We went to restaurant after doing a online research. We Ordered Signature Thats the KARIMEEN POLLICHA it was so oily, it shouldnt be like that because its Pollichath. Chicken was not so impressive. Meals was Ok. Serving on Banana Leaf will be done only for special meals not for normal meals. Staffs are Good and Polite yet Serving time can be improved.
Authentic Kerela style food with amazing ambiance. We tried out the Chicken Curry with parota which was really good. Sambaram (Spiced buttermilk) tastes good as well. The ambiance is extremely thoughtful and almost places you back in Kumarakom😀 Just looking at the interior you would not believe this place was located somewhere in HSR layout in Bangalore. You can park your vehicle in the nearby BDA complex so parking is sorted too. Overall highly recommended for really good Kerela like ambiance and taste.
Bad food. Bad quality. Bad taste.
Mini veg mealsA great place to treat you and your family to some scrumptious kerala style meals..They typically serve on a fresh banana leaf which fill your belly to bliss. It is one of the best in bengaluru with some green blended in,sambar taste good, rasam is nearly perfect, the curries are great,chutney/ pachadi to die for..
Mini sadhya was awesome. Karimeen pollichadhu was okay type
We had come here after a year or so on the occasion of Onam. The Sadhya was really yummy but I think the prices have spiked since the last time we came. The service and ambience is fantastic. You can come here to relish Authentic Kerala food.
Great food. Great ambiance! Really enjoyed the beef parrota there. My friend ate appam & kadla curry! He was also as happy as a vegetarian can be!
If you want to try some kera food. And pothirachi with a nostalgic ambiance. You have to try this
One of the best Kerala cuisine hotels in Bangalore...Great food, Good ambience and courteous service all adds up to a satisfying experience all together. Located opposite to the HSR BDA complex...
Yes. I have rated 4 star 5 month before. Now food are very pathetic. But survive seems to be good
Ever since we saw the making video of Dum Parota, we so wanted to try it out. Finally we ordered it few days back and what a treat it was. We got it delivered to home and the whole family enjoyed it. We ordered the Chicken Dum Parota. The parotas being soaked with the curry, just melted in the mouth. The chicken pieces are so juicy and the whole dish was with full of favours. An afternoon well spent at home with the entire family. Thanks to Kumarakom team for taking extra effort to deliver the food to our home.
Overpriced on Onam day but very good authentic Kerala food to try here
Kumarakom restaurant is located bang opposite to the hsr bda complex on the first floor of the building. There is no parking lot or valet parking, so park in bda or by one of the by lanes roadside. The ambience of the restaurant hasnt changed in all these years and its still good. The food quality though has really gone down the drains over the years. The kerala meals served here used to be really yummy and now its very bland. Considering the cost, they really ought to do better.
If you are looking for a budget friendly resturant with best Kerela food. This is the place. My go-to place when there is a craving for Kerela food.
Great for Onam sadhya . Loved the food. Great service and ambiance.
Super food and great ambience. Nice serving also
Ambience and arrangement are good. Sadya meal is just ok.
Its the best place to try Kerala dishes. Especially meat (not mutton)
Lovely lunch. We are getting addicted to the food there
Have been there couple of times, the biggest drawback is serving time. I had to wait for almost 40 minutes to get my meal served. Being a keralite i would rate their meal only 3/5 (be it fish or meal i never felt it is authentic). Service 2/5.
Nice cousines but little pricy
The restaurent has a nize ambience.. 💚🌼
Just opposite to Hsr BDAWonderful staffAuthentic Kerala styleSoup crab fish parrota egg curry tried and niceToilet is in 4th floor where in the restaurant is in 1st floorNo finger bowlPrice is on a higher sideWonderful proper local tasteLift availableAccepted all kinds of cardsNot a overcrowded placeOverall : Satisfactory
I have ordered a Kerala Chicken Fry through swiggy, I got a small box of chicken with full of wastage, there is not a single piece you can eat, it full of bones, They are making chicken fry using the waste pieces of chicken after using every good piece in dishes, the price itself is 210, which is super expensiveNever buy
What a nice place to enjoy kerala cuisine
We went there to taste kerla style food for the first time. We ordered few kerla dishes but honestly nothing was good. Maybe I tasted kerla food for the first time. The bad part was NO AC, not a single AC was working we all were feeling hot while eating there. Then I thought to order sweet lassi in the last but unfortunately It was not there. If you kerla food lover then you can give it a try.
