This place is one of the basic reasons why I came to adore Lord Krishna, more like a friend. Gone are the days, back in my primary school and this I am telling about 15-17 years ago I had participated in so many drawing competitions, Bhagavadgita sloka chanting competitions, etc most of my extra curricular file is filled up with ISCKON certificates. After darshana back then till now, they give donne (dried leaf bowl) prasada which tastes delicious and very hot. So much has changed yet so little. It seemed to be that more youngsters were doing darshan the day I went, which felt reassuring. The vibes in the main temple with all the bhajane they keep doing is the only constant. My friend visited here first time since her childhood and she was in awe too. Radha Krishna Hari Om.

ISKCON is located in the Rajaji Nagar in Bangalore, and a venture of the International Society of Krishna Consciousness, ISKCON Temple in Bangalore is a shrine to Lord Krishna. This splendid architecture was first erected by Sri Madhu Pandit Das and inaugurated in the year 1997 by the then President of India, Shankar Dayal Sharma. It houses a number of prayer halls, dedicated to Sri Sri Radha Krishnachandra, Sri Sri Krishna Balarama, Sri Sri Nitai Gauranga, Sri Srinivasa Govinda and Sri Prahlada Narasimha.Apart from being a shrine to the Lord, ISKCON Bangalore is also a cultural hubbub of multiple dimensions. It has a lecture hall of its own, which holds daily lectures delivered by devotees on the Srimad Bhagavatam. It also has an amphitheatre, in which a number of events are held, such as cultural fests, dance and music programmes, educational conferences and so on.The ISKCON Temple in Bangalore also conducts a number of festivals across the year, inviting pilgrims and devotees to it in all seasons. Rama Navami, Akshaya Tritiya, Sri Sri Krishna Balarama Rath Yatra are only a few of them.Being located on top of a hill that is far removed from any source of drinking groundwater, the temple provides drinking water to its visitors from tankers transported all the way from the ground area.It is also well guarded by well-trained security personnel, who monitor the area all the time. The temple also has a gift shop of its own, known as Matchless Gifts, selling aromatic incense and other devotional products. These items are manufactured from natural products, and any profit gained is donated to charitable organizations.HARHE RAMA HARHE KRISHNAKRISHNA KRISHNA HARHE HARHE...

ISKCON TEMPLE BANGALORE:ISKCON Bangalore is a charitable society with the objective of propagating Krishna Consciousness all over the world, as explained by Srila Prabhupada, whose teachings are based on Bhagavad-gita and Srimad Bhagavatam. The society was registered in the year 1978 under the Karnataka Societies Registration Act, 1960. The objectivess of the society are derived from the Seven Purposes of ISKCON as stated by Srila Prabhupada. In 1987, the society was operating from a rented house in Bangalore. In the year 1987, the leaders of the society applied to Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) for allotment of land to construct a grand temple and cultural complex. The land was allotted on August 3, 1988 – a seven-acre hillock, which was nothing but a huge piece of monolithic rock that could not be converted into sites. The BDA described it as “karaab land” (waste land). A temporary shed was constructed to set up a make-shift temple and the Deities of Sri Sri Krishna Balarama moved to this shed on the appearance day of Lord Balarama (September 1988).Sri Madhu Pandit Dasa, the President of the ISKCON Bangalore Society, is a qualified civil engineer from IIT (Mumbai) and applied his knowledge to conceive a wonderful temple for Krishna with the help of Sri Jagat Chandra Dasa (a devotee who was also an architect and product engineer from IIT–Mumbai). The unique combination of glass and gopuram represents a fusion between majestic traditional styles and bold new aesthetics. The original simple temple design started in 1990 estimated to cost Rs.10 crore gave way to a more stunning, unique architectural model that cost Rs.32 crore. The construction started in 1990. Six hundred skilled craftsmen spent more than 10 million man-hours to construct this architectural wonder. 32,000 cubic meters of stone, 131,250 tons of cement and 1,900 tons of steel were used in the construction. Subsequently the temple construction was completed in 1997.The temple and cultural complex was inaugurated by the then President of India, Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma on May 31, 1997.Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma said:It gives me immense pleasure to associate myself with the inauguration of this Center for Advancement of Culture of International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) here in Bangalore. This magnificent complex, a blend of tradition and modernity, is a symbol of the dedication and devotion of ISKCON to the cause of bhakti and service. It is an architectural landmark. I congratulate all those who have worked tirelessly to set up this splendid edifice.

#IncredibleIndia #अतुल्यभारतThis temple is like a sea of happiness, its an ocean of tranquility, its the universe of devotion and love; it is about everything as lord Shri Krishna & Radha rani are present here in their divine form. Devotees chanting hare krishna maha mantra & singing bhajans makes the atmosphere more divine & magical. The idols inside the temple are timeless and captivating, i mean, i can behold them for hours. Sitting here infuses another level of energy in the body and mind. Chanting mahamantra on the each step was altogether a pretty good experience. Apart from the spiritual experience this temple has other good things to offer. From food/prasadam to books to souvenir you will get everything here. The temple complex is pretty big and it houses a theatre, restaurent, open spaces and ample parking space for 4 & 2 wheelers. Emergency exits are also available. Parking rate for 4wheeler is Rs 30 flat. Clicking pictures are not allowed inside hence i cannot show you the garbha grah but trust me it will be worth visiting.
