Have been visiting since a pretty long time(more than a decade). This review is after the recent visit(after Corona and lockdown norms), this restaurant USED to be one of best one for Donne biryani in town.But now things have changed in the bad direction. Both dining and takeaways are worse. In case of dining, you will definitely not find table if you are late, management does not follow any sequence to assign tables to guests. You will have experience of football man to man marking, some one will be at your table waiting for you to finish your food so they can be seated. In the sequence of getting yourself a table, you definitely need to know someone at the place(to influence for the table lol, if it is crowded).Takeaways is a different story altogether, they have packed the items much before(say like couple of hours) and you need to pick it up. Again, half the items on the menu will not be available and you need to approach someone in restaurant for support to get the dishes(which was told not available few minutes back).Overall, place is turned into one big pathetic mess. Highly recommend not to visit this place it is just hyped much now over social media and online.There are definitely much better restaurants to visit in Bangalore.

People just breath over your neck while you eat. Could have made better arrangements to manage large crowd especially during covid. And sometimes you will be left with no food when you enter at 2 pm.

Taste will be best here no issues with food but Only thing which makes me to give this rating is over the year they have done nothing about crowd management. People standing next to the tables for grabbing the next seat looks terrible. Few times we have returned disappointed as things sold out and that too after standing in a queue for more than a hour. Timings are not updated. If they do something about handling huge crowds on weekends specially probably they will be the best place to dine out as well on any day.

The biryanis were good with mildly spicy taste. However,the place gets way too crowded by 12:00 pm onwards especially during weekends. If you are late,you have to stand waiting for your chance to get a table

Very good hotel for Non-vegetarian, verities in chicken and mutton with spice.Those who are looking for more spicy non veg food can have visit there.

Completely time waste, no proper seating arrangements. Eating peacefully is only a dream here. People stand behind waiting for tables as if it is freely donated food. Might be serving tastier food not sure as we never got to eat there due to this inconvenience. Always it was waiting for long and leave hungry due to sweating and suffocation. People love to eat peacefully when they are spending their hard earned money not thinking about person standing behind who is staring when will the person finish food and get lost.

It was nostalgia all over again visiting this place after 6 years chicken dishes were amazing especially the chicken curry however the mutton quality has gone down a bit as far as I can remember, nevertheless great flavour

The timings needs to be updated in all sites, as they open to serve people only by 9.15 Am and not by 8 AM as stated,only reason for low rating. Lot of unnecessary waiting and many people left disappointed.We managed to grab a coffee in close by cafe,then finally had yummy Chicken ,it was great!!! And biryani tasted good even though mutton pieces could have been better.

Taste is authentic Donne biryani..Limited menu but satisfies the hunger pangs of foodies.The mutton and chicken dry are both cooked with generous amounts of Mustard oil..you can literally see cans of Fortune Mustard oil stacked in their kitchen..Biryani quantity is quite huge and it needs a good appetite to finish 1 plate.There might be some waiting time involved as this place is usually crowded.Meal for 2 will be roughly around 700/- bucks.Bon Appetite!!

A lot of unnecessary waiting to get a seat, for them to serve biryani degrades the legacy. The biryani is good when its not if u go after 2.45 in the afternoon its taste will not be to the liking. The chicken chilli and leg soup are tasty. The price is bit high when compared to others.

It was ok as the briyani was very spicy which dominated the taste. Dry Leg piece was great. Due to the spice we couldnt finish the whole briyani.. I would recommend Not worth as per the price

Lack of proper management and service. We have to stand next to a table and wait untill the occupants complete their lunch to avail seating. It is not a pleasant thing for you to do, as well as the people who are already having food are annoyed looking at someone standing next to you staring at your plate thinking when will you finish. No one is bothered if you have been waiting since an hour or even more. It your headache to get seated, management can atleast make efforts to obtain seating in a first come first serve basis. On top of it, Service is too slow, have to wait 30 minutes for them to just start the service. They should really work on speeding up the service so waiting time can be reduced and more ppl can be served, especially on Sundays. Have been going here since years, taste is nothing like before. For me it was nothing more than a peas pulav with meat in it. Very disappointed, probably my last visit here.

Superb food with that aroma never tasted such a nice Donne Biryani. Only the thing is we have to wait atleast 30 to 45 mins to get a seat in weekends it will take up to 1 and half hours.

Poor management. You get a Place after half an hour and even before u finish ppl stand near ur table to tk ur seat. Meal is overrated. Overpriced as compare to quality. You have to share ur table with others as well.

Biryani is not so much tasty as expected, I felt it is not worth to money. The pieces of the biryani were like boiled with water and salt without having any masala taste or aroma.

Ohh, you got to love their food. The mutton dry/fry is just heavenly. When it comes to their biryani, I would say it is good but nothing extraordinary. However, I may have been there on my unlucky days so there is still a place for the biryani to go up in my fav list. It is in 1st floor, you should be there by 11:30 to guarantee you a nice hassle free entry. If you are with family, it would be hard getting group seating together as it gets crazy after 11;30 AM. Weekends, it just bursts with crowd. There will alwaya be a queue for takeaways. The mutton gravy which is served in a cup is the best I have had in any Kannadiga restaurant in Bangalore. They are generous with their raita also. I have not yet tried their chili chicken yet so it is next on my list.