True to its name, this place serves authentic Kerala cuisine food. Located opposite to HSR BDA Layout, the place is easily accessible. Parking maybe a problem though. We visited on a Sunday noon and ordered the Mini Sadhya. It consisted of boiled rice served with Rasam, Sambhar, Morru Curry along with three other accompaniments, papad, pickle and banana chips served on a banana leaf. Also served was two types of payasam. The staff are very courteous and friendly. We didnt have to wait long for our food and also saw orders were served relatively quickly for other tables. The prices are worth for the quality and quantity.Definitely a must visit place to try authentic Kerala cuisine.
Good food. Little expensive though
The food is awesome, and authentic. I had come here for vishu, and had an authentic Kerala style sadhya(meal). Kumarakom did not disappoint and Id recommend anyone to eat here even on normal days as the food on their regular menu is also good.
The service has gotten bad over the years. Serves all the dishes and curries but didnt serve rice. Sat there for good five minutes with food going cold while waiting on rice.Good Kerala food in the neighborhood. The restaurant is dimly lit. Can certainly do with bit more lighting. The Kerala porotta was soft as it should be.Chicken roast was too good. That and the curry combination with porotta was brilliant. Puttu was soft. Payasam of the day was a mix of 2 payasams which wasnt bad.The restaurant needs to turn on the air conditioning or needs better ventilation. The air outside is colder and nice than being inside the restaurant.Food ordered:Kerala porottaChicken RoastNadan Kozhi curryPuttuPayasam of the dayLime soda
This is a honest review on Kumarakom HSR Layout, Bangalore. The Food is good and no complaints on the taste, but the quantity and portion of food keeps reducing. Hence the restaurant should have a check on the same if they want to retain and grow sales.
The place is really good for some Kerala taste. If you would like to have some fish, meat in Kerala style, this is the right place.Ambience is really good. Well maintained, neat and clean interiors.Food - The quality of the food is impressive, tastes yummy. Try their Kerala porotta, meat, kumarakom special chicken curry.
Hidden surprise. Great ambience and service. Food was a bit bland to my taste buds but well presented and varied in selection.
Aapam is one of the exquisite dishes if south India. On few days they dont provide it.Locating the restaurant is not easy. The display of restaurant board is not explicitly visible.
Nice place to have Authentic Kerala Food in a decorated, luxury style ambience. The restaurant’s interiors r designed to resemble that of a naalukett... It is a bit dark, situated in the first floor. The food’s tasty. Had Porotta, Chicken Varattu arachad and Beef Fry. Chicken Varattu arachad was nice. Beef fry quantity was less while Porotta was fine. But not the best though. Lime soda was a let off as the soda had very lil gas.The pricing is reasonable, more to the expensive side though.Parking is a headache as the main road is a no parking zone.
We went today for Vishu restaurant is great nice they received us good but the taste is not there after the first order nobody came to the table and the sathya meal 450+GST we are not happy. Tq
Pretty good food. Decent service. Nice ambiance.
Amazing food and ambience. Meat fry is amazing . everything is amazing. Value for money is amazing especially for a Malayalee
Recently, tried their new earthen menu - the entire family enjoyed it thoroughly. In fact, we landed up ordering the same stuff the very next day for dinner. Would highly recommend their biriyani, kappa-meen & kizhi porotta. Surely worth a try !!!
Authentic south Kerala style cuisines. Cozy ambience. Interior has been designed in the theme of a houseboat. Some of the dishes are not worth for the money due to quality and over priced.Pros: party hall available.Kerala sadhya is worth for cost but available only during weekends.Cons: No car/two wheeler parking.
Third class.. raw cooked food .. and the person over the phone was only wasting time.. no solution.. third class fish curry...
Poir quality food and worst taste..
Recommended visiting for Sunday lunch to relish Kerala feast.
Food is average, doesnt have any close resemblance to authentic Kerala food. Ambience is good, it looks like traditional houses in Kerala. Service is pathetic.
