Wow, someone recommended this place to me and I am so glad I tried them out. Some of the best Indian food in the area and although many places are good and charge you an arm and a leg in our gentrified region, this place offers a great quality and variety for cost ratio. I would definitely recommend trying them out. Both their vegetarian and meat options are delicious.
They are open until midnight for delivery. Indoor and outdoor seating are available. This is possibly the number 1 Indian place in Bellevue as far as flavor. The mango lassie here is definitely the best of anywhere in Bellevue that I have tried so far. Free parking is a little tight at times. Casual environment. Good place for a date, to talk about your code, or your muscle car. If you can do 1 of those 3 you are doing good.Fact: Programers love American muscle cars, especially those who use Python or Ruby.
- Did not like it, oily food with no taste. You can get very good food at other restaurants nearby (if you can travel to crossroads you can better food).- Attached images are part of a thali for to-go order, they have chef special on both veg and non-veg (they give whatever is available that day, no option to see it online), still neither tasted good.
Good service by Dakshiesh , being vegetarian this place is good for chat items and vegetarian rice
Sometimes there’s a bit of wait, but the food is absolutely amazing!
Good place for simple Indian food. Great taste.. wish there are more veg food options
Amazing food at midnight. Brings memories of home. Food is tasty. Indian food at midnight when no other Indian restaurant is open. Hats off to you guys🙏
Try their mutton Sukha and chicken Chettinadu…. It’s awesome. Mutton Biriyani is my another favorite. Chole bature, palak paneer are other favorites. An Indian feel. Go there and try it. You will love it. Friendly staff. Indoor and outdoor seating, I personally prefers outdoor mostly. Cool breeze, nice ambiance at night. Curries are available in both half and full portions. Garlic Naan is awesome here.
Delicious. Best Tandori chicken you will ever have. Chicken 65 is SPICY but delicious!! 5 stars. Try this place.
Quick service , tasty food, priced adequately and great location !! That’s sums up the entire experience about this place. Must try food items for vegetarians : Palak paneer and yellow daal . The curries are delicious and filled with flavor. Ambience is okay but do visit them for Indian food. Also, they have options for 8oz curries ( which is a superb idea for bachelors or portions for single people ). The fresh naans and rotis are good as well. The parking is convenient in the nearby parking lot. They also have outdoor seating. If you are in Bellevue and craving Indian food, bookmark this place. It’s a must visit !
Very nice Lamb Biriyani! My friend recommended this and its actually true. Enough quantity and reasonable price!! We have tried Biriyani only so not sure on other Menu items.
Got some To go food today from here. The Lunch Thali portion sizes were decent and quite filling. With my office being closeby, I would go here again.
I order from this place regularly. Really nice food, and they are opened till 12am so perfect for a mid-night meal or late dinner. Chatty and nice staff. My favorite spot in downtown Bellevue.
Delicious food every time. One of the few restaurants in Bellevue thats open really late at night.
Went there for dine in, staff unfriendly, no acknowledgement whatsoever, no thank you, definitely they need to improve their customer service. The food is tasteless, we ordered lamb curry (meat was tough, we didn’t eat), & chicken tikka Marsala, ghee food came in small portions, did not come feign salad like they do in such places, + if you ask for extra bread (remember small portions) you have to pay more. Expensive , looking at how the food taste, I paid $70 for barely any food. Will never go there again, period
If I could give 0 stars I would. If your not Indian or white dont expect to be given quality service. So much for wanting to try something new.
Very very long wait. Waited almost an hour for 2 dishes (aloo papri chat and paneer tikka). Not worth the wait. Make sure you check wait time before ordering.
Indian food with a touch of Bengali taste. The Biryani here sometimes makes us reminisce the Kolkata Biryani (Lucknowi style) which is so hard to get in the Seattle area. When it comes to the Lamb roganjosh the taste it unmatched. We have also tasted the tandoori items here and they have all the authentic flavors and textures that we crave for.
