Very nice park in the heart of Moscow city. It has nice views with trees Anne water. There park is big so if you want to explore the whole area you will need a lot of time to walk through it. It has some good restaurants and coffeeshops
Beautiful, Serene & Calming. You can spend time in leisure, play with your kids and enjoy a soothing evening. Place has rides, cafes, scooters and is pet friendly.
I have a deja-vu feeling that I was already prompted to share my opinion of Sokolniki park. Oh well, I can write like like Tolstoy, quantity wise at least ) The park is very old, I looked up old maps and general shape and main roads, cutting through it, were formed around the time of Peter the Great. Recently it was modernised with hip summer benches and nice walkways. Rosarium is a great garden within a garden. Chekhov used to party and drink here with his friends. Now I am sure that I was mentioning it before. Shall I write new park impressions every week now?) Google maps prompts me!
Quite cool park to walk or ride a bike. Fresh air, food, but a lot of ppl on holidays/summer time.
Very beautiful and lots of snacks are available. We rented a bike and had a nice drive around the park.
We enjoyed a lot at this place. Especially kids loved the place. They have got plenty of activities. Thoroughly a place to spend atleast 4 to 6 hrs.
One the largest recreational park in Moscow, known for its exhibition center and attractions 👍
Beautiful park but its too big you need bicycle
Awesome park for scooter or bike, but if you need additional entertainment, it is not best place
The weather was really nice. Clean free restrooms at least the one we went to.Signs with detections were helpful.Too many kids on scooters made it a little annoying.Overall it was a good experience )
Loved the mini food stands and green areas and the quiteness
Very nice place to spend your time with family and friends doing a lots of kind of sport.
Beautiful park with plenty activities for entire family
Good place for walks and spots activities
Very well park in MoscowI went there with friends buy the bicycles, we took bicycles in go there through Moscow, I like that park, it was Saturday and park was full of people. There is a huge place in Moscow just walk around and get some good mood. The park has pool and if it sunny and warm day you can buy a ticket and spend there good time. Or just walk around, park has small and beautiful pound with ducks and swans. But there is no historical objects, just walk around.
Great place for all type of people, children, old! Never miss this place if you visit Moscow, very near to Metro Sokolniki
Nature dominated but still wel civilised wonderful place in centre of Moscow, suitable for all purposes including Relaxation & retreats, education & training, kids, family and single people, romance and even business meetings. But regarding education and business meetings, specially for corporate meetings it may only be suitable if you can think creatively and go out of box soundproof, air-conditioned hi tech hall corporate events. It is well connected with metro and other transportation systems, has eating places and restrooms (toilets). It is very well maintained. Moscow Government deserves 8 out of 10 points for it.Recommended to develop few more restrooms and government provided drinking water to protect ecology and avoid plastic pollution from sale of water bottles. Idea may be taken from Singapore or Santa Monica USA.
Very nice place for an afternoon stroll. Beware of the weekends it will be super crowded and everyone trying to sell you some not so tasty drinks and food.
Sokolniki is a beautiful park of great size.
I liked it. The people there have fun, dance, walk their dogs, take photos and relax on the benches. Its mostly clean there, the toilets are said to be nice, they also are free.Worth paying a visit!
This park is as if from a dream. If I designed a park it would be less than this. There is everything you want, but with space, lots of space. Every single thing you want from a park this has, I fell in love with it. Great food, great walks, paths, family sizes bikes to hire, lights, wow, those lights, a section of giant planets alight in the dark, and thats only 5% of the park. You could spend an entire week here and not see it all.
Place for achieving Dzen-state
It is not that impressive as you enter but you could see just green as you go more inside.
There are so many beautiful parks in Moscow. And this place is one of the most popular, beautiful and famous park in Moscow, where you need to come there one time. More, you can go a walk, have a small picnic or maybe eat famous 48 kopeks ice cream there.
One of the best - so big and tranquil. Get lost and find your free soul here.
👍
Always a good pleasure. Such a nice park. Looking forward to ice skating.
Great to see it from outside. But lots of drawbacks in planning and realization of infrastructure cuts off 2 stars. Add one star back if you go there by foot (it is way better designed for pedestrians then for cyclists).
Excellent place for kids
A nice place to visit. And it’s bigger than some may reckon. Not a bad place for festival goers. Great for a family visit. Enjoy the park’s lush greenery and don’t forget to take a path... not traveled by 😉. BTW, the park has a rental station, offering bikes, and scooters, and stuff, which is not bad considering that the park is immense.
A good place to relaxing and get rid out of Urban life stress even for a while! It looks like park is designed for people for bicycling or riding scooter etc.If you take a look around you will find some beautiful ponds as well. Some attractive events are taking place here either on a regular basis.
This is a very a attractive place for every kind of rest.Everyone can find in Sokolniki Park whatever he/she wants for the plesure time. Its one of the best forest park in Moscow
Nice place in Moscow for family weekend with nice playgrounds, birds park and interesting indoor activities. Very well equipped ice ring for skating in winter time with skates for rent and warm changing area. You can also enjoy music and warm hands at specially equipped booths with cats images on them.