Visited this place after a very long time, my colleague at work mentioned this place and said mutton melted in his mouth, which made me to go here.Pros:1) taste is very good2) very spicy3) liked the gravy they gave for biryani4) mutton dry and Chilly chicken were excellentNow, I am sure that, everyone would be wondering why I gave only a 3-star rating.Cons:1) its very spicy, not everyone might be able to handle it.2) seating arrangements were very poorly managed, I dont like anyone waiting at the table for me to leave. I like MTR for this, they have a waiting hall and someone escort you to the table, as & when it becomes available.3) people who regularly visited said that they have reduced the quantity and increased the price.4) prices have been increased by 40 to 60 rupees, prices are expensive and in line with paradise.5) meat was a little rubbery, it should have been cooked for a little while longer to make it tender and juicy.6) cost for two can easily be more than 800 rupees.7) they gave mutton dry (Rs. 220) & chilly chicken (Rs. 180) in a cup.

The seating arrangement is very bad. You have to stand and wait for tables to get free.The food is also not so great. Biryani is same as Donne Biryani which you get at other places.Totally overated.

Went for Breakfast by 9.30am but had to wait untill 10.30 am to understand that only chiken items are available. The spices are too high that the actual taste is subsided. Being a Hyderabadi Dum Biriyani fan i was dissapointed to see the quantity but this donne style is a must try. Looking forward in future to try all items.

Good donne biriyani if you like that style of biriyani. That apart, definitely over-hyped place. Youve got to wait for at least half an hour to get a seat. Its hot and crowded. And I dont think the food justifies the wait. Not worth the hype.

It was damn crowded even on a Wednesday afternoon. There were about 40 people in line for parcel and so many people waiting for dining in. No reservations so you need to wait only. But after eating that biriyani anyone would go again in. The hype for this place is so true. Good food worth it.

Loved the whole experience. Amazing and tasty donne biryani. The place gets crowded real quick on weekends, weekdays are comparatively better.But all on the items on the menu are a must try. Clean, Hygienic and Tasty. A little pricey,but thats a personal opinion.

Mutton Biryani is a must try. Chicken dry and the mutton dry were delicious but too spicy. The only negative is the waiting time and you literally need to stand beside one table to keep it reserved for you. Its awkward for you and also the person whos already having his lunch/dinner in that table also.

Service is not good, no social distance maintained…. Items in the menu where not available… had to wait for almost 20mins to get one biriyani… social media craze had dragged us there… but not the worth for price, wait, quantity and hype… one good thing was food was tasty but not hot as shown in videos

Worst time I had. I heard this is a place of 85years old but Im wondering how these guys are developed thier servicing and management all these time. Not at all good at managing. And Im sure for the next 85 years also these will be like this . Dont come here...

All dish are the cooked top notch. The only down fall according to me is the dinning situation. I have been here most of the times during weekends, no doubt its crowded. My only suggestion to the visitors to order take out and eat out to maintain social distancing that too before 3pm. Or else itll be closed.

Amazing Biryani and chicken/mutton dishes... pretty spicy. We eagled on a table for 1.5hr before our turn came. Unfortunately mutton biriyani is sold out but chicken is good too. BTW please carry tissue paper or kerchief to wipe your sweat, nose and tears 😀...this place is not for faint stomachs.

Place is over crowded and need to wait. The Mutton Biryani is served hot in Donne. The serving quantity was pretty big and very filling. Spicy Taste and good . Worth a visit and eating it hot which makes a difference. Tough to get parking in that narrow lanes. Service is good. Dont expect any ambience there. Its the very typical old style of building reminiscent of Shivaji.😉

Amazing treat to the palate if you enjoy the simple flavours of the mutton biryani. Opening time is subject to the cue waiting for their turn and may vary by an hour. But the wait is worth it. Tried their mutton biryani, chicken chops and bone soup. Each one as filling and delicious as the next. Word of advice though...dont take everything at once...wont be able to finish it.Good thing they pack the leftovers for takaway!

I have been going to this place for ten years (Now I have stopped due to the crazy crowd, increased prices and reduced taste) but no improvements in terms of seating arrangement. They should make token system it isnt that hard. It is ridiculous that they intentionally make customers wait beside table to create hype.Beware of waiters they will charge you extra without your knowledge. This restaurant doesnt want to improve on customer experience at all. I wouldnt go here on weekends or after 1 oclock.I like their biriyani but not enough to go through the ordeal.

Worst biriyani hotel in Bangalore.No proper crowd management. You will be standing behind people who are having food to catch your seat. Biriyani quality is very poor and only an hype created by the hotel management. Biriyani and chicken chops and leg pieces are full of chilli powder. No hygiene.. servers will not wear proper masks and prices are sky rocketing.

Even though its since 80 yrs and run by 3rd generation. It doesnt treat customer properly. Damn expensive biryanis with very less quantity. Taste was ok , they had board which mentioned mutton biryani later said no mutton. If you want your tummy full it will surely make a hole in wallets.

Last Sunday I have visited here, huge queue was there, waited for long time, but nothing wasted,I have taken the parcel of mutton biryani & mutton chops, it was superb 😀 enjoyed while having it, good taste, different recipe.

The place is always over crowded. Better to visit as early as possible in the day. There may be a chance that you may not get your desired meal as the stock lasts for few minutes at peak hours. By this you can imagine how much people love this place. Better to pay a visit and enjoy their scrumptious meal. Red alert for those who do not eat spicy food. Its spicy, but its super tasty!

Very nice neat and clean place even though they server non-veg you dont get the stinck, Social distance is maintained and customer are treated well, they welcome with a smile, even the support staff there are curteous, Now the food they serve is finger licking and you just dont want to move out of the table as the items are so tasty that you will be tempted to taste all. Biryani at shivaji dont need any intro its amazing. I recommend you all to visit once and try the host of dishes that suits your palate.