Most dishes are great.Miss their rumaali roti and lachcha parathas though
First time here. 2pm it was pretty empty and cashier was not there. Started reading the menu and the guy showed up but zip, not a word! Stared at me lol I sat down after ordering and OMG the noise. They have a fridge upfront for drinks and its like a diesel engine running in your face! LOUD af. There is music playing but no way you can hear it haha. I like freshly baked bread and they had it so at least I enjoyed that but will not return.
Amazing service and food that I have had .
Good indian samosa and best achari paneer starter.
Achari panner Tikka was the worst I have ever had. Bland in taste, lacking flavor. Chicken curry was equally bad and the amount of rice they gave with our order was literally just enough for a kid. Nans were the only thing which were good but whats the use of good nans if curries are not good.
Heard a lot about this place during my visit to Seattle so I decided to give them a try. Not pictured but was actually my favorite was the paneer Tika masala. It wasn’t sweet and exactly how it should be! And I recommend that with a good butter Naan. The goat biryani was excessively spicy though and after a few bites not too enjoyable. The papri chaat was actually pretty good but they prepared it very messy and was spilling everywhere. The bathroom could use some work and wish the atmosphere was a bit cleaner from the inside.
It’s a hit or miss. Chicken is good. Fish always has more salt.
Probably the best masala chai in the US
Food was okay. Tikka masala was good.
Curry was good. Biryani was so salty.I had to throw it. I will never buy biryani from this place.
Seems like they have too much business now and even if they tried they wont be able to give any longer a good service, almost 2 hours making 2 chicken tikka is insane .i like them but wont be going back anytime soon.
Cant beleive I havent written a review for this place yet, its simply amazing! They have delicous indian food thats actually fresh. Their naans are huge and the perfect combination to any dish. I love getting their Tikka Masala Curry which comes with plenty of chicken and the Palak Paneer dish. Both are fingerlicking delicous and even come with a free side of basmatic rice. Most places in Bellevue will always charge extra for rice so this is a plus for me! The service is always fast and doesnt take longer then 20mins usually. I love ordering to go as well and love that theyre open late. Last August, I also ordered catering from them for my wedding that was at my house and they were so professional and had us do a food tasting at the restaurant and made everything to perfection and delivered too! All of our guests were raving about the food and I couldnt be more happier with their service. Highly recommend checking them out in the Bellevue downtown area.
The food is pretty tasty. There are VERY weird people there sometimes. Normally it’s pretty casual. Various people getting their food. This last time I visited there was a lady that for some reason picked me out of about 30 people there (it was a VERY busy night). She asked me if I believe in God and Jesus and then decided that I didn’t on her own. She asked me to sit with her and talk about it and I said “That’s a kind invitation but I’m going to have to decline.” She decided I was a heathen and started screaming and swearing at me telling me she was going to break my neck and that God was going to kill me. I have included some wonderful photos of her as I was leaving. She could have been my soul mate but my soul was beyond redemption to her apparently. Enjoy the photos. The food is excellent. Their Gulab Jamuns are off the hook.
This is the STANDARD for how Indian food should taste. Each dish was meticulously crafted and freshly made to order. The order may take little longer to receive, but this isn’t fast-food. If only I was a local and wasn’t visiting so I could eat this as often as a wished. When I go back home to Texas, all other Indian places that I’ll search for, I will judge them in comparison to Cafe Bollywood.
If you miss Oh India! in Crossroads Mall that became something else in 2021, fret not... this is by the same owner and has the exact same recipes! Yay!
As a somewhat frequent orderer of Indian food, Im surprised that this place doesnt get much higher ratings. If I were to guess, it might depend on what you order- but if you like the spicy end of the menu, this is the spot. My default is the Vindaloo, which at other places often be oily or just plain hot with little bits of chicken, but here they give you big soft chunks of chicken in a well-herbed and dense curry.Staff is always accommodating and friendly (they seem very chilled out anyway) which is also not something you often get at busy take out joints.
Consistency is the word, excellent yummy Briyani, great tandoori murgh, yummy vada pavs, chole bhatture. Lassis and rasamalis are yumm.. samosas are terrific. Im a regular here (Im Indian) so take my word, they modify spice level as per preference, so do ask for it. Chai is good too. Cleanliness, delivery time are excellent. This is definitely my favorite Indian restaurant around Seattle and Bellevue area.
