Great food and great service. Very few places offer traditional South Indian food in banana leaves and the way they keep asking and serving reminds marriage functions of the past. Loved the unlimited meals and the responsive staff. Even the manager came to keep checking on what we need. Keep up the good work.
Best south indian filter coffee in the city. If I find a better coffe will comeback to edit this post. Very nice place. Medhu vada was good, chutnies and sambar was also good. Spacious, friendly clean place. Open kitchen, wide variety of south indian items. Mixture from the counter was very good. Ribbon pakoda was just ok, a little more spicy should be better. Tried Badusha from their sweets, did not like it, too oily/ghee. Makes it very heavy and suppress the taste.
1st things first amazing food.... Good service and very minimal food waste, water waste and energy saving model... (food served in banana leaf, no bowls/plates to clean + sides served based on your required quantities + high/open ceiling for ample amount of light and air)...Brilliant... 👍👌
I tried filter coffee for the first time in kalyan nagar and I must say.. coffee is authentic!I also ordered podi, medu vada which was delicious. Also at the end,I tried mirchi bhajji - though it was hot, I think it could have been better in taste.I gave one less star because medu vada could have been served hot. Also ths price range is bit higher.I enjoyed the complete experience! Will definitely try more dishes.
I have never seen such a restaurant in Bangalore before. Unlimited meal, quality ingredients, disciplined staffs, cleanliness, tasty. If you are looking for a restaurant in the neighborhood, the best is The Filter Coffee.Try it, you will never regret it.
Good taste. But very expensive. Quantity can be improvised.Hygeine is maintained. They have both self service and table service. Unlimited meals cant be shared ( unless its a kid below 5 years ). I appreciate water kept in glass on every table..Note to management : water was dripping inside when it rained.
Ample things to choose from. We loved the samber served in leaf bowl and banana leaf. Ghee Dosa was nice but the mini idli with sambar were best we had in Bangalore till date. Will visit this breakfast place to try other things from menu. The waiter miss took our cutting chai order for a coffee and quickly changed it once we pointed.Looked clean overall. Slightly over priced than other south indian breakfast places we visited. There is a hazelnut coffee in the menu as well.
Visited this place numerous times, the only drawback is that its mostly packed with people and you need to be on the queue to get in. Also, you need to order and pay ahead before you get in the place.Definitely, their Dosa, idlis, puri, etc taste authentic and amazing including their coffee and tea. Honestly, Im not an idli person but the only idli I ate is in this place cause I love the fact that its so soft and not sour. Their chutney is even exciting. Definitely, dont forget to try their Kesari bath.I will definitely be back!
Excellent south Indian food, served on Banana Leaf and dona.Sambhar us awesome. Not too spicy.Parking: better park on opposite side perpendicular road and walk to this place. On weekends, there may be bit rush, but it worth.
Good quality tasty breakfast.Better than 95% of the vegetarian restaurants in the neighborhood. The quantity & taste justifies the price.Taste: Excellent, good quality ingredients makes it close to home made breakfast.Service: Top notch for a day vegetarian restaurant. Fast and Friendly.Cleanliness: Very clean, even the wash basin area is kept clean. Follows all COVID protocols.
Please have someone at the counter who at a minimum understands orders placed in Kannada. You can’t expect older folks to speak English / Hindi to place orders. The person taking the order made absolutely no effort to even understand what was being asked and kept ignoring the senior folks until I stepped in and translated their order for them. They were nearly in tears as they were visiting the hospital next door for their son who was admitted due to an accident. Some empathy and respect goes a long way.
Very good and tasty food. With minimum use of oil, the food was light. Even after eating a full meals, it was very light. Ambience was good.
The food is good. We need to bill before placing the order. This is inconvenient, especially if you need to order anything after the initial order. So you need to keep going to the billing counter while eating.
Lovely place with dine-in and take-away available. Excellent Pongal! All food is prepared with aromatic ghee and tastes amazing. Their care for hygiene is also appreciable! Must go place for wholesome good food that fills your tummy and leaves you licking your fingers😊.Quick tip: The bill can be a little heavy on your wallet! With great food comes bigger looking numbers.
Great place for breakfast and Sunday lunch! You can go with family and feast on amazing south india food. Staff is friendly and courteous. Go early there as it gets crowded on weekends.