This is the one in Coimbatore. The worst packaging ever, with one of the curry spilled all inside the plastic bag. After a painfully long conversation with Swiggy, a refund was initiated, minus the delivery fee, which apparently doesnt go to the driver. Go figure!Restaurant Owner/Manager, please show interest in your restaurant and customers. Thank you.
The restaurant is on the 1st floor in HSR Layout bang opposite the shopping complex that house another favourite, Adyar Ananda Bhawan... Kumarakom excels in traditional Kerala cuisine and we ordered quite a bit for 05 adults... We began with Anjal (Seer) Fry and Beef Coconut Fry as starters and followed them up with Kallappams , Kerala/ Malabar Parottas along with Beef Roast and Chicken Roast... We ended our sojourn with the Malabar Prawns Biryani. All in all it was a delicious and memorable dinner.
Very very average food. Service is very very poor.Had the sadya which was very average. The karimeen fry was tasty, but the fish was not cooked through.
We got a chance to taste the Dum Porotta of Kumarakom. Very unique cuisine. The humble Kerala porotta gelled well with egg curry, chicken fry and all time favorite beef masala all tucked in the traditional clay pot. Very tasty!!!!
Worst chicken biriyani ever had. Staff quality is very poor
If you’d like to have a basic Kerala meal or Malabar biriyani, I believe this not a bad place to visit. However as in Kerala; the taste, flavours and ingredients are used differently , there may be some curry that is not per your preference. They get curry meen from Kerala everyday so it is quite fresh. This restaurant is in the first floor and can use the elevator to reach there. I found this place to be slight dark and my grandparents were not very impressed. However there is ample parking in the opposite bda complex. Enjoy your meal.
Authentic Kerela restaurant with great tasting food.
Best kerala food in bangalore. Even better than vembanadu at The Paul
Loved the Kerala style food. Went to eat Kerala Parota and Beef roast. Awesome food. Really enjoyed the food. Onam sadya is also famous here. Service is also good and you find all Kerala famous dishes here. Ambience is also Kumarakom style. Really an awesome place for Kerala food style. Karimeen is also available here.My suggestion if you want to try Kerala style go for it
Its okay, nothing exceptional , i had a chicken biryani, can keep it as the last option ..
Service is very slow, they dont come immediately to take the order. To get a normal meal we have to wait for hours and it is unacceptable. Horrible service..
If you wish to have authentic keral food this is the place to go.
Good place for mallu food in Chennai
Taste is not like before , its so sad .I wont come back for sure.
Visited at around 10am. Very less options for a breakfast...just appam, puttu and nadan chicken curry
Good Kerala style food. Loved the food and quality
Good place to enjoy Kerala/Travancore cuisine.
Awesome food and worth the price. Had a mind fulfilling treat to stomach after a long time.
Hey its something new there in Kumarakom Restaurant,Yesterday we ordered their new signature dish, DUM PAROTTA Combination option. It was Super duper ( in malayalam we say adiploiyaa/polichuu... monae etc...) The food is served in traditional clay pot ( mannu chatti) Combination comes with 8 parotta, Chicken, Beef & Egg. In between each parotta layer, Egg, beef and chicken are kept and then it will be given a DUM....... Taste wise no more comments its Super...... Its really worth ........3 people can easily have a full stomach. What i came to know is that they have DUM Parotta without combination also... DUM Parota with Chicken option only, Beef Only, Egg only, Paneer Only.....
Wonderful Kerala cuisine. Must try Appam with beef curry.
I loved it 🥰🎉🥰🥰😍
Awesome people, great place. A great find as a restaurant. Must visit place even during this Covid times.
The food tastes really good. Value for money. Good service.
It is an amazing restaurant and beautiful ambiance ❤️ food is good and innovative. Helpful staff and prompt in service.
As the name suggests its very authentic Kerala cuisine and a must try in Bangalore. All the dishes tasted were too good..Especially there appam and prawns curry
Nice ambience with authentic taste of Kerala along with reasonable prices.
Parotta and putti is good.kumarakom curry was bit spicy.nice ambience.good place for family dining.
Appam was good, fish molee is good but could be better if it was not so thick,Upton thattu roast, prawn roast is good too.
Very nice place for Kerala style food, decently priced, cleanliness is also good, hospitality and quality and of food is great. Quantity is decent. Ambiance is also decent.