Super delicious. They seem to know the exact amount of time required to cook meat and veggies.
I went to the restaurant to order lunch and observed the chefs in the kitchen are not even wearing a mask.
Ordered food tonight. Veg Jalfrezi was very bad and it was their most popular dish. Lacha parata was good.
It was as usual excellent/delicious experience.
High quality food, but rude staff.
I am visiting this place from the last 2 years and food is always good. People are nice. Specially the chef make delicious food and give good suggestions to try. Try their Tandoori murg, Chicken Tikka Masala with garlic naan.
Tried their Diwali special Mutton Dum Biryani yesterday. It was an hour longer than the pick up time mentioned, but was worth the wait. The Biryani tasted awesome, true Kolkata style. Few things that could have made it a 5 - 1) An additional piece of mutton to maintain the rice to meat ratio. Otherwise slightly reduce the rice quantity and price it at 20$ instead of 25$, 2) an extra piece of yummy Aloo (potato), 3) 2 half slices of a boiled egg.
Very pleased with the food and the service
Best restaurant in Bellevue! Delicious food with huge portions. Everything in their menu is delicious!
Best Indian food you get in Bellevue
This was one of the best Indian food I’ve had! These guys have one of the best restaurants in Washington. Don’t miss it!
No mask ,no safety,no sanitizer in entire store.when they don’t care our health, why do we care to give them a business.Specially the tall guy ,I told him to wear a mask and he started arguing with me.Finally I just wanna tell them only one thing, please use mask while you cooking food .
Dont go by the prices listed on their menus, its atleast a $1-2 more than the listed. Ordered gosht biryani and it turned out to be salty.
Amazing food, if you love Indian food and miss real, fresh food, go eat here. I just discovered this a few weeks ago and we have been going here at least once if not twice a week. Joy and the staff really care about the ingredients and the food taste, I love they don’t compromise it. Keep up the good work team, so glad for you!!!
Best Indian restaurant in Bellevue WA. Food quality is great, specially Palak Paneer, Tandoori Roti, Dal fry. Recently they had special menu for India festival Durga Puja and food was excellent. Recommended anyday.
It was a decent place but wouldnt call it great.Had vegetable biryani for lunch and didnt taste all that authentic Indian. Spice was not right for the authentic Indian food you would want to eat. Price was on the higher side considering ambience and taste. Not that I dont recommend this place but I may not visit again.
Very well organised and accessible place. They provide generous portions and for affordable prices. We loved the menu very much and the staff were very personal and chatty. Recommended.
This place is excellent! Really flavorful food and friendly service. I’m really impressed.
Butter chicken is the only item which I prefer here , tandoor chicken dipped into good textured tomato onion spice blend sauce..Rogan gosh was below average and the weird part of this restaurant is they refer tandoor roti as butter naan , disappointed by rogan gosh and butter naan
I use to like to eat here but today the guy was coughing and he looks really sick, I ask him and he told me had head ache, his mask was dirty as he was coughing all morning, gross experience.
Everything we ordered was delicious and the price was decent! The naan was super fresh and even when I reheated it the next day for lunch, it did not dry out. We will be going back for sure!
Good Indian food at cheap rates compared to other places in Bellevue. They dont serve, it is self serving restaurant. There are some table and chairs where you can seat in and eat. Not a clean place though. I will suggest take out and eat at your place.
Great lunch for $11. Tried every vegetarian option on the lunch menu and Id order each one again. Everything was full of flavor, but not too spicy. Generous portions. Very speedy too. Might be my new favorite find in Bellevue.
Eaters this another best piece to have lunch and Dinner good foodAnd good service there
Very unhygienic, specially during Covid. I had late night food pick up. There were overall 4 employees at that time. 2 employees were not wearing mask. One employee was wearing who was packing my food. 4th employee was wearing but mask didn’t have thread to hold from down side. Just one thread from up side which means breathing can come out easily from downside while cooking. Breathing wasn’t covered from both sides. Strongly avoid this place until Covid ends. Restaurants should follow the mask strictly.
