Originally started as Hameediyah. Maybe its branch. Around 2014 or earlier, it changed its name to Yusuf Restaurant. The food offered especially the briyani ayam tanam is exactly like Hameediyah Campbell street. Over the years, Yusuf had become my favourite. It tasted better than Hameediyah for my liking. Always had fond memories visiting Yusuf Restaurant with my late father. We will order kari kepala ikan and shared on fish head among us.

Ive been told about this restaurant by my penangite friend, he said that u have to eat where the locals eat, this place still can be considered as a hidden gem, less known by outsiders... if yall know how to appreciate good n quality food then this restaurant should be in your list.. this is not a typical nasi kandar chain where the staff will scoop and mixed all the curries for u, here they just give u a plate of rice ( plain or briyani) then u have to choose n scoop your own dishes n curries.. the taste? Excellent!! Take my first bite n immediately all the freshness from the chicken or squid n the aromatic spices goodness from the curries blew me away!! So now i have a new favourite restaurant in penang beside my all time favourite nasi kandar tajudin husin, deen maju, kg melayu n beratur liyaqat ali... oh last but not least the murtabak is still so delicious even after 6 hour journey...👍🌟

In my opinion, this is one of the best nasi kandar around Bayan Lepas area. The price is slightly more expensive but the size of the chicken is big. Beware of taking costlier ayam kampung too. I like the fragrance of its rice.

This restaurant is supposedly run by a rival Hameediyah sibling & the food is quite similar to that offered at the famous town shop.The curries however are spicier to suit the local palate. Food is pricey, a fairly large sotong can cost RM7 per piece! If in doubt, better ask the price first.Go before lunch hour to avoid the factory crowd.
