Place looks really cute. It has outdoor seating. We went around 7PM and the rain had just stopped. So loved the ambiance.Coming to food ordered fried rice and spring roll. Rice wasn’t cooked completely and spring roll was really cold. But I like their desserts.Ratings are only for the place and the desserts.Food 👎🏻

Great place with outdoor seating and good food. There is a lot of space to sit and they have a lot of items on the menu. Its self service and you can choose exactly what you want, toppings, sauce, base etc with noodles and rice. Good starter options too.

One of the best open roof cafes and the taste was awesome. The service is very slow, had to wait almost an hour.

Really nice place for a group of people, the menu is customisable and offers combinations ranging from cottage cheese to prawns. Would definitely recommend if you were looking for a affordable meal on church street.

Mandarin box is targeted towards customers looking for a quick oriental meal out of a box. The impression you get is similar to a Chinese hawker van, but more hygienic and with outdoor seating and nice music playing in the background.We had a quick lunch, American chopsuey with chicken, rice box with blackbean sauce, chicken and shitake mushrooms, and a starter of chilli chicken.The food is not restaurant standard, but that was not our expectation either. Portions are medium sized, and just about enough for one person, so sharing not really possible unless you order multiple dishes. The outlet does not provide plates and you are expected to eat straight from the box.Food seemed hygenically prepared, decent taste, nothing to write home about, but met the purpose of a quick bite.Ambience had a young vibe with lots of students coming and ordering. I think they and office goers would be the target audience.Enjoyed the meal !!

Its a good self serve place to hangout with friends but crowded AF on weekends . Almost had to fight for the place we were waiting to occupy . Food was good quantity and nicish taste . Serves both veg and nonveg . By the time we reached ie is 8pm FYI they were out of momos,veg wonton and spring roll had same filling . And noodles were yum , sezwan rice were salt less and spicy . Plus point is its in the open so the breeze will you eat is nice 👌 one time try place .

Amazing Chinese authentic food. I love the idea of serving food in paper containers. So its left upto you if you want to have it there or carry your meal.By the way the ambience is great. Lovely place to hangout with your friends.

Awesome ambience with tasty food

Well, my family and I went for a stroll along church street and decided not to go to our regular haunts and try a new place. Heard great music and a place with decent lighting, and ended up in Mandarin Box. All right, so we had to choose our combination for the meal, but so what - greater choices right? We ended up with 2 boxes of noodles, a box of momos and 2 soups.This was a disaster of epic proportions. You have to understand how terrible the food would have to be, for a couple of hungry people to want to leave the food. The sweet corn soup tasted like sugar corn syrup (which it most probably was). The noodles seem to have been cooked in a cement mixer at high speed and were almost non discernable. The momos were dry (I have NO clue how that can happen) and to top it off they charge 15 bucks for a bottle of water thats for 8 rupees - which is against the law, since this is a packaged product - that is being sold AS-IS.Anyway, Ive written hundreds of reviews for restaurants all across India, but I just didnt have the patience to water down this review. In summary - Avoid this place and dont get drawn in with the music or lights...

Its a nice ambience but expected better service for the amount. The noodle boxes arent available right now so they serve everything in plastic boxes.You can customise your orders for noodles and rice but otherwise its a regular Chinese restaurant.

Lovely open space in the middle of the most happening church street, well the food is not that great but staff is good behaved, patient and friendly.Place can be more hygienic and can add some more in the menu.

A go to place for budget friendly tasty food with outdoor decor and seating. You get to choose and avoid toppings and make it according to your taste. They provide you a menu card for making your choices, toppings and sauces you need along with a pencil to mark so that you need not keep saying it aloud to the waiters. Again that saves you from wrong pronounciations and embarrassments.

Pay for noodles and obviously you cant eat it plain so you need to add on veg or non veg for which you pay the same it would cost you for a whole hakka noodles outside then hey you need sauce so you pay for sauce then you pay another 40 bucks for garlic or oninon. Yeah you need to make money as a business but there should be a limit to how much you can scam your customers. Never going there again. Id rather just go to Mainland China next to it.

Fantastic little box for oriental food. Great concept of building your own plate by selecting everything right from the base to the sauce and the add-on toppings. You cant go wrong if youre making your own box! Reasonably priced, actually, quite well priced Id say. The outdoor seating gives it a good ambiance and with only a small box playing music, it makes for a great dining experience. Plus points for actually having chopsticks available.

Great ambience. The food is average in my opinion. Recommend Chicken drumsticks for the non-vegetarians. Their vegetarian food is less than ideal. So are the fried wantons (non-veg). Meal (noodles) sauces are too sweet. The design of the seating area and the kitchen are innovative and tasteful. Always a good idea to eat outdoors in the evenings in Bangalore.

Love the idea of getting Chinese food in a box. Reminds me of Chinese take away joints in the US. Great that these very filling meals can be customized as well. The quality of the product used is good.Just wish they had some protection from the rains though.Overall, a great place for food. I will definitely return soon.

Its a nice place to eat if you know what you are doing or know what you like as it is a make-your-own-meal kind of joint. All my friends have had bad experiences with the food here because they didnt know what ingredients go well with what they want. I for one loved the food here, especially the Oyster sauce dressing (although it can be a tad bit salty sometimes). So yeah, thats like a word of warning. Go here only if you are able to mix and match ingredients well.Other than that, the space is nice and open with a street level view of Church Street. However, since its an open space, it can be a bad idea to visit this place during rains as the indoor seats are very limited.My previous visit, I had a problem with the amount of time they took to make the food but that was rectified in my later visits. However, they still do take a significant amount of time for the food to be made, so avoid the place if you are on a schedule.In short, go here if you know what you want or like and have some time to spare.

Prime location with good food. Food is pretty good and the price is also reasonable. A good place to hang out with your friends and have a chat while gulping some tasty mandarin food.

Good ambience. But thats all I can vouch for. Terrible service and sub-standard food quality. They forgot to serve the noodles along with the gravy of American chopsuey and when asked for they said why we hadnt raised the concern before instead of them paying attention to it. Wouldnt suggest this place.

The ambience says it all! Outdoor seating with good lighting. Located on church street, it has easy accessibility towards metro and bus stops, and a wide range of shopping options in brigade Road. Also with Rex theatre nearby, its a complete package in brigade Road. The food is decent, different and exotic. You get flat noodles here, with a various sausage options.

The beef dishes here are just average... Other than the the ambience is excellent and the staff is also friendly. The crowd coming here is also decent.

I was taking a stroll along Church street and came across this place .A very unique concept of of open Garden dining cooked right next to you in a container.no wonder this place is called a box.Truly enjoyed their chicken spring rolls, will surely come there again, would be a nice place to hangout during day time with some friends.
