Just had a lovely curry with family prior to settling down and watching England win the Euros (hopefully)! Food was amazing, service impeccable, all the staff were so attentive and patient with the kids on their own table, and I even got to keep the lovely glass pot which my dessert came in! Must admit, never had a dessert post curry before, was delicious! Thanks all at the Masoom for a great evening!

The food here is good and although I realise its Thorpe Bay, that is no need for their high prices, which I think are 15-20% over the top.

Im writing this because my daughter didnt want to cause any issues.She said that the food was very nice but the service was appalling!...the waiter was rude, unknowledgable about the menu and didnt even know what Bombay potatoes were.....I have to say, on a personal level, Ive been to this restaurant and have had a similar experience....if the service was as good as the food Id be giving 5 stars!...disappointing!

Come along if you fancy experiencing the least tentative service you could imagine.All the waiters treat you as if you’re asking them to sign over the deed to their house, it’s extremely uncomfortable.The waiters have zero interest in serving you and flat out ignore you when asking for extra drinks etc.When we were served our food the waiter rudely went round the table, almost shouting, demanding to know what we had, when one of our party didn’t answer quick enough he demanded answers from someone else.This is some of the rudest service I’ve ever experienced and I shall never visit again.Utterly ridiculous!

Lovely food, even accomandated for vegan food but the service was terrible and unfriendly. No smiles or checking if everything was OK. Just blank faces from people who obviously didnt want to work there!

Used to be a favourite of ours but seems to have gone down hill for take aways recently. Tonights dal was so heavily watered down it was like a tasteless broth. Sadly wont be supporting anymore, I expect far better for those prices.

The Food was nice and of a good quality. However despite the waiters seeming proud to call themselves not a cheap restaurant in the area. In such a restaurant you might expect to pay extra for good service, but we still had to wait over 1 hour and a half between our starters and main course, in just a half full restaurant during mid-week. Contrary to what the waiter said the the food was reasonably priced, but not by the time you add just a few drinks we sipped during our wait for food. The staff were poorly trained, nor that polite and seemingly wanted us to to be sat down waiting for as long as possible in order to buy their expensive drinks. When the food eventually arrived they never apologized for the delay. Our total drinks bill was more than what we paid for the food. In a nutshell this place is probably better value as a takeaway, its not too expensive if you do it that way round and avoid eating in. Youll also end up getting much better service, Im sure they can deliver a takeaway in less than 90 minutes. The management need to sort out their approach to business, train their waiters to look out for their customers and keep the kitchen on their toes, so until then Im very unlikely to go back there.One of the worst restaurant experiences Ive had in Southend for a long while and I sadly had higher expectations. Sort it out Masoom, work with your customers and youll turn a much better profit than trying to play dirty restaurant tricks!

Went to eat. The waiter was very rude. The food was awful. They call it Indian. It’s “NOT” an authentic Indian restaurant. Service and food both were really bad. Will never go back here.

I have just spent £31 on an inedible meal, the chicken has the texture of being in a microwave dry and tough. King prawn sag is a disappointment and is just swamped in some sort of sugary sauce 🤢

I cant fault Masooms food.. great quality and good prices.. if you eat in, its what youd expect of an Indian restaurant.. muted lighting and alcoved tables affording a feeling of privacy... its certainly my Indian takeaway of choice in Southend.

Very slow service, never known a restaurant to hoover up while youre still there! (last ones there at only 11.30pm on a Saturday night!!!) not even a Goodbye from the staff and they didnt manage to call a cab ( said they couldnt get thru even though we got thru straight away when we tried!! !). And the bill was far more than we expected! Not justified at all! Will not be returning anytime soon!!!

Second time been here as thought the watery sauce may be a one off but it was the same on the second time - its like a soup! Im used to the curry sauce being thicker and less oily.