Amazing place for great coffee and South Indian dishes - mainly dosas are awesome - it’s a challenge to get seating though - so plan accordingly - especially weekends can get very crowded - also you’ve to pre- buy what you need
Lovely spot for some yummy south Indian fare.We have to choose and pay for the order before we get into the restaurant.Once inside, the seating is nice with easy access to hot food.Service is impeccable during normal rush hours.Food - completely home style and the sambar leaves you with a comforting feeling.Kothu parota was quite delicious as well and it was the first time we had tried veg kothu and we were not disappointed!Last but definitely not the least, the coffee was perfect!
Amazing food. Tried Dosa, pongal, Kesari, nothing to complain, but I would recommend everyone to try the food from here, its so authentic and tasty.
They do absolute justice to their name. The filter coffee cannot be missed here. The process of ordering is easy and pretty much contactlessWhen you enter the place, you’ll find the counter right outside with the menu and the prices attached on the wall for you to select fromYou place your orderPay for itGive the coupon/bill to the waiter insideHave a seatAnd your food will be given to you in no timePlease do try their original filter coffee. You’ll definitely get a #foodgasm
Hygienic and tasty South Indian food. Dont miss Appam in the evening and Ven pongal in the morning
Food was good, but perhaps the combinations couldve been worked out better..There was cabbage palya n a dry arbi fry to go with the puris..a better accompaniment with the puri wouldve been much appreciated..also there was no raita to go with the pulao.
Pros. The place is clean and hygiene.Food is fresh.Sambar is good.Filter coffee is great.Customer service is good.Cons.The food is very pricey, not worth it.Strange plain Vada with Sambar is Rs50 but Sambar Vada is Rs.78 for the dipped version. The taste is not that great, especially chutneys lacks salt. The Rava dosa is too small, never seen like this.Need to buy tokens first before entering the place, which kills the appetite if you need to buy more again.Take out containers are expensive
If you would love to taste an authentic Tamil Nadu cuisine then this is the place for you. We had Pongal, Poori, Vada, Kesaribath and Coffee. I have to tell you that the Pongal was exactly like the way my mother in law prepares. Very hygienic.Though you find the servers communicating in hindi and English mostly, the cooks seem to be from TN. Parcels are available.Fair is fare. They accept cash, card and online payments. My friend said that before covid they used to serve and based what we had, they used to charge. Now, you will have to pay first and then have.
Dear Filter Coffee team, We tasted Idli & Venn Pongal from your restaurant today and it was one of best, tummy-full & tasty foods we ever had. Combining Idlis/Venn Pongal with the red chilli chutney, coconut chutney and lip smacking delicious sambar, it was a blissful experience. Our hearty thanks to the Chef & Team Filter Coffee for serving us these wonderful dishes. We became fan of your Idlis & Sambar 😇 Next time more sambar, please 😋
Very good place to have break fast and we can see live dosa counters. They have amazing coconut chutney. Price is little premium but its worth paying the price for the tasty food.
Awesome tamilnadu style taste and variety.. great place with family for a weekend dinner.. nice ambiance..Service has gone down and the price has increased..
Excellent vegetarian meals. Everything laid on the banana leaf was amazingly yummy. Pocket friendly too. Must visit place if ur looking for a tasty and filling lunch.
They serve banana leaf based meals. The lunch here costs Rs. 315 with tax.-1 star for the staff not speaking in any kind of South Indian languages for a restaurant called filter coffee!Taste is generally good however the service is a little too fast.
Amazing idlis... Most comforting breakfast spot in the area. Ive had the best experience here in the entire Bangalore. Taste and service is superb.
Fresh+tasty food and quick service. Friendly and efficient staff. Our regular favourite
Visited this for the first time, after hearing many great reviews. Simple, tasty, wow food. No fuss, efficient service. And Smita, the owner was personally greeting the diners, adding that personal touch, that makes everyone feel at home. Will be back soon.. Looks like this will become a habit.
Had the full meals for lunch, Yummy food! Was informed the Limited meals was not available. Clean, simple and easy ambience with innovative water mist cooling. Was charged 5.5% Service Charge over my bill. I believe that the courts have held it to be illegal.Be early by 1 pm or you have to wait for seating. Good vegetarian only food.
Delicious food. Lot of waiting time to get inside and eat because of the crowd.