Fantastic park.. always something new to explore!
Great food and attractions
Its my favorite park.
Sokolniki Park, named for the falcon hunt of the Grand Dukes of Muscovy formerly conducted there, is located in the eponymous Sokolniki District of Moscow. Sokolniki Park is not far from the center of the city, near Sokolnicheskaya Gate. The park gained its name from the Sokolnichya Quarter, the 17th-century home of the sovereigns falconers (sokol is the Russian word for falcon). It was created by Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich (father of Peter the Great), a keen hunter who loved to go falconing in the area. The parks current layout of clearings and alleys began under Tsar Peter the Great. In 1900 a labyrinth, or network of alleys, was laid out.Today Sokolniki is a typical Russian park, with an aging funfair and other amusements for children, and numerous fast food stalls all clustered near the main entrance. In summer the central alleyways are a mass of brightly colored formal flowerbeds, while the depths of the park are a wilderness home to pines and spruces, birches and oaks, limes and maples - all trees native to the Moscow region - as well as a number of non-indigenous trees, such as larches, cedars, walnut, red oaks, etc. The parks wildlife includes hares, squirrels and weasels, as well as 76 types of bird.It was established as a public municipal park in 1878. From 1931 onwards Sokolniki has been developed as an official park of culture and leisure. The park, with an area of six square kilometers, is also the most Western extension of a larger Losiny Ostrov natural reserve that spans from the Eastern edge of Sokolniki to MKAD ring road and beyond. The park territory contains an amusement park, a winter outdoor ice skating rink and an exposition centre which was the site of the Kitchen Debate at the American National Exhibition in 1959.It also contains the Sokolniki Sports Palace, home to the ice hockey team HC Spartak Moscow. The soccer club in Sokolniki was the site of the 2006 murder of Central Bank executive Andrey Kozlov.Sokolniki Park is famous for its chess club, which is located on the rotunda of the far end of the parks circle. The chess club produced some of the finest grandmasters of history. During the 1959 US-USSR expo, exhibition matches were held for the eyes of the US delegation, headed by then-Vice President Richard Nixon. In the 1970s, the then-little known engineer Natan Sharansky coached locals at the chess club. He would later go on to be a renowned refusenik activist and Israeli politician.
Simply big, calm, quite and full of greenery. One can come here alone or in group for reading a book or for a small picnic. There are plenty of well maintained washrooms, seats, and koisks. One can hire electric carts, scooter, cycle to explore the park... Its huge and is well maintained
Peaceful , full of trees , availability of different kinds of food , separate cycle and roller skating roads inside the park.
This park is a really nice one, especially in winter. If you want some Xmas mood go there! Lots of alleys, skate rinks (you can rent skates if you have your own), ski rental kiosks, lights, decorations, hot drinks machines and fast-food kiosks, tiny and not so tiny restaurants and alike.
Just love this place! I grew up here and still visiting this place almost on daily basis (if I am in the city).Great for every age: walking with a stroller in the forest area, taking your child to play area or to the children center, take a sweet in a open pool or enjoy a fountain, meet elks and squirrels, enjoy your run or exercise, have fun in amusement park or panda land, in winter have a most magical moments on main ring road ice skating...and many more options to do!
Gorki Park is the place to see and to be seen. But Sokolniki is the place to go if you would like to experience the real Moscow. Nice venues and mainly local people. And the park itself is huge / so dont get lost!
Moscow parks are generally good, but Sokolniki is one of the very best. And it is so large that even with huge number of visitors is easy to find quiet place. Its only drawback is that it is difficult to find parking spot.
One of the best parks in Moscow. Good infrastucture, many activities. You can even meet wild elk, if you are lucky.
I love this park. Many recreation facilities..
Fantastic winter place. We found it by chance wondering what the lights were from our hotel. Amazing ice skating available around the park, cross country skiing, ice sculptures. Fun places for children . Found a lovely place to eat too however, the Downsidw was we could not find a toilet !
An incredible variety of healthy lifestyle entertainment options, as well as not so healthy (such as hot pastry outlets). Great place to go to on your own or with a large company of friends, regardless of your age. Awesome for kids, too.
The best of nature, clean, friendly guards and security. Clean toilets in pavilions. A wide variety of clean street food, ice creams and tea with varenie. Music and platform for dancing in the evenings.
Lovely park within walking distance from metro. Beautiful in winter for skating and in summer it is a cool park to stroll around for any age level. Apart from that, lot of activity happening all year around. It is perfect for anyone.
Wonderful for wanderlust! Lush, botanic marvels, playgrounds everywhere, space, fresh air, good spirits! Profoundly naturally human. Go!
A fair park. Been there on a national holiday and on the weekdays. Very different experiences, both good. Many stands and activities during the holidays. A quiet and slow place in the middle of the week.
Good place
Nice Park with many possibilities to relax.
