Ive been to all the restaurants in Shangri La and I liked the food, but shang palace was really really bad. I ordered 3 starters, 2 Chicken and one prawn. and they all lacked any depth or flavour. The Chongqing chilly chicken was way too dry and lacked any flavour and was too salty. The fried rice, Noodles and gravy wasnt tasty it was just flat. The manchow soup was good.But this is not the experience I expect from a Chinese restaurant. I am really disappointed because this was a treat for my family and it was really embarrassing.

Visited this place today with my wife. They provided:-Quick service- Fresh food- good taste.Only sad part was the Chinese pepper corn as it has a very strong after taste.

I havent ever been so disappointed from a fine dining restaurant in the past. I had visited this place for the valentines day celebration and they had a set menu with a glass of champagne for 2 people.We had particularly asked for a good table but we were seated in the open area which was not that good. The set menu looked interesting but almost all the dishes were disappointing!The noodles and fried rice were mediocre and werent even served hot. The waiter served all the starters at once which filled the entire table. The only dishes I liked were the spring rolls and the raspberry compote chocolate dessert

Chinese restaurant. I felt the roaster chicken is nice. Some of the set menu only available from Monday to Friday but still appear in the menu and also some of the dishes is not available but still showing in their digital menu. The price slightly higher due to the restaurant located in Shangri-la Hotel bangalore. The location is very near the bangalore Palace so you may try it if you plan to visit bangalore Palace.

Entered the hotel only to be asked by the chief of security ‘are you sure you are going to eat?’ Whatever that meant, it was subtly offensive.Had lunch at Shang Palace where the waiter sighed at us for taking time to decide our order. The food wasn’t great. We left our meal halfway after being treated so poorly from the very beginning.I am a member of the Golden Circle and it’s surprising to see a service of this sort from a 5 star hotel.

Probably the only place in Bangalore that serves truly authentic Chinese cuisine in Bangalore (to my knowledge).Its authenticity is supported by the fact that its patrons are primarily Chinese people as opposed to Indians, and the cuisine is vastly different from typical Indo-Chinese fare, so those visiting Shang Palace and expecting your typical Indianised Chinese food, will be quite taken aback.I found the food to be quite flavoursome, despite it being a lot more subtle than Indo-Chinese.I loved the mushroom buns, the onion pancake and the vegetable fried rice.Having a bit of a spicy tooth, I took quite a liking to the complimentary chilly paste they served alongside the kimchi and mixed it into pretty much every dish.The menu is completely digitised and explains the dishes in refreshing detail, which I found to be quite helpful.All in all, Shang Palace wasn’t just a restaurant to me, but also an experience, where I was able to sample real Chinese food for the first time and I found it to my liking.The price may hinder a lot of potential patrons, but it’s to be expected since it’s located in Shangrila Hotel.I highly recommend it for those that are really eager to taste the closest thing you’ll get to real Chinese food in Bangalore.

Everything was made from scratch and obviously took a bit of time, but served hot and fresh with a yummy taste.I would highly recommend Shang Palace to anybody who likes to try a bit of chinese for a change. Shang Palace has great food with ample variety to choose and to suit any palette, besides also has great customer service which will impress all patrons. Quality is not compromised and well worth a visit!

Another option under the umbrella of Shangri-La hotel which raised the bar too high for us as we had amazing experiences at their other restaurants. We choose this on the lovely valentine day as I was quite confident of it. As expected it had an awesome ambience which compliments its class and branding. We pre-booked the place and requested for a nice table but dont know why we were given the table outside as we found the inside sitting way better. Infact the surprising thing was the fact that we were never asked for our preference. We opted for the set menu which I guess they had especially on this day. Although the spread of the menu was huge and filling but to be frank nothing was too striking to meet our high expectations. Most of the stuff were too oily which was lil surprising. Few items specifically didnt impress us at all were the corn and asparagus soup where we couldnt taste asparagus at all, fried rice which was too bland, kimchi salad which wasnt fresh n the fruit salad which was simple cut fruits which we see in a mediocre restaurant as neither it was presented nicely nor the choice of fruits were good. Lastly, another damp on our experience was the service. The guy appeared to be naive and was not able to follow us, also we were struggling to comprehend him. Overall a decent place but not something great!!!
