My earliest memories of Sona Caterers go back to my childhood, when I used to visit ‘Sona’s Kodial’ with my father. Tucked away in the busy alleys of Malleshwaram was this homely eatery serving traditional south Canara cuisine. Sona Caterers is the go to place for our traditional dishes, for those times when you feel you need a much deserved break from cooking and for those times when you feel the need for comfort food. The best decision we made is to book Mr. Ganesh Nayak, his son Shravan Nayak and team for our wedding catering. From the day we called them to inform about our wedding till the day of our wedding, Mr Ganesh Nayak himself kept visiting us to coordinate with the decorators on what they will get from their side for the live counter, ensuring we are happy with the Menu we selected and happily accepted any changes we made along with his recommendations. We had full confidence that the event will be managed well by them.On the day of the reception and wedding, the live counters were arranged beautifully by Sona team, even though due to rituals the event started a bit late and all the guests rushed at once to the live counters, the team managed very well. On top of that the number of guests exceeded much being what we booked, still without the guests knowledge, they managed to prepare extra food quickly and serve each and everyone one equally. The guests were treated with warmth by Mr.Ganesh Nayak and his son, each and every guests were happy with the service provided by them and informed us in happiness.Every dish was damn delicious and out of the world. It was served hot to each and every guest. What was more special is the bride and groom were given special treatment and even though it was 12am in the night that the bride and groom went to have dinner, Mr Ganesh Nayak was present to make special arrangements of tables, a huge bowl of roses and water to wash hands and make the team serve hot food to the groom, bride and family. Despite this, he was available at the hall at 5am the next day for wedding.The service provided is way beyond expectations, and we are damn happy to chose them as our caterers. I had arranged Sona caterers for my wedding, their staffs are excellent, they managed end to end work, we dint have to worry about anything at all. 3 consecutive days different menu different locations. They managed so well with the left overs as well.Kadgi bhajo, dalithoy, kadagi randai, pineapple sasam, doodhpank was my favorite, it tasted heavenly, It matched the food that we had in Kashi mutt during chaturmas. Used Sona Caterers services for my daughters marriage. Food served was consistently varied and excellent over the 2 days functions which included breakfast (tiffin), lunch and buffet dinner for reception. The menu was a mix of north indian, south indian and chinese and the serving and services was also very good. The quality of the food, sweets box, tambulam and chaat was good. Sona had created a very good ambience in the dining hall for the reception by installing an artistic ice Ganesha idol made by them and further decorated it with cut fruit & vegetable decorative figures. The decoration was made on their own initiative by Sona Caterers. Both the food and the decor got a lot of appreciation from our guests. I would recommend Sona Caterers for large functions and social occasions.