If you come here for lunch on weekdays, make sure you try their veggie of the day. Food and the bread is always fresh and hot. The food is worth the bucks.
Best indian food in Downtown Bellevue!
Very bad food, tasteless. 0 out of 10
Open late on a Friday, huge plus!! Food was great, parking is available and easily accessible...which can’t be said for every restaurant in Bellevue! The true determination for a five star review (for me) is if I instantly tell my friends about a place and it starts with, “I HAVE to take you to...” that is exactly what I did after I ate at Cafe Bollywood.
Its a nice place to have a meal. They started veg biryani nd it tastes so good.Definetly recommend it.
Definitely worth the walk here from my office. Delicious and great value for the money. Must try their lunch combo. Authentic indian food. But if you cannot take any spiciness at all, better avoid.
I arrived about 15 minutes before they opened they were so gracious to still serve me. The chicken is so tender. Ill probably start eating here for my lunches from now on
Food is really bad - we ordered chat and all they add is yogurt and spice ... I wouldn’t recommend this place.
This place is so good, that Ive been there so many times. Each time I go, I always see something new on the menu. Each dish is appealing which comes out smelling savory and appetizing, unlike other places that use the regular common dishes to serve.Being a Mumbaikar in Canada, I always miss the street food back home. But, whenever I visit Cafe Bollywood it reminds me of Mumbais Best street Food.Do try the Indian (Mumbai) version of Burger Vada Pav and its varieties. So as many other dishes too.The prices are extremely reasonable compared to similar places in the Regina and just as good, if not better!Cheers!!!
Good vegetarian food.
Tasty and filling
Fish recipes and Biriyani were good
Great portion sizes for the price and good lunch specials. Have eaten at many different indian restaurants and this definitely ranks within the top 5. If youre planning on eating lunch here, you will want to get there around 11:30 to beat the rush.
It had been ages since I had anything from Indian chaat and I was super excited to try some here. I absolutely enjoyed the samosa chat and I wish I could have tried more of what they offered. The staff is very friendly and sweet. It was my first time in Bellevue and if I do visit again I will grab a bite here again for sure .
Food is good but if you are looking for a nice ambience, this restaurant is not for you.
I come to cafe bollywood to pick up my doordash orders. every time, the staff are unfriendly and unmotivated to work and i end up waiting 10-15 min while half the staff sit at the tables on their phones. service is very slow and is obviously not a priority
Oh my God the food is always amazing. Wonderful people. I highly recommend this restaurant
The food taste is good however they don’t clean up the tables once people leave so the next customers have to use the same unclean tables. I have been twice here both the times the heaters were not working so it was freezing cold. Will surely won’t visit next time and even if I do. I will order food To Go. Overall poor dining experience.
This place is so unhygienic!! They put too much oil in the food and just look state of the kitchen/workers. No need to say more!
The most unhygienic place I can ever go to. The table were super dirty. There was curry dropped from the last person who sat here. I asked for cleaning. The cashier said. It would take a long time. It was hilarious and rude at same time. The curries were full of oil. God save your belly. And even the oil didnt appear to be of good quality. I already feel like throwing up.
Thank goodness there is a yummy place open until 2am in the morning!
I’m surprised that this place does not have 5 stars. We showed up here at 12 am at night and it was still buzzing with a lot of people. One of the very few Indian places open late at night.Food: We had the tandoori jhinga, Murgh chettinadu, Lamb Rogan Josh, Aloo Papri Chaat and Samosa. All of the dishes were delicious. But the Lamb Rogan Josh and Tandoori Jhinga especially were spectacular!! The lamb and shrimp were both soft and cooked to perfection. For such a small outlet, they have a ton of options on their menu! You can also order half size portions for some dishes.Food service is quick and the price point is super affordable.
The worst food I have ever had in years. I ordered 4 dishes! Every single dish was over cooked and way too spicy. The food sucked. I am from Texas and I love spicy food. I have been to 56 countries and Im appalled that this restaurant still has customers. Every single thing was dry and over cooked including the rice and bread. You couldnt pay me to eat here. Don’t go here. I promise. Really really bad.