The green moongdaal dosa and ginger tea is what I go here for
Excellent filter coffee. Cheap and quick too. Easy 5 stars. 100% filter coffee is highly recommended.Pandemic note: If only they had better handling of orders during this pandemic. Id have really liked them to have a way of having the customer never have to enter the building to get coffee.
Great food joint - very good & tasty food and a hospitable host (owner) adds up to the flavour. A must visit place for breakfast! Evenly priced.
Food is very hygienic and quantity is good with good taste .... However I feel its bit expensive though. Good to try once. Cashier should be trained on customer service skills, They have a very negative approach over customer paying bomb to eat there food so you better treat the customers right.Note just the cashiers have a very bad attitude not the servers . Good luck in training your employees in the front. Cheers
Cost is too high. For one south indian meals, have to pay 315 Rs. The taste is not that much good. The amount what they are charging, its not worthy.
Great place for breakfast. Ive been here multiple times. Love their coconut chutney.
Very good. Price is on little Higher side
Am a regular visitor and visit every weekend either on Sat or Sunday.Ambience is 10 on 10.It has an open kitchen and very hygienic and staff is very very humble. They even recognise me and try to find a place for me 😝 as it is often crowded.Items are worth trying.I love Paniyaram and kutthu paratha is a must try.Must Visit place.Best part is roads are broad and you have lot of space to park your vehicles and even stand outside and sip on a chai or coffee ki chuski while you are having a memorable conversation with your friends and beloved ones. The Vada is very crispy and the filter coffee at THE FILTER COFFEE is a again a must try as it completes your meal 😄Forgot to mention that they serve their food on Banana leaves and please don’t forget their amazing meals during the lunch time ☺️
Excellent service nd delicious food 😋👌
One of the favorite place. Visit this place if you want to have tasty south Indian food and drink best coffee.
This place does not even deserve one star. I had a pathetic experience here. The veg meals on weekend cost 315 rupees with tax. It is overpriced as per the quality and service. The most irritating part was one lady who was supervising and was incessantly shouting at the top of her voice. Even the service was very sloppy and we had to wait for all the components of the meal to be served. Go to Filter coffee at your own risk.
Visited on a saturday morning 11.00 AM. It was crowded. Food was fantastic. Did not like the prepaid service though.
Things that strike you immediately are, its a clean, and hygienic place with spacious seating, and I like the table counter type concept that they have built. The food is tasty, has a great variety, and is a miniaturised version of a South Indian wedding feast. Im only guessing this place would be crowded on a weekday. I was in here on a Saturday and did enjoy the experience and had a sumptuous afternoon meal and finished it off with a filter coffee.
One of my favourites and one of the best in Bangalore..try their meals during weekends.... amazing!!!
Very clean, highly recommended. HYGIENIC AND Very good service with fantastic quality food.
One of my fav breakfast places in the area. I go back for their coconut chutney. 😛
Quite the concept!! An open coffee bar for almost drive in service. Although located a little far from the city, reaching it makes for a good drive. There is a decent amount of parking outside but be prepared to walk a little bit before getting there. You can be seated indoors or order outside, Ive experience of the latter only. Payment is quick and orders are accepted very quickly. The main star is, of course, the coffee, its well made and you can get it sugarfree should you like. The food too is quite tasty and best eaten hot. Their chutneys are novel and go very well with all preparations.
Food taste is quite average. Masala uttapam was even tasteless, thin and excess oily. Idli was starchy. Coffee was bitter than usual. Sambhar had average taste and was not hot.The items are comparatively over priced. Also, there is a 5.5% service charge. The staff service is good.
Wonderful roast and thin dosas with unlimited servings of 2 types of chutney and sambhar.. All items are delicious and reasonably priced..
Authentic food in great ambiance. Fast, efficient service and having the owner herself taking care of you is inspiring and touching . Thanks for a great breakfast 😊
Good neat and clean, typical tamilnadu food taste. Good, but found one special sambar variety missing. ( VATTA KOZHAMBU) We missed it. Its one of the main dish, which should be served along with rice every day. When I had come on Saturday VATTA KOZHAMBU was served.
An awesome breakfast place.Try Podi Onion Dosai, with a vada and Hazlenut filter coffee.
Nice Food and ambience, one should try this place and food is super tasty. In this pandemic they are well maintained and very hygienic place.
