdom of Mysore.A ballroom was constructed in 1874 when the King Edward VII, Prince of Wales, visited India. It was named Serapis Room after the ship which brought the Prince to Bombay. Many changes were made to the building during its existence in the British Raj.

The most beautiful Governors house of India. Very beautiful building and the finest architecture of the heritage and historical building. The sprawling campus with lush green trees and garden creates extraordinary ambiance for the visitor. The garden clock and glass house are also unique and very historical.

During Mysore Kingdom, the building was home to the Resident of the British Agency that was in subsidiary alliance with the Kingdom of Mysore. This palace was built by Sir Mark Cubbon between 1840 and 1842 when he was the Commissioner of Mysore territories of the British. After Cubbon left in 1861, the bungalow was put up for sale and purchased by the succeeding commissioner, Lewin Bentham Bowring, using government funds, and became the official residence of the Commissioner.

This is the Raj Bhavan or the place of stay of the Governor of Karnataka. The entry I think is restricted to work and specific visits as per work. This is an amazing and large space with the governor bungalow is in between the majestic gardens. There is an huge enclosed hall for functions held in side the Raj Bhavan.Like I said the entry is restricted.

Thanks for opening it to the public for 2 weeks in a year. Its a fabulous place with many 100+ year old massive trees, manicured gardens and a well maintained British era bungalow. However, despite the online booking site claiming to restrict entry to 30 people per slot, there were close to a 1000 people at the entrance and it took over an hour to get in (Ofcourse, there were a privileged few who sneaked in without queuing up). The other big letdown was that one couldnt take photos! This was ostensibly to manage the crowd (and time) but when asked, the policeman said that photos werent allowed on weekends!!!

One of the most beautiful and prominent place and building in the state.I was told by the staff at RajBhavan, that our PM and President discussed the entry of general public to the RB of every state. And they agreed that the public must be allowed to visit between 16th Aug to 31 Aug, 2018.And thus we also got a chance to visit this place.Unfortunately, photography was not allowed inside. In case if you get a chance, dont miss the opportunity to visit the same.It is once in a life time opportunity. In one sentence, the visit is just fantastic.
