I have been a fan of this place since I visited Kolkata. I was very happy to see this place while roaming in Banglore. I love Bengali sweets very crazily and KC Das is one of my favourites when it comes to authentic Bengali sweets. Here I ate rasgullas, Gulab Jamunn, ras malai, malai sandwich which was all amazing.

If you are walking around M.G road or Church Street, its good to visit this shop. K.C das is well known, but I wanted to check it out and I am happy with this visit. The outlet which is in the church street and is diagonally opposite to the Hard Rock cafe, is a good shop. They have good variety of sweets and if you have to gift to your loved ones, the quality is good. Everything that I saw seemed very fresh. There are a few tables as well, incase you want to sit and have some of it. I also saw coffee being served :) The outlet was clean and tidy. Well kept and maintained.

2 stars is for brand name and nothing else. I tasted the Rasgulla here - good not great, also tried the badam halwa - decent . The place is not clean, post Covid you wouldnt want to sit here . But for all the hype , I personally wouldnt recommend going here..there are many other sweet shops in Bangalore which serve a variety of tasty sweets..so if youre just going by the brand name ..not worth it. I am not sure about all Bengali sweets, but the general ones not worth it

Morning breakfast- luchi torkari(puri sabji), a Bengali Breakfast is a must try and is my favourite breakfast here. Sweets are also good here. Among sweets i would say, you should try Malpuwa, its really good. You will also get good Rasmalai, langcha, etc. Only cash and card is accepted, no online payment accepted here. Hygiene is well maintained, no need to worry.

K C Das, introduced me 42 years ago to Rasagolla, Rasamallai, and the range of sweets made of milk solids. I have been visiting this restaurant for poori and baby potato gravy, Hot samosas and freshly brewed tea. It is sad they have stopped preparing fresh tea - they have vending machines of a poor quality now. While most restaurants serve poori and sagu - the lingering taste of baby potatoes will last a long time..

I have been a fan of this place since childhood, as I remember my dad bringing Rosogollas in Matka or clay pot. Variety of mouthwatering sweets and savouries. I enjoyed the samosa/ singada and the paneer cutlet. The staff here respond well to the customers. Hygienic conditions and great display of the available desserts and namkeen.

Not good .Clean place made like fish market , You can see boxes and sweets kept on table and chair where people should have lunch. What kind of management is responsible for this. The wash basin has this weird black stain which is cleaned by the restaurant.Iam shocked that in place like church Street they do this.

The staff takes time to clear the table. You need to remind them, when you stand there carrying your dish near the table, as it is yet to be cleaned for you to occupy. In case the chair is soiled by the previous occupant, the staff just doesnt clean it despite request. Hope management can prevail upon their staff in this regard.

Its bengali sweet shop, sweet teste is very good,Hygiene and clean, price is nominal,The Sweet Renaissance :It was the best of times for Bengal in the second half of the nineteenth century, and the height of the golden age of Bengal’s resurgence. From fine arts to commerce, from culture to industry, from literature to science, in all things there was a glorious flowering of exuberant excellence. The spirit of this era touched the world of confectionery too. In the 1860s, the man who chose this area to engage his genius was Nobin Chandra Das (1845-1925).It was a humble beginning. In a tiny, obscure corner of Bagbazar in North Kolkata, Nobin Chandra set up a sweet shop in 1866, but the last thing he wanted was to run a mere sales counter. The passion to create something of his very own haunted him. His ambition was to create a completely original sweet, that would bring new excitement to the Bengali palate. There was in him an intense desire to create a sweetmeat that was never there before... the ultimate delicacy. He toiled for months, armed with imagination, skill and tenacity, and sometime in the year 1868, his labours paid off. He made small balls of casein (cottage cheese) and boiled them in hot sugar syrup. The result was a succulent, spongy sweet with a unique, distinctive taste. Nobin Das christened it the “Rossogolla” and a legend was born.

A landmark shop on the corner of St. Marks road and church Street. Always busy. Has a few tables for customers to dine in. A good reminder of KC Das in Calcutta for those familiar with the city. The Covid19 messages are quite boldly written for those entering. Although I didnt have my temperature checked or given hand sanitizer when I entered. The store only accepts cash or card which is inconvenient if you arent carrying these options. The range of sweets are large while savories are limited. Popular for rasogollas and Rasa malais.