Without any doubt I would recommend filter coffee restaurant. They are the best in town. Am personally a nonveg food lover but this time I gave myself a chance to explore veg food. They are good at- Ambience : open kitchen concept with excellent interiors- crowd management : They do a proper token system to manage crowd.you get a waiting area where you can order tea or coffee while waiting.- Service - well behaved waiters who are always for service all the time.
So just ordered 2 coffee, Original filter coffee for Rs32 and hazelnut filter coffee for Rs62 about 120ml each. Also ordered for onion pakora and asked for parcel. When the order came, the pakoras were cold, when I told the guy at the delivery place,he stated no, its normal. Again, I reiterated and told him, its cold, told the guy at the cash counter, he said for hot pakoras you have to wait for 25 mins.I told the guy, you are supposed to let your customer know that pakoras will be cold, would you be o.k with a cold dosa, why should I accept cold pakoras. I told him, he can keep my money and left without taking the pakoras parcel. He dint care, neither apologized and gave 2 hoots about what happened. The coffees in taste were sub-par, nothing to write home about. One place, I wouldnt care of visiting ever again.
We had just coffee. And it costs around 40Rs per cup (little costly for me). Quantity is good and ya coffee tastes good here.
Had a delicious Paper masala ghee dosa served on banana leaf with tasty sambar and coconut chutney. Kitchen visible to visitors is so spick and span. Looks and feels hygienic. Coffee is a bit expensive though.
Great food at a very economical price point. Also very fast service.
Good place for all the breakfast options but getting seat you need to wait a while.
Location- **** well placed easily reachable and Street parkingMenu -**** nice choice of excellent and authentic South India food. Great choice of itemsTaste-**** loved the taste and the authenticity of foodService-**** fast moving crowed. From the time you place an order to when you bill us really quick. This means that you will find seating really fast as well$$$$- This is the best part, they are providing great food at reasonable price.Overall, if you like Tamil Nadu food, do not miss this place
Not your rustic south Indian place but still has superb food and service. Best Vada Ive ever had and also some of the best chutney and sambar ever served in any restaurant. Coconut chutney was creamy and delicious. Onion masala dosa and puri were ok. Hazelnut coffee was pretty good. Definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a superb South Indian breakfast experience.
Authentic South indian food tamilnadu style my parents love their food and I love their pongal and vada so highly recommend this place if you want tamilnadu style veg food
The Filter Coffee is very good south indian restarant. There Masala Dosa, Upama, Medu Wada Sambar, Keshari Bhat ( Shira), Idaly Sambar - Chattani are very popular items. Seating arangment is comfortable. Filter Coffee is satisfing everyone.
I dont see how this place still gets rave reviews. What started out as a small, authentic Tamilian idli/dosa joint on CMR road has now turned into some kind of worse-than-mediocre cash cow. They arent bothered about quality anymore. Sambar and chutney are usually half spoilt, idli dosa batter is below par. Not even close to the good food they served once upon a time.Dine-in experience is horrible. You may have to wait a long time for both your seat and your food as Swiggy/Zomato deliveries are blatantly prioritised by the management. This is a place thats merely resting on past laurels, and is now catering to people who arent bothered about overpaying for worse than average food. It is cliché, but definitely applies in this case - jab paisa aata hai, swaad chale jaata hai.
Great place and food. TFC never disappoints us. Staff from Billing to Service is ever smiling and supportive.
Good food, tad expensive... Nice service, gives u experience of a canteen or a mess rather than restaurant.. has a open noisy kitchen. Go for crispy dosa and a new eating experience.
Excellent food home like taste, good quantity & quality... more than the food employee by name MR. Madhavan was so kind so helpful nice person to understand the customerValue for money would rate 100/100👍
Very clean place. Taste is just too good. Quality well maintained. Courtesy par excellence. Rava Kesari was out of the world.
Very rare to find such gems in Bengaluru. Great place for si breakfast. Limited menu but consistent taste and well managed
Amazing place for the south indian food in kamanahalli. Service is next level awesome. The staff is very courteous and they help you to the core by asking you if you need anything while having food. Service is very fast. They serve food on banana leaf which is an amazing thing. Food is very very delicious.
This is place for authentic South Induan especially Tamil cuisine. Very hygienic and well located and reasonably priced
