One of the most famous places in Belur, the Paathaaleshwara Temple is one of the ancient sculptures constructed by the Ganga kings. Known for the colour-changing lingam present at the temple, the place attracts thousands of tourists. Constructed by carving on stones, this temple in Belur has fantastic architecture. Standing in near ruins, this little wonder of Karnataka is an understated one.

Worst part is, they have demolished old temple and built new here. It was totally disappointed. The original structure and ancient stone carvings were stunning. Just for the sake of money and popularity, they reconstructed this temple.The originality has gone. We people never deserve saving our ancient culture and history.

This temple was constructed 500 years ago was was deteriorating. From them help of Dharmastala and local people, this place is renovated and it available for public. Though it is a small temple, it is on the main road and easy to access. A must visit place during visit to Belur.

Historical place. Very good place to go to. Slightly crowded here.
