I visited IISc as a part of industrial visit from our college. It is of course one of the best institutes. Here I explored departments like chemistry, physics, aeronautics and clean room. Clean room (where nano fabrication takes place) was indeed very clean and we were asked to wrap our slippers with plastic covers to avoid any dust entering the room. Since it was one day trip and was for few hours we could not explore many things. In departments like chemistry and physics many projects were showcased. Here people get to learn and explore many things.

This is the best place to do research in India, hands down. People here are research minded and are open to new ideas. The professors are also open-minded and encourage people to think.Even the course work is done in an interactive, open-ended, research oriented manner in such a way that it assists the students further in their research.As for the ambience, this can be said to be the best place to live in the entire Bangalore city.For a city like Bangalore in 2019, where pollution, traffic are day to day companions, having a pollution free zone in the middle of the city, which is near to Yeshwantpur Railway station and some other places nearby like Malls, ISKCON, and others. And there is a mini forest inside the campus that inhabits many many species of both flora and fauna, many species of birds, trees, plants, small animals like otters etc. A nature friendly place that gives peace of mind...

Placements : The placements were not the primary concern for many students in the college. Most of the students were interested in higher studies, but the trend is slightly changing. Many students are interested in working. Our department has bad placements. A few companies offered low salaries, so the students who got selected rejected the offers. My senior batch were 6 out of which 5 got placed. From this year onwards, 2018 companies are allowed to come for internships too. So of my batch mates got intern.Infrastructure : The infrastructure is awesome. You have all the required lab equipments one and only one of its kind in IISc. Also the classrooms are spacious with facility for slideshow. There are 5 -6 restaurants on campus. Which is open even for night owls. Library have less books but more journals. Coming to sports, a separate cricket ground, hockey ground, well furnished badminton courts, chess and yoga rooms. Unfortunately Wi-Fi is only available in department area but not available in hostel area.Faculty : Teachers give a lot assignments, which are really helpful. Students get hands-on experience in circuit boards. Students learn everything in practical manner. So they get deeper understanding. Teachers did their Ph.D. from world best colleges. Also students are taken to nearby industry for practical understanding.
